I've noticed this. You hand a teenager a tract and they say they're not reading 'all of that'.So you speak to them and they look at you blankly, mainly because most words mean nothing to them, as they have no definition for them. It's like talking to someone who doesnt speak the same language. That however is an educational issue. On a spiritual note, the Bible cannot be understood by unbelievers anyway, not because it is complicated, but because they have not eyes to see or ears to hear. The need the Law first, to convince of Sin, then grace preached to them afterwards. The rest is in Gods hand. I known of a man who couldnt read. God saved him and changed his life, the first book he read was the Bible! Simplification as its so called doesnt help, what needs to be done is correct evangelism, done in the spirit of God and for His glory alone. |
