Mark M. from Georgia said: "... if you can afford internet access and a computer in order read my post, then most likely you make too much money to qualify for any of the endless programs that you will be taxed for."
Yes, and you should be happy about that. Wasn't that the whole idea of solidarity, care for the poor and share with those in need? Sounds pretty biblical to me...
I'm not American but from having lived here since 3 years I can see you guys have a HUGE problem with health care, poverty, divide rich/poor, education, equal opportunities etc. From my perspective, those problems would be better addressed by a Democrat.
Kenny, I do know of a homosexual man who was convicted that he and his partner should from now on be brothers instead of partners. Regarding your earlier question about what Christ's message is: John 3:16 seems a perfect summary... "Jesus told the adulterous woman in no uncertain terms to go and sin no more." Right. AFTER He told her He didn't condemn her... Just like Zacchaeus repented AFTER Jesus came to his house and had a meal with him - talk about unconditionnal love! An encounter with God, with Christ, will never be without consequences - either you reject his message, or you accept his Lordship over every part of your life. That is why we need to bring people in God's presence, whoever they are - if you're keeping homosexuals etc from hearing God's message unless they repent, you make God's love conditionnal. Christ's message is that you can come to the cross just as you are, lay all your sins at his cross, and be transformed by his Spirit - so you live a life of obedience and repentance BECAUSE of what He did for you. Also, as a Christian I have no reason to look down on anyone - I know it is MY fault that the world is fallen - I'm completely as undeserving as any other sinner of God's love. The only difference between me and them is God's grace!
Kenny says: "If I see an attractive woman (other than my wife), that does not make me an adulterer. I become an adulterer when I have sex with the other woman and thereby commit adultery (never have and by God's grace never will)." I'm sorry, but Jesus says in Matthew 5:28: "I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart." The pharisees didn't throw a stone at the adulterous woman - Jesus didn't either - He could have, for He was without sin! No, God does not condone sin. But only a relationship with God through Christ will transform the hearts and deeds of adulterers, gays and Pharisees. Most of all, they need to meet Christ and hear his message!
