Mike wrote: No biblical requirement for the elect to be fatalist. The elect are not fatalist they are all taught of God IN Christ and predestinated unto eternal life. They are provided with God's gift of faith which includes knowledge and understanding provided by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. With this gift of God they fully trust in God for life and all providence and mercy by God alone. They also present their theology in the Biblical doctrines of Grace aka TULIP. Ro 8:11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. God's PURPOSE: Ro.8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to HIS PURPOSE 29 For whom HE DID FOREKNOW, he also DID PREDESTINATE to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, THEM HE ALSO CALLED: and whom he called, them HE ALSO JUSTIFIED: and whom he justified, them HE ALSO GLORIFIED." God does it all the sinner can do nothing. Halleluiah. ps: God does not provide guns! |

Lurker wrote: but then again Why Lurker is that it?Motto for American Christian? "In God We Trust"? or "In Gun We Trust"? Psalm 31: 15 "My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me." This is the Word of God. Do you believe it? Do you accept the promise of God? Does the gun-toting American Christian trust in God's promise in Scripture? God will protect HIS servants and keep you in HIS providence and for HIS purpose? Is that in your Christian heart? Is that your faith in God? In God We Trust Is this your witness or do you believe God needs the help of a gun, in the life in Christ? Does God allow the possibility of the life of the elect, to be cut off early by some chance encounter with a killer? Is the only way you can prolong the life of the elect to be armed and ready when God has looked the other way? Does life 'IN' Christ belong to the sinner or to God? Is God's purpose served by the Gun? 2Cor 5:17 "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature" Are "new creatures" Not safe in God's purpose? Gal 2:20 "Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God" And what? The gun protects you? |

Lurker wrote: False dichotomy..... If the right to bear arms is not biblical .... It amazes me that ANY Christian cannot trust God for their very existence in HIS providence and mercy. Apparently you are suggesting that GOD cannot protect HIS elect in this world for sufficient time for HIM to carry out HIS purpose in their life. Eph 1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will" Job 12:10 In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind." Also Psalm 31:15 .... I have never carried a gun for personal protection and never ever found the need arise that I should to protect me or my family. My parents and Grandparents never carried guns either for personal protection. Absolutely nothing in the Bible suggests that we cannot trust God with our lives. - AND absolutely nothing in the Bible suggests or implies we should carry personal protection in civilized countries. It is a complete lie to suggest otherwise. The so called Right to Bear Arms is an ancient proviso which has nothing to do with life in todays society. It is way out of date. Hang up your AR's and trust in God. |

2 Tim. 3:16 wrote: The true Christian The "True Christian" trusts in God for life and longevity - NOT in a personal weapon of any sort. I have never owned a gun in my entire life nor seen the need to have one for my personal security or family security in my entire life. The "Right to bear arms" today is definitely not Biblical nor Christian in its invitation to allow the individual to bring death onto the streets. As a "right" it provides for an attitude of lynch mob justice and opens the door to kill your neighbour rather than love your neighbour. The freedom and facility which this proviso to carry a gun brings is obviously a hazardous and risky one which is exemplified by America's regular multi murders. The provision to quote "bear arms" in modern times comes from a historic presence of danger and lack of policing which no longer applies to modern society as can be perceived in other countries. The proviso to carry weapons into everyday community life is entrenched in American history and the modern mind set. History demonstrates a realistic and lawful need to justify the weapon. Modern times are very different in attitude and need. Also now that "gun" has developed into "assault rifle" warns of greater risk all round. |

Left Arm wrote: (1) Down through history, governments have disarmed their citizens only to tyrannize those citizens once they were disarmed. (2) Luke 22:38 And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough. Oh right??? Its all about human rights is it? America wouldn't have human rights without guns eh???Tell that to the Sandy Hook parents and other recent US massacres. (2) Notice Jesus states a couple of swords between a group of people at a time in history when bandits proliferated and justice was localized and in its infancy. What Jesus did not intend is that everybody should carry a couple of assault rifles every time they visited the local mall. |
