John UK wrote: Yes, thanks for that, June. I don't know enough to comment on it. But in the Providence of God I found myself witnessing to a lady last week who, when I asked her if she was from a local church, replied, "I'm a born again Catholic." When I asked her what effect that had on her life, she replied, "I felt led by God to go to my priest to make confession." There's still hope for this lady John. My conversion experience came when I was 42. It was at a time when I was in between jobs. A Baptist woman gave me a Bible which I began reading with compelling interest. Mind you I had never read the Bible in prior days. For not only was I a Roman Catholic by tradition, I was of a worldly spirit. Later I would come to learn that it was the Spirit that compelled me to read God's Word. Much of the Bible was obscure to me in those days. But I persisted in reading it. Indeed I could not put the Good Book down. Ralph will attest to that. It was the Holy Spirit that brought me under conviction of my sins, whereupon I (a lapsed Catholic)felt a need to confess my sins to a priest. It was years later that the Holy Spirit led me out of that cult & taught me that Christ is our Great High Priest & He alone is our confessor! Praise God! |

John UK wrote: I plod on regardless, June. Every day is a day of grace. Interesting what you say about the RCC imploding, you must have some insider info I've not heard about. Your husband is fortunate to have a goodwife to support him. Give him regards from his brother John UK. John, I don't have any "inside info", but when one considers the divisions that are so rife within Catholicism and the infighting amongst those who identify as "conservative / traditional Catholics" as opposed to those who identify as "liberal/progressive Catholics" at the present time it is reasonably safe to conclude their days are numbered. As Christ said . . "a house divided cannot stand". From studying this matter out and observing the comments made by Catholics from both sides of the aisle, it is my humble but informed opinion that they are in self-destruct mode. Their numerous PR initiatives to restore confidence in the formerly faithful who have opted out of the unholy RC "church", the latest of which came in the form of installing a new pope, no doubt with a view to re-inventing themselves, have fallen on deaf ears. The so-called "child protection" measures they have put in place have failed to address the root problems and this is not lost on informed RC's! |

Dorcas wrote: Hello June...haven't seen you post for awhile,so when I saw your comment today, thought I'd take the opportunity to say hello and to give a hearty Amen to your post concerning Rome. What a time to live! Praying for you...and your husbands health. Dorcas . . I honestly believe the times in which we live are as momentous as those of the Reformation. I thank you for your concern . . your prayers are greatly appreciated. Though it is somewhat of a rough path we are treading just now, it is nothing compared to the plight of our Christian brothers and sisters in central Africa, as I am sure you are aware. I cannot begin to imagine the trauma they are going through and the fears which undoubtedly have gripped their souls. Theres is truly a desperate situation and one which requires divine intervention. Psalm 91 is a word in season for these dear souls and for all who are tried and afflicted. Pastor Michael Pickett has recently expounded *verse 14 from this beautiful psalm in one of his more recent sermons, by which we have been greatly encouraged and comforted this Lord's Day! Ps. 91:14: "Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name." |

John UK wrote: Good to see you posting again June. I trust Sherlock is okay? Hey John, it is good to see you are still contending for the faith once delivered unto the saints and though I have not posted at SA in more recent days, I have been commenting for sometime now on various forums online on articles relating to the ongoing global Roman Catholic clergy abuse scandal. Recently though other priorities have emerged and so I have withdrawn from these discussions as well. Unarguably the RC institution is imploding from within right before our eyes in real time. The cracks in her foundation are becoming deeper and wider and her complete destruction appears very close at hand. God is not mocked! On a more personal note, Ralph is laboring under a number of health problems just now and more of my time and energy is of necessity being directed toward his care. Notwithstanding, we have found that His mercies are new every morning and daily we prove his grace to be sufficient for us. Hope all is well with you John! |

