That contradicts the idea that God has already chosen who would be saved and who would be lost.
The idea that God elects - But waits for the individual sinner to do something first is just the reprint of the old RCC/Arminian salvation by works. First you refer to God's "foreknowledge"
But then you down grade the Lord by suggesting that HIS election is not connected to HIS foreknowing whom????
The same God who foreknows - also elects.
"God from all eternity did, by the most wise and holy counsel of his own will, freely and unchangeably ordain whatsoever comes to pass" (WCF)
REF: Rom 9:15, 18; 11:33; Eph 1:11; Heb 6:17.
Eph 1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being (1) predestinated according to the (2) purpose of (3) him who worketh (4) all things after the counsel of (5) his own will:
Predestined by God.
God's purpose established in man.
God's work established in man.
God's own counsel.
God's will.
You can't even squeeze anything else by anyone or anything into that Totally Sovereign complete work. Praise be to God.
To then suggest that God in foreKNOWING, predestinating, counsel, will and purpose has nothing to do with GOD's own SHEEP (John 10:14) - is flabbergasting???
