Oh Jim, how much longer will we bear with you?Why do you post quotes by perverts (i.e. Filipovic)? Her argument is terrible. It's the fallacy of relative privation. And, God had no reason to tell mankind to do anything about "natural abortions" because, aside from taking good care of their own bodies (i.e. stewardship), people in 1400 B.C. couldn't exactly stop the natural loss of fertilized eggs. But, Christians did save babies from exposure in the ancient Roman world, and the mid-wives did disobey Pharaoh. This isn't rocket science. God gave the civil minister one big job... stop the evildoer (e.g. the killing of innocent people). He didn't ever tell the civil minister to create environments wherein life would "grow better." In fighting abortion, Christians are attempting to stop the shedding of innocent blood. They are attempting to retard the guilt of a nation and prevent God's judgment upon all of us (something which has already started, per Romans 1). Give thanks, because his full wrath hasn't been poured upon us all. Humans oppressing humans is a big deal for God, especially the killing of innocent, helpless people. That doesn't prevent Christians from working in various areas to make pregnancy safer for women and their children. |

Jim Lincoln wrote: Marty, I'm surprised you find the parents so helpless. they still has a major effect on a child even if it goes to public school. also you are condemning all public schools being atheist. They are not. there can be some pretty stupid homeschoolers out there as well. they should let the public school system educate their children. 1. I don't condemn all public school use. However (in the USA), there should be a long term goal to get kids out of the Humanist schools (e.g. career change with better hours). Not one school is atheist, but they are all agnostic and humanistic. They deny the first and greatest commandment. If a teacher is openly sharing the gospel, he or she will get fired soon enough.2. People don't need to homeschool. They can use tutors, co-ops, private schools or some combination of all of these choices. 3. Churches can start schools, especially for children in need. Or, churches (sometimes many churches together) can start scholarship funds. Poor people shouldn't be forced to hand their kids to Humanist schools. 4. I doubt you'd be such an advocate for tax funded Islamic or Catholic schools. I guess you think hell for Humanists will be less hot than hell for Sacramentalists, Mohammedans, Hindus, etc. |

Jessica, vigilantism is wrong. I'm not sure if Christians were bombing gay bars, but if they did, that was certainly wrong (even from an old testament perspective). The passage below agrees with your statement, in part; Christ did die for these types of sins too. He saved people from the second death. Again, my comments are only about the duties of civil ministers to punish evil. The rubber really hits the road when murderers or child rapists are allowed to run free under no penalty of law. "9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous[b] will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality,[c] 10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. " |

Jim Lincoln wrote: s c, it is a pity that Christians and well-meaning secularists are taking more note of the Romish agenda, e.g., ]]Catholic Church and politics in the United States or even more dangerous than the liberal agenda, that of reactionary Catholics, which was pointed out more than a century ago, by Pastor Dabney, ]]The Perils of Popery or an article on the assassination of Lincoln, ]]Lincoln's prophetic warning. One should remember Boehner's support of a queer candidate in California, the agenda of even the right-wing Catholics is not Christian. But the world is in God's hands and some Christians and others are aggressively trying to take it out of his hands. This country has had at least a veneer of Christianity through the years, but that has never made it Christian.
