" an executive education program at his alma mater, the Wharton School, for faith leaders who need MBA-like skills to do serious economic development work."

The Pharisees all had the equivalent of MBA's too.

Say no more!

Abigail wrote:
In OT times, all kingdoms of the world were Satanic except God's established nation Israel and their forebears. When Jesus came into the world and declared that His Kingdom is not of this world—and set up a Spiritual Kingdom in the hearts of His followers, the entire world with its governments and social customs became Satan's domain.
1] Satan rules over all except Israel.
2] Jesus moves His kingdom out, presumably the Israel bit? to take up residence in believers hearts.
3] Satan then takes over the whole planet.

Abigail do you honestly believe all this hypothesis?

Psalm 24:1 The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein

Psalm 50:12 If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof

Psalm 89:11 The heavens are thine, the earth also is thine: as for the world and the fulness thereof, thou hast founded them.

Psalm 93:1 The LORD reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; the LORD is clothed with strength, wherewith he hath girded himself: the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved

Psalm 22:28 For the kingdom is the LORD'S: and he is the governor among the nations

One little point about your conclusion.
If war is Satanic, why did God/Christ command it to be carried out at *ANY* time in man's history??

Do you believe the "immutable" God is in agreement with Satan at times??

Gen 14:18 "And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.
Gen 14:20 And blessed be the most high God, which HATH DELIVERED thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.

Heb 6:20 "Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
Heb 7:1 For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and BLESSED HIM"

NO! Just Liberalism which the Lord does not bless in church or out.

"Many are moving into the smaller and more conservative Evangelical Presbyterian Church."

Mike from New York
Ah now come on Mike use all the words.

See this bit
"so long as we are without Christ and separated from him, nothing which he suffered and did"

So the qualifying part is - "When you are without Christ and sparated"
Now
When you are Located THERE

"nothing which HE suffered and did"
Can be of any benefit.

The Crucified Christ can only benefit the folks who are "with" Christ.

Romans 8:3
"...... God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Those who walk after the Spirit ONLY?

Christ died for those who walk after the Spirit. - Not universalism.

Thus do we discern Limited Atonement.

"We must now see in what way we become possessed of the blessings which God has bestowed on his only-begotten Son, not for private use, but to enrich the poor and needy.

***And the first thing to be attended to is, that so long as we are without Christ and separated from him, nothing which he suffered and did for the salvation of the human race is of the least benefit to us.***

To communicate to us the blessings which he received from the Father, he must become ours and dwell in us."
John Calvin.
(Institutes Bk. III Ch. 1. Sec. 1)

Have a nice day Y'all.

"“They say things like: ‘I don’t ever want to be a pastor. I’ll never be a pastor,’” he said.

In part, students have observed pastors dealing with conflict and pressure, and they want no part of it"

Is that because the students are whimps?
Or
The congregations are the most critical and arrogant "experts" on earth?

Imprecatory prayers is an interesting point. I notice most of the "expert"(?) advice suggested it is not the Christian thing to do.

But the words are recorded in the Scriptures and are therefore part of the Word of God, and that is unavoidable.

Yes Jesus taught "love our enemies" but that still leaves the curse prayers, in the Bible whether we like it or not.

So what do we do with them, and what they teach?

Simple - We pray all prayers to God.
Any action taken can only come from Him then. If we are "attacked" by the world, satan or principalities of darkness, it may be that the Lord has allowed this to test faith. That being so His answer may not be the solution we hope for, but that is up to God, not man.

The Lord will still receive and grant prayer of His servants, according to His will.

"Once rebuffed, the two women, Harriet Bernstein and Luisa Paster, filed a complaint with the state's civil rights office."

One gets the distinct impression that these deviants only tried to get their perversion of marriage, knowing they would be rejected, and that they would then take it to civil rights court.

Rom 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature

Quote "Now that British teenagers are officially the worst behaved in Europe, policy-makers of all complexions are battling it out to dream up half-baked schemes to redeem them."

How fascinating that they should apply the word "Redeem" here.

As for the state of children and parenting - Why all the surprise? When this is the United Kingdom of Sodom and Gomorrah, and Satan is in charge of the church and the state.

ONLY Christ can redeem the child or this evil nation.

America
Take note!!!!
PC Liberalism is knocking at your door too.

Yes Mike, there is no doubt that WE are to blame for our sin. So immense is that sin that only God's own Son could pay the penalty, that we might be reconciled to our Father.

Satan appears to know exactly how to place within our reach, - usually at the wrong (or is it right) moment, the temptation which incriminates us in our actions.

Thus Satan's "power" is in his knowledge of the human condition and precisely when to play the card.

Mike from Mex

What role then do you give to Satan. It almost sounds as if you remove him altogether from the fray. I know that the usual phrase is to say that he only tempts us, and that the act and consequence is then our fault. But surely Satan is not that benign in creation? In Romans 7 Paul refers to the "law of sin" warring against his mind, pointing to the struggle within.
But what of Satan and his forces, do they not play a hand in the corruption of man and the attack on his person, with none effect?

Considering these geniuses are teaching the abomination of homosexual practice, and foreign idolatrous religions, I guess it makes no odds if they further confound what is laughingly called education today anyway.

"Amnesty International" is a *Liberal* organisation anyway.

Famous for trying to set people free, - they now demonstrate the true form of liberals who kill babies in the womb.
Naturaly they also support the abomination of homosexual practice too.

John Yurich

"They are right to point out that the "old fashioned" altar call was unheard of until the second quarter of the nineteenth century. They are correct when they say that Charles G. Finney invented the altar call. Word of Life Baptist Church said,

The practice was designed to force decisions, to get results…the new method spread with increasing popularity through Finney and, later, Dwight L. Moody, and finally into virtually all nineteenth and twentieth century evangelism."

Your 500 years is a little too far back for the reality of history John.

The verse prior to Seatons quote is

15 "Beware of **FALSE PROPHETS,** which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16 Ye shall know them by their fruits."

If the point here is not about false doctrine, then how do we identify these "false prophets"???

Does the "fruit" of the false prophets mean the way they are dressed? the length of their hair? the color of their shoes?

Or the doctrines/words/theology with which Jesus describes them as being "false" in verse 15?
