This company is supporting a horrendous kind of child abuse. Kinda the same way that foster parents support the theft of children by social services from homes where there is no abuse. Be careful with whom you yoke...because this stuff is no joke.

I say let gay and bisexual men donate blood, but it can only be used on other gay and bisexual men. This way, if there is an infection in the blood it stays in the community that it came from.

Perhaps, more appropriately since the first stone has been cast amongst conservatives, he should be labeled Dirty (Bloody) Harry. But calling folk names is not only childish, but slander, anti-biblical and anti-Christ. There but for the grace of God go I.
Further, both of these numbers (including those ~150,000 killed during the "Inquisition") pale in comparison to the 45 million vivisected every year even by well-meaning Christians.
Henry, despite the break with Rome, continued a Papist to his dying day. The break with Rome was only an expedient to enable him to have his way regarding an heir to the throne!

Or maybe 2 thoughts

1. To judge the whole class by a minority may seem fair to you, but really it does does serve your cause.

2. Your arguments are built on the premise that truth lies only in one direction. viz. that calvinism has it all sown up and anything viewed as a departure is heresy! This is sheer arrogance! With an attitude like that it is no wonder that the reformation has come to to a halt. What further is there to discover in the Bible. You have arrived!! Put your feet up and take the chair to judge all and sundry because you are now fully equipped.

Maybe this explains the stinking pride of some of the calvs who regularly post on SA

The mode for baptism of the Holy Spirit was falling on or poured out (acts 2:17-18; Acts 10:44-48; 11:15-17)

Doesn’t this teach us that the mode of water baptism should be the same?

John Y.,
Can you show us where in scripture Christ commands us to invite Him into our hearts, or where in scripture Christ commands us to pray to receive Him. I will await your response.

John UK, precisely my point, until God opens the deaf ear and the blind eye, the dead in sin sinner will not see his/her need for a Savior. God must first do a work in the heart of a sinner before the sinner can cry out 'O God, be merciful to me, a sinner!'Good point.

Joe P., No one can receive Christ unless the Father FIRST draws them to Him. Salvation is a supernatural work of the Lord, from start to finish.

Great links Jim Lincoln.
Not so sure this man 'gets it' Barry, the Pentecostal religion is one that insists on 'speaking in tongues' as proof of salvation; this makes their salvation one of works. They also border legalism with the insistence that women wear ankle-length skirts as well as have their hair up in buns. They confuse the gift of tongues as a sign of salvation. The Bible clearly teaches that not all have the same spiritual gift, with that said, how can they biblically justify their insistence of speaking in tongues!

The Bible teaches salvation is of grace, not of works {Eph. 2:8,9}. The Pentecostal denomination is also big on healings, prosperity, and the whole word faith garbage. They twist the scriptures just like every other false religion to fit their belief system. They mix just enough truth with their poison to convince non-suspecting folks to follow their dogma. Evidence of truly being born again, or born from above, is a changed life from the inside out {not in outward appearance, or in the ability to speak in tongues}. It is also evidenced in the fact that the believer is continually looking unto Jesus, forsaking sin and leaning upon Him for all things in this life and the one to come.

Where in the bible does the phrase, 'accept Jesus Christ' found!! Man, in his dead state of sin and depraved mind, could never come to Christ...no matter how bad his circumstances may be. The Lord makes it clear in John 6:44, no one can come to Him unless the Father draws them. This 'accepting Christ' is all part of salvation by works, which is so prevalent in America. Just pray a canned prayer, or invite Jesus into your heart, or accept Him, and presto!! Instant Christian!!
All this does is produce a ton of false converts who will die and go to hell because they deem themselves saved based on their own doing. Ephesians 2:8,9 is one of the most important truths in all of scripture.

John UK,
apparently your conscience was pricked by my original post {you responded in a offensive way, even though I NEVER mentioned any names}, now you resort to name calling and belittlement. From my previous visits to this site, I can safely say you spend way too much time here, and you enjoy arguing.
I did read your posts, and as I have ALREADY stated, IF you cleave to one particular translation, then my posts were directed at you.
You seem to do nothing more than take the words of others and twist them, using this method to try and draw them into a 'debate' with you. When word twisting doesn't work, you resort to name calling and false accusations. Your cheap unbiblical practices won't work with me, I will not get drawn into some off the wall debate with you.
Take my advice, find something better to do with your time. I've already wasted too much of it on your 'dog chasing his own tail' tactics.

JohnUK,
If you are guilty of attacking anyone who doesn't adhere to the KJV only, then you are the one who needs to listen to the rebuke and repent.
As for my evangelizing the lost, what does that have to do with bible translations! You are trying to steer away from the intention of my original post. To accuse me of being an 'ecumenist' is quite strange, on what do you base that most serious accusation. As for your stating I have no desire for the lost, you are as wrong as you could be. This too needs to be repented of, you have falsely accused me out of your own pride and arrogance. You assume such simply because I haven't stated so, or because I won't waste time 'debating' with you. Get off the internet and go do what you accuse me of not doing!
No, I am not 'new here', I stopped posting because there is too much arguing that takes place here. I have visited this site for years, not that it matters.
I do not know why you think my rebuke was geared specifically at you, it was geared to those who uphold any one translation as superior.
Good day

