Socialism with whatever s you want to put on it is fundamentally different from the passage you quoted from Acts. In Acts, the believers gave and supported, not out of compulsion, but rather out of love for each other. What we see happening now is not people freely giving to care for each others needs, it is a forced confiscation by those in power and a slow consolidation of control over the entire economy, which never happened in the early church.
You guys are missing the point altogether. The issue is not Romney or Obama. The issue is that over have of the nation is now radically pro abortion, homo marriage, illicit drug use, and socialism. So for the first time in the history of this nation a majority of people blatantly rejected godliness, they have high handedly told God that they would rather have a king. You are wrong here. In Texas we have managed to push through a number of laws that work to counter abortion. The mandatory sonagram, 24 hour waiting period, mandatory doctor consultation on the long term affects of abortion, minors must have parental consent, etc. The only way that these laws stand is if they are upheld by the Supreme Court. Thus far they have stood but only by a 5-4 vote, which will go away with Obama making the appointments.
Tater you are wrong on this one. I'm a veteran and did a tour in Afghanistan in 2010 so I guess I don't see where you are coming from with the whole defeatist attitude. For me the whole issue comes down to prolife vs pro death. Yes laws have been enacted by prolife legislators that have begun to reduce the number of abortions, but if we lose the momentum by putting Obama in for another 4 years we are sunk. John Y is right about Supreme Court nominations. We simply cannot allow the dems to have another 4 years. So yes,I will vote for a flip flopper because the repubs are the only ones who hold out any hope of saving some of the unborn from a gruesome death.
The arguments you people make about Romney being a flip flopper and a cultist are true. But let me ask you- would it be better to have someone who flipped to pro life or someone who is staunchly pro abortion? is it better to have someone who flipped to anti gay marriage or someone who is staunchly pro gay marriage?
I think we have to take a chance on Romney even though he has flip flopped because at least there is a chance. With Obama you already know what's coming and it isn't good, in fact, it's an even more radical communist agenda. To not vote or to vote third party is to vote for Obama and more of the same.
“ Shocking Conclusion ” Wow! I was shocked as I heard the account of the survivors from the sinking of the Titanic. May God help us to think and act correct in these days when our nation is sinking, and when our chances to rescue the perishing are diminishing.
