There is no excuse for such behavior coming from supposed apologists and Bible Christians. It's a classic example of hypocrites on public display! It would be nice to get a detailed explanation of why they do this because it makes me question what they are really doing.  |

Is that Christianity? Maybe he read Martin Luther's words "Sin boldly" "Commit some sin to throw the devil off." And no this is not the Christianity of the Bible, to answer your question Lance. The Bible teaching is "Abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul," and "Resist the devil and he will flee from you." If perfect doctrine gets you into heaven, what's happened to Martin Luther and his followers? Will they be in heaven teaching and believing such lies, to sin boldly and enjoy a little sin to thwart the devil? |

Liberals and Roman Catholics might like people to think it is As for liberals, yes. As for Roman Catholics that sounds like a pious Protestant idea. Of course do your words apply to liberal protestants? To be fair, I hope you would say yes. |

Just open up the phone book of a major urban area and go to the churches section and take a look. |

Pugatory a myth? I don't thik so:And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but he that shall speak against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, nor the world to come.(Matthew 12:31) So here we have evidence that in the future some sins may be forgiven in the next world, but not others. If heaven and hell were the only "worlds" what do we do with this other world to come in which some sins are forgiven and others are not? If any man's work abide, which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work burn, he shall suffer loss; but he himself shall be saved, yet so as by fire.(1 Corinthians 3:14,15) Here we see a giving of rewards to come. Notice for some, there will be a salvation by fire. Hellfire is for those unsaved and heaven is for the saved, yet this fire yields salvation--heaven in the end. A classic understanding of purgatory has been that of a cleansing fire. As for the Mass: "This is my body; this is my blood," and "Except ye eat the flesh of the son of man and drink his blood, ye have no life." |
