Sola Scriptura John - thats what you used to boast insnt it ?

why on earth would i choose to respond to your cut and paste when you NEVER answer simple propositions yourself and mock the word when you dont understand it

For my edification ? - coming from somewone who thinks that Jesus changed His mind and REVERSED His teaching - you yourself are no true teacher yet you pretend to be

What is most offensive about your posts leaving aside the previously mentioned offences which I itemised befrore is your position on these poor folk that were slaughtered

The devil indeed is happy to see them killed without resistance - oh horror to have someone like YOU as a neighbour as my family were threatened and killed, someone unwilling to defend the sheep. Its bad enough when its doctrine but its nothing compared to its fruits as expressed in the betrayal of a neighbour in the face of danger
God gave some of us other people to be responsible for, I would not be suprised to find that you have no one to be responsible for, or anything ie a job, a house or a church. See the connection ?

BTW I notice you "ditch" the OT in one of your posts below. Why do you do that when it is God's Word?
When scripture contradicts john humanist gospel and unscriptural world view he always ignores it and proceeds to throw stones

to whit he is unable to deal with the question as to why Jesus instructed his disciples to sell their cloaks if neccessary to purchase swords if not to defend themselves with

John also believes that Jesus reversed his instructions to them which is a lie from satan himself and also has denigrated OT teachings

I have also seen him claim to believe in election yet deny the means

It would not suprise me in the least John to find that you are anevolutionist and do not accept moses, for instance six day creation, i asked you this before and did not get an answer

This display of impudence and hard heartedness and the infantile instincts of the natural man are on display here for ALL TO SEE

Godly men and women are required to defend themselves should God in His providence place them in that situation to whit the great king and warrior David.

God Himself is a man of war Ex 15v3

Hello bro. Considering the length of the article, don't you find it amazing that he can find no actual examples in the New Testament? The Old Testament is hardly the place to look for New Testament principles.
youve BEEN given one example john but you mock it so im for one am not going to cast pearls before swine

what on earth do you think that Jesus instructed the disciples to carry a sword in PREFERENCE to a cloak FOR ?

To spread their sandwiches ?

How can you ignore the obvious ?

PS sorry I called you earlier, i thought mistakenly that you had complained to moderator, i had no evidence for this.

yeah, look to yourself john, a fulsome apology for telling lies about me is what is required here not more pomposity.

More seriously, you actually suggested, if not claimed outright that scripture contradicts itself

THAT is a lie from the devil

All false teachers are the same

95 % truth and 5 % POISON, the 5 % is enough to destroy

dont tell me what christianity is about when you refuse to acknowlege straightforward error and claim i couldnt provide an example about a disciple using a weapon when i did

And do you know any example in the whole of the New Testament where Jesus disciples defended themselves with weaponry against persecutors? Charles can't find one, but maybe you know one or two eh?
Ha ! Once again caught you in your impudence and dishonesty ! I already pointed out to you previously that peter cut off someones ear in the garden of gethsemane but you have the effrontery to say that I cant provide an example when i already did - completely dishonest and i hope members of this forum are paying attention to this.

You also deceitfully claim that you did not say that jesus chenges his mind when you certainly did claim that 'the bible reverses itself'

the example provided which in your view demonstrates this, actually demonstrates your ignorance of a key biblical doctrine - first to the jews then to the gentiles

instead of admitting it you resort to form

The depth of your conceitr is furthur revealed when you advise the likes of william to read his NT 'and understand it this time ' !!! ridiculous it is YOU who are blin

Forum contributors TAKE NOTE of these exchanges lest you doubt my warnings be NOT DECEIVED by johns teaching

I will be EXPOSING the FALSE TEACHING and ERROR of john uk on this forum

#1 Please note that I never asserted that Jesus "changed his mind", as if he was some sort of unstable Welshman. If you imagined that I was implying that, please be assured that I wasn't.
its not gonna work john,

you offered these verses as proof that jesus reversed his commands

''You reckon there are "no" one-offs in the gospel accounts, Charles?
Commands that Jesus actually REVERSED shortly? ''

YOU wrote that john

clearly you INTENDED to suggest that Jesus changed his mind and that some instructions were REVERSED

I have demonstrated to you from scripture that far from being a reversal this was the plan - first to the jews then the gentiles

Your pride will not allow you to admit your error so you dishonestly muddy the waters and adopt a transparently impolite and patronising tone

strong evidence of the impulses of the natural man

MIKE :''PS do you really think John/UK is a false teacher? ''

MIKE You decide based on this exchange I say do not accept john teaching he is not in the truth. You have it all here, a basic error, a refusal to be taught and a calculated dishonest and patronising response.