John UK-I am NOT in any way, shape or form, trying to unite all believers. You missed the point. IF you claim Christ, then you must serve one another in all humility and love, being united by those bonds. Those who truly belong to Christ will indeed understand and repent if they are guilty of causing division. Don't overlook a gentle rebuke by twisting my words to be all inclusive.
The word of God was NOT what I was overlooking either, it's the continual battle to argue over translations, one holding up a certain translation as superior, more authoritative, etc. This is sinful, boastful, arrogant behavior. You have taken EVERYTHING I've said and twisted it, perhaps my words pricked your conscience and instead of seeking Him, you twist my words to say and mean something OTHER than what was actually written.
We should tremble at His word, NOT squabble over translations and uphold any one certain translation as 'the only one'. Those who do this are the ones I am referring to. IF this is you, don't lash out, twist words, or defend your sin; instead, seek mercy and forgiveness from Him.
In your anger, you seem to 'challenge' me as to how I am reaching the lost, and you want to debate...debate what!!
I do hope it isn't over 'translations'.

it seems pointless to try and remind 'believers' to strive for unity, instead we get smart aleck responses...no surprise though when one considers the reason behind those responses;sin. The sin of pride and arrogance is to blame for a lot of division, i.e., I'm right and you are wrong, or, my views are superior to yours. How the Lord must be grieved.

The power of God's word does NOT lie in the 'translation', so please, let's not make an idol out of the KJV. It is a worthy translation, as is the ESV, NKJV, and NASB. We should NOT be causing division by arguing over silly things like bible translations; to do so is sinful. Discernment is needed for all things pertaining to God {ungodly translations like the message will cause many red flags to fly in those who use discernment}. I cannot believe the mentality of some who name the name of Christ, and yet, insist their 'translation' is superior, or the only one!! God help us! Our world is crumbling around us, people NEED to hear the Gospel, time is running out, and yet, many waste precious time by arguing over secondary issues such as this, shame on you! Repent

As for this church who protests military funerals and says God is judging America because of our homosexuality, so He kills soldiers,--- I ask this, where is your bible verse to back this claim.
What about heterosexual promiscuity, what type of 'punishment' is God currently unleashing on us for the rampant adultery, pornography, and sexual immorality that takes place every second by heterosexuals. God will judge ALL sin, not just one in particular.

John Y,
contd. from prior post concerning B. Graham...
"SCHULLER: What, what I hear you saying, that it's possible for Jesus Christ to come into human hearts and soul and life, even if they've been born in darkness and have never had exposure to the Bible. Is that a correct interpretation of what you're saying?

GRAHAM: Yes, it is, because I believe that. I've met people in various parts of the world in tribal situations, that they have never seen a Bible or heard about a Bible, and never heard of Jesus, but they've believed in their hearts that there was a God, and they've tried to live a life that was quite apart from the surrounding community in which they lived."

"SCHULLER: [R.S. trips over his tongue for a moment, his face beaming, then says] I'm so thrilled to hear you say this. There's a wideness in God's mercy.

GRAHAM: There is. There definitely is."

Is there a 'wideness' in God's mercy John Y? What did Christ mean when He said 'enter through the narrow gate'? What did He mean when He said 'many are called, few are chosen'?

John Y.,
The following segment is an exact transcript of an excerpt close to the end of the broadcast. Reported by The Christian News, October 20, 1997, page 15...
"SCHULLER: Tell me, what do you think is the future of Christianity?

GRAHAM: Well, Christianity and being a true believer -- you know, I think there's the Body of Christ. This comes from all the Christian groups around the world, outside the Christian groups. I think everybody that loves Christ, or knows Christ, whether they're conscious of it or not, they're members of the Body of Christ ... I think James answered that, the Apostle James in the first council in Jerusalem, when he said that God's purpose for this age is to call out a people for His name. And that's what God is doing today, He's calling people out of the world for His name, whether they come from the Muslim world, or the Buddhist world, or the Christian world, or the non-believing world, they are members of the Body of Christ, because they've been called by God. They may not even know the name of Jesus, but they know in their hearts that they need something that they don't have, and they turn to the only light that they have, and I think they are saved, and that they're going to be with us in heaven."
to be contd...

John Y says, 'I learned from Baptist ministers on television that the only requirement for gaining entrance into Heaven is to pray to Jesus and ask Him to become ones Savior'
It would be far better to stick with the teachings of the Bible concerning salvation...'For by grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, NOT OF WORKS,lest any man should boast.' Eph. 2:8.9
This is what the false teachings of easy believism produce, false converts. Those who merely repeat prayers, make decisions, and base their salvation on that work are terribly deceived.
There is not one thing anyone can do to cause God to look upon them with favor and save them. Grace is what salvation is based on, made available by the death, burial, and resurrection of God's own Son.
Those who boast they are saved because of some work they did are in serious danger.

sadly, this earthquake is a reminder we live in a sin-cursed fallen world, the earth itself being cursed because of sin. There's no reason to think Haitians are more wicked than Americans, or Brits, or Aussies, etc. May God use this devastation to get glory for Himself.

Pastor{huh?} Mike, IF you are an atheist, why do you spend SO much time on a Christian website? Do you enjoy getting worked up, offended, etc.?
There are plenty of 'devilish' sites you could hang out on, so why not spare yourself the agony and torture?
