]]Rev Foster 'Those were days of blessing and revival. From 1964 until 1974, hundreds of people were converted, largely under the ministry of Dr Paisley and some twenty new Free Presbyterian congregations were formed. There were some 25 ministers in the FPC at that time and they laboured alongside Dr Paisley in the battle for souls and the Crown Rights of King Jesus. To a large degree the harvest gathered in then was the fruit of the previous 20 years of Dr Paisley's province-wide crusade against the apostasy of the the Presbyterian, Church of Ireland and Methodist denominations' Rev Foster. I am busy reading The Ulster Awakening-an account of the 1859 Revival in Ireland-the last great awakening in the UK. Worth reading! Interestingly the version was the KJV. The above comment by Rev Foster and the last time hundreds were converted but over a greater time period-1964-74. Again the KJV. Let us put an end to the attacks on the KJV. The ecumenical apostates and world council of churches don't use the KJV, that tells its own very BIG story rather than daft comments like the Mormon cult use the KJV so don't give out KJV John's gospels Mormons also used the KJV in 1859! |

Those familair with the work of Dr James White-his opposition to KJO'ism, also know that he holds the KJV as a good translation even prefering the KJV reading of I Tim 3:16 'God'. (Most glean arguments from Bro White or Carson and think Ripplinger or Ruckman are the defenders of the King James rather than more scholarly Reformed folk like the Trinitarian Bible Society)"I am not in any way seeking to stop those who use the KJV from reading that venerable translation. This book is not against the King James Version . . . However, I do oppose those who would force others to use the KJV or risk God’s wrath for allegedly questioning His Word. I oppose KJV Onlyism, not the King James Version itself (p. VI). (James White) Venerable: commanding respect because of great age or impressive dignity; worthy of veneration or reverence The problem with Jim Lincoln is that his attack is evidently on the KJV itself, with a total lack of respect for a formal equivalent and accurate translation undoubtedly blessed of God for over 400 years and used in all the great spiritual awakenings and by such men like Spurgeon. Jim's views are 'extremism' way and above the position of those writers like James White-where of course Mr Lincoln gets many of his oppinions. Jimism=extremism |