Its predictable and i can make him do it on demand

I'll not be overbearing with you, but I'm sure you'll find others for yourself brother.
oh dear.....letters to the romans john ?

rom 1v16

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek

salvation is to the Jew first and then the gentile thats a basic teaching and
fundemental doctrine

your assertion that Jesus changed his mind means you dont know this

The verses you use show that the disciples went to the Jews first and then the gentiles which is in accord with scripture, it only seems like a 'reversal' to you because you dont know what scripture teaches on this matter !

are you going to dig your heels in or admit you were wrong ?

I warned you to cut your losses !

oh totally, its good to get mad at this sort of thing but its even better to challenge these wonderfull 'orthodoxies' and watch them as they desperately struggle for the first time in their lives to biblically reference it without the usual scattergun tactics, my favorites in descending order are

'you have to ask Jesus into your heart'

you can really chew on this one, i start of by asking them where it says that in the bible, they are always arminists that say this so it then leads on to my favorite ground - election and sovreignty,

another good 'pop' cliche is

'God does not go where he isnt wanted'

ha ha ! - we are entering a doctrine free zone here - the average calvinist will emerge as a seeming theological giant.
TAKE NO PRISONERS !

Im still enjoying Gil Rugh jim, especially his series on romans, but is it the real gil rugh ? I am concerned - WHY OH WHY does he sound like clint eastwood ??????????

are you involved in this conspiracy ? I seek assurance from you that this man is the said pastor not an aging f

I'll give you till tonight to come clean and repent of heterodoxy.
Au contraire john ! It is up to you to support your rather ambitious claim above, but if you can your stock will rise ! - shouldnt you cut your losses now rather than attempt to demonstrate that scripture contradicts itself or that Jesus reversed his commands ?

I shall be taking the leading role in my film but I would rather the material itself took centre stage so modesty forbids that I grace the frame with my middle aged but nonetheless youthfully handsome well preserved visage ! We dont want the ladies being distracted now do we !

apparently you can take an existing powerpoint presentation and convert it to video for posting on youtube i will put an audio track on it and i will be on my way, i look forward to advising all the brethren on here of the link and getting feedback !

perhaps i ought to be more sober ! I agree with john wholeheartedly most of the time but sometimes ... a little leaven...

John, Jesus is God, there are no 'one offs' as you call it, nor does scripture contradict itself.

The disciples were instructed to take weapons IN PREFERENCE to a cloak which is surely the item of most daily use, because Jesus knew they would be attacked. As for the use of weapons, peter chopped off someones ear

I would put more trust in the above 'learned' Doctor than any evolutionary Scientist
mmm yes thx for the link, i have had some modestsuccess with my presentations lately and ive found that you can make a video from a powerpoint presentation and post it on youtube, so that is the next step, this will be a shopwindow

the thing i bear in mind these days is that the evolutionists 'having chosennot to retain the knowlege of God have been handed over to a reprobate mind' so we cant expect a rational response to our rational position but the caveat is it must be rational/biblical

why is jesus telling the disciples to sell their cloak if they need to to buy a sword, you need a cloak, he is making the sword more neccessary than the cloak

I would suggest that you read the New Testament again, William. And this time, try believing what you read.
John, this is really to much. You think that william does not understand the NT and you do ? The sheer conceit of this is breathtaking

Luke 22
35And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.

36Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.

37For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end.

38And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.

Follow your own advice John and you can take the beam out of your own eye while you are at it

Every man without exception has a duty to defend himself when neccesary with all means to hand
No christian should allow himself to be slaughtered and certainly no other christian should advise him to do so.

William, John is a false teacher ignore what he says

OK here is something that came to me on sunday during the sermon it was about the passover lamb and the crucifiction, so far so good you may say, good staples which the elect always enjoy but as i was listening passages of scripture came to mind,

Israel killed the passover lamb and spread the blood over the door lintels

The jews killed Jesus 1thess2 v 14

so our sovreign God ordained this they killed the lamb without blemish as they killed the passover lamb

we know the consequences of this act to the jewish nation, the judgement they came under for doing this

it makes your head spin, exactly what is happening here ? The jews are Gods special people the apple of His eye, is this why they were chosen for this task ? Its very deep when you think about it.

They were told to kill the passover lamb to save their own lives

They were not told to kill Jesus and they sufferd the sword for it

Yet the two things were neccessary and
'it pleased God to bruise Him' (not in the gratuitous sense obviuosly)
