"The letter, written by Stephen Boissoin and published in the Red Deer Advocate in 2002, carried the headline "Homosexual agenda wicked" and suggested gays were as immoral as pedophiles, drug dealers and pimps."

I notice in "God's Letter"

That HE puts homosexuality alongside human sacrifice and beastiality.
I guess this would upset this guy too.

Lev 18:21 And thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass through the fire to Molech, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD.
22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.
23 Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion.
24 Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you:
25 And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants.

Is the Lord raising another Babylonian army, this time to attack the west because we have rejected Christ and the authority of Scripture, and now no longer worship God according to His Word?

Abigail et al

I quoted from an article by Iain Murray on the difference between OSAS and Calvinism. It would appear from comments below that some of you dont get the point. If any are interested the article is at the URL quoted below.

May I state again for clarification OSAS belongs to a specific person called Dr. R T Kendall. It is NOT the same doctrine as Calvinism, ours is based on the P of TULIP which is Perseverance of the saints, and different.

Please carry on.

PS
You do realise the part you quoted below is Kendall's OSAS - NOT Calvinism nor my belief.

"You are using these verses to prove OSAS..."

OSAS was invented by Dr. R. T. Kendall.
It is *NOT* Calvinist!
Whereas I am.
Therefore I would not try to prove it in any way.

Some input for you -

"Dr. Kendall is not an advocate of the Calvinistic view of perseverance, for he considers that in one important respect the Calvinistic teaching has contributed to the undermining of biblical assurance.

Wherein, then, lies the difference between the Calvinistic view of the believer’s security and the viewpoint of Once Save, Always Saved ? In a nutshell, it is that Dr. Kendall believes that regeneration makes sanctification only ‘possible’ because, he wishes to argue, a Christian may be saved without being sanctified. ‘Sanctification was not a prerequisite for glorification, or Paul would have placed it in line with “calling” and “justification” [Rom 8.20]’ (p 100). This is no slip of the pen on the author’s part for the main thesis of his case is repeated four times the first 43 pages: ‘I state categorically that the person who is saved will go to Heaven when he dies no matter what work (or lack of work) may accompany such faith. In other words, no matter what sin (or absence of Christian obedience) may accompany such faith’"
(I.H. Murray)

Abigail

"And moreover, Christian, remember how many backers thy evil nature has. As for thy gracious life, it finds few friends beneath the sky; but thine original sin hath allies in every quarter. It looks down to hell, and it finds them there, demons ready to let slip the dogs of hell upon thy soul. It looks out into the world, and sees "the lusts of the flesh, the lusts of the eye, and the pride of life." It looks around, and it seeth all kinds of men, seeking, if it be possible, to lead the Christian from his steadfastness. It looks into the Church, and it finds all manner of false doctrine ready to inflame lust, and guide the soul from the sincerity of its faith. It looks to the body, and it finds head, and hand, and foot, and all other members ready to be subservient to sin. I could overcome my evil heart if it had not such a mighty host of allies, but it makes my position doubly dangerous, to have foes without the gates, in league and amity with a foe more vile within."
(C. H. Spurgeon)

We must expect today that Satan's bureaucrats in schools, courts and politics (education, law and government), will prevent the Gospel Truth from being proclaimed to our children and others.

1John 4:6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

2Thes 2:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness

KK and Abigail
I get the feeling from your posts that you have missed a point here.
Note.
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: John 10.

Before the sheep can do anything in this verse, - THEY are claimed by the Lord.
HE calls them "MY SHEEP"

This is not just any sheep - But HIS sheep HE knows His own.

The previous verse identifies the alternative flock which are NOT "MY sheep"
Note.
26 But ye believe not, **BECAUSE** YE ARE NOT of my sheep, as I said unto you.

Thus to "hear" and to "know" (and hence to follow), belongs to the flock of Christ, and not just anyone. Also the promise of verses 28+29 are for the chosen elect of God.

John 15:16 Ye have NOT chosen me, but I HAVE CHOSEN YOU, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

"If you are judging that I am not saved that is between you and the Lord Jesus Christ."

No Abigail, I dont make that judgment. How could I, a mere mortal judge you thus? Your salvation and when/how it commences on earth is up to God alone.

All I said below was from observing your apparent OSAS disclaimer in past posts, coupled with your statement on quote "self evil......transformation ....deliverance...." unquote; - that there seemed to be a tie up between them.

Do you believe that the transformation/deliverance you referred to, is a permanent state all the way to heaven?

"Self is evil. The rebirth with redemption through the blood of Jesus Christ brings transformation with deliverance from the depravity of self."

I remember your disdain at the theory of OSAS in previous posts. But in this statement are you not also giving credence to a version of OSAS? Or OSAS by another name?

Your words above basically say that the "transformation" which takes place is a "deliverance from evil." This being so the Lord is unlikely to do this, to someone who is not bound for salvation. Thus being saved (transformed/delivered) they will be saved for always, (eternity).

Do you still consider yourself to be an evil hearted sinner, at this moment in time?

Thus do you believe that you are in the midst of struggle against sin?

"Commentaries have a place, but not before the plain and simple words of Scripture."

Do you imply that the commentator used "another" Bible or is not as smart as Abigail in this statement?

If not - what then do you suggest here?
After all many folks use commentaries.
Are they wrong?

Romans 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness"

Original Mistake is to reject the Word of God.

Rom 1:24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves"

Action of God is give them up to their carnal lusts.

Rom 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them."

Action of God is that all the people are culpable.

Psalm 94:23 And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; yea, the LORD our God shall cut them off."

Judgment is already in progress!

Meanwhile we muslims will carry on killing each other, in an uneducated, uncivilized and under-developed society.

Any person found guilty of trying to bring decent community life to this people will be murdered, officially iaw with Islamic law of course.

We keep trying to convert JD and Yamil, but it is as if there is a wall between them and the Biblical Truth.

cbcpreacher
This debate is more than just discussion it is the preaching of the truth unto salvation - "for those who can hear."

Look at JD's remarks he even posits that the sinner doesn't require the Holy Spirit's (indwelling) work unto salvation. Yamil appears to follow the same erroneous path.

As L.R.S. says this is the world of the religionist.

JD
You are peddling salvation by works.
Please remove yourself from the Roman Catholic Church forthwith.

"Less Americans embrace a traditional view of God and Bible reading is becoming less popular, a new study revealed."

Most True Christians did not need a study to teach them this.

The problem is Arminianism, Synergism and free will theories, leading of course to Liberalism, and hence the decline of traditional Biblical doctrines being preached.

I was wondering if you could generate some "Survey" questions, as the "members" appear to have run out of ideas. The current dose of questions are somewhat played out and invariably end up as something completely different anyway.
Also if you could make the questions more realistically theological, rather than run of the mill.

Judging by your satanic and pagan post conclusions....
You are obviously NOT christian nor I sincerely hope a parent. If you are then your kids are in for a very bad time. What a shame that you dont have any moral decency either. May God bring you to some form of reality soon.

Quote
"With spirituality the basis of a New reformation, indeed, a New Renaissance, a re-birth of humanity is once again possible. A vision that is earth-conscious and earth-honoring; a vision that is justice oriented at the levels of economic justice, gender justice, social justice and political justice. A vision of compassion therefore that alone will render us humans and our planet sustainable."
Unquote.

This is the infamous Social Gospel of Liberalism.

The 16th century Reformation was produced by God.

The above ideology is produced by the sinner.
