Please check out Vishal Mangalwadi, his book The Book That Made Your World is eye-opening. His talks are on Youtube. His thesis about the role of the Church as salt and light is very compelling; we as the Church of Jesus are derelict in our responsibilities. VM brings out Church history to bear on how Christianity played an immeasurably big role in modernizing the world as we know it.
Jim, I'd also recommend taking a fresh look at Theonomy, and Reconstructionism. Many good preachers today are, unknowingly perhaps, antinomian. Jesus adviced us to love his commandments. God's law is the basis of civilization.

Jim, and all, Would you read RJ Rushdoony at Chalcedon Institute?
There is another author I'd recommend, Vishal Mangalwadi at Revelation Movement.
The above authors are not connected but come at the same problem from different sides, namely fear and pessimism in the Church and the ostensible withdrawal of Christ's kingdom on earth.

Study theonomy. Study Christian Reconstruction. Semper Reformanda. The government is on His shoulders, all realms belong to Christ. If you will not submit yourselves, your families, your government to Christ and His Law, then you will fall into tyranny and slavery. Read the works of RJ Rushdoony for a start. The Church of Jesus will be victorious because of Christ, He reigns for ever and ever. Amen.

I agree with Jim Lincoln's comments here and previously pointing out Billy Graham and his weak theoloy, they are very relevant. I'm visiting downtown Charlotte, NC, for a work related conference. My taxi ride from the airport took me on the Billy Graham Parkway. In my hotel room, I looked through all the drawers. There is no Gideon's Bible. Not sure yet why it is missing. Outside on the street, I was met by a gay righ downtown ts activist wearing an ACLU T-shirt. Small things. But in the eyes of me as a foreigner, Billy Graham's theology has failed this State and this nation. Christ is not considered sovereign here.

People of all other religions claim their nations for their gods, for their religion. Since the beginning of time, wars have been fought in the name of gods, to please their gods, under the protection of their gods and sacrifices were made to their gods. Today also, people of other religions vote for and appoint leaders of their own religions and ask for laws made according to their own religions. However, Christians now believe the lie of secularism. They are in violation of the first 3 laws of the 10 Commandments. Jesus said to give unto Caesar...and to give unto God... But, Caesar is a man made in the image of God. Therefore, give Caesar unto God. If government is of people made in image of God, give government unto God. Bring all thoughts and all institutions captive to Christ the King.

WP, Vaccination is based on pseudopseudoscience. Jonathan Edwards was killed as a result of taking a smallpox vaccine. The Spanish flu you mentioned, was produced and propagated by means of vaccines. Millions of people are being killed or damaged by vaccines today. The proliferation of autism (yes, there is a link, CDC was complicit in hiding the facts, and the vaccine literature insert mentions autism as a side effect), food allergies, diabetes in kids, cancers especially in kids, etc. are caused by vaccines. Whooping cough, measles, flu are spreading among the vaccinated, showing that they do not work. Vaccines have not caused any reduction in spread of diseases, including polio. What has led to the reduction of disease ratesis good nutrition and hygiene. Please do more research before trusting blindly in the pseudoscience of vaccines and taking a flu shot or pumping kids with toxic chemicals and viruses.

China prints much of the Bibles sold in the US, although the Chinese government prohibits their sale within China itself. If fine paper is in short supply, God will make a way. The first Gutenbergs were printed on reprocessed used underwear accumulated during the Black Plague.

One thing that gave me joy from the short blurb above is that the interviewee has a Persian name. The Church is growing in Iran and among Iranians abroad. Many Persians ended up in the LA area after the Khomenei revolution. Hope more of them turn to Christ from the glitter of Hollywood. The LORD is calling and building up his Church from all over the world. Soli Deo gloria.

Christopher, heavy sand storms (like in Mission Impossible) are extremely rare. When a strong sand storm does hit, perhaps once a year, you shut all the doors and windows, and clean up after as always. Very little sand gets inside unless the windows are cracked open. The air conditioners will need additional cleaning. We are used to having more dust than in some other places, still cars need to be cleaned only 2x a week.The municipality cleans the streets daily. Most high rises have glass facades that are cleaned every month. God bless.-PP.

Yes, take the yoke of Jesusn it is light. Thy rod and thy staffn they comfort me. There is liberty under the law of God.
The default nature of man is slavery, man lives as slaves or as an enslaver. There is no secular way to achieve liberty. One is either under the law of God, theonomy, or under tyranny. If yhe government is of the people, by the people and for the people (A phrase Lincoln borrowed at Gettysburg out of the prologue of the Wycliffe translation of the Bible), then the government must be brought under the yoke of Christ. Lex Rex. On this year of the 800th anniversary of the Magna Carta (which was based on the principle of covenants, and the king being subject to the law of God according to the Bible), which later led to the English and US Bill Of Rights, take some time to study Church history and know that it was the Bible that gave liberty to the West. God bless you. Be ye the salt and light wherever you are and build the city on the hill.

The US gives power to the corrupt UN, the image of the Roman Empire, the New World Order. The US with its TPP, one world dollar currency and supercomputing big data spying machine will give rise to the mark of the beast that will track humans and all financial transactions. The US has satellites, cruise missiles, air craft carriers anding distance bombers, lasers and other weapon systems can rain fire on any GPS location on earth. Of course, the woman on the beast is the Catholic Church which the Reformers already had identified. The pope is a false prophet.