A 'MUST READ' for those following this discussion: The Media Myth and Global Cult of Nelson Mandela / by Shaun Willcock Link: http://www.biblebasedministries.co.uk/2013/07/05/the-media-myth-and-global-cult-of-nelson-mandela/Excerpt: “The ugly truth about the world’s favourite terrorist-turned-politician, Nelson Mandela, has been buried deep beneath the media-created myth of the man, who for decades has been given such a whitewashing by the liberal/Socialist media that the real Mandela disappeared from the world’s eyes, and in his place appeared a messiah, a saviour, a demigod, whose only resemblance to the real Mandela was the outer shell. The man who emerged from prison and became president of South Africa was at heart the same man who had gone into prison so many years before, a Communist revolutionary, much older but just as committed to the ideology and the revolution as he had been when the prison gates slammed shut on him.” ***** Shaun Willcock is a Gospel Minister who resides in South Africa. Jim Lincoln wrote: "Ah, June, I'm trying to think of a record of any Pope being or becoming a Christian (the Apostle Peter, who was a Christian was never a Pope!" ******** Me neither ... and Peter was no pope! I agree with you on both points. In speaking with Roman Catholic apologists at various forums in which I participate I always make it a point to affirm that Roman Catholicism is not Christ's Church! In the context of my prior comment . . my prayer was directed to the poor benighted souls who are in bondage to Rome and who through ignorance of the Scriptures, blindly submit to papal rule . . simply because they were brought up in the Roman Catholic tradition to do so! They have a zeal for God but not according to knowledge. (Rom. 10:1-3) Inasmuch as the Lord has graciously delivered me from the antichrist system, it is not unreasonable to suppose that He has others for whom Christ died that He will call out as well. "Salvation is of the LORD" (Jonah 2:9) and "with God all things are possible". (Matt. 19:26) |

Dorcas . . You have spoken the truth in love. ". . what concord hath Christ with belial?" (II Cor. 6:15-17) The papacy is the very seat of antichrist & the RC "church" is the Whore spoken of in Revelation 17. While they purport to be guardians of the Truth, they are in truth, purveyors of lies! Sadly many both in RC and in other denominations who have false ecumenical ties with them are deceived. There but by the grace of God go you and I! Peter Doeswyck, Ex-Jesuit Priest,(D.D.Patrologist, Medievalist, Church Historian) exposes the diabolical deception that forms the foundation for the false "church" of Rome which can be read in it's entirety here: Romanism-Build Upon Forgeries! / By Peter J. Doeswyck / Source/ Website: Mission to Catholics / MTC.org A brief excerpt: Quote: “The entire structure of the Roman Church is built on forgeries, spurious epistles, spurious sermons, spurious miracles, spurious relics, spurious councils, and spurious papal bulls. The Catholic Encyclopedia admits the existence of thousands of forgeries and divides the works of nearly every Father into (1) genuine, (2) dubious, and (3) spurious. Roman inventions as Peter’s martyrdom at Rome (2nd cent.), Assumption of Mary (6th cent (end quote) SATAN is the father of lies! |

Sincere RC's will have a hard time reconciling the current pope's remarks with those of their former pontiff! Speaking “ex-cathedra”, Pope Boniface VIII declared: 1) "We, moreover, proclaim, declare and pronounce that it is altogether necessary to salvation for every human being to be subject to the Roman Pontiff." But GOD's WORD declares: “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4:13) Note: the prior verses, v. 11, 12, reveal that name to be Jesus Christ There is no plainer text in Scripture that puts the Doctrine of Christ in such concise language. Moreover, God's Word as it is found in II John, verse 9-10 warns believers not to receive those who “abide not in the doctrine of Christ”! The censure of Christ falls upon those who “add to and take away from the Word of God . . the Scriptures” (Rev. 22:18-19) That is precisely what Rome has done in proclaiming “obedience to the Pope” as necessary for Salvation. Nothing could be further from the TRUTH! The GOOD NEWS of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ is that . . “He is able to save to the uttermost all those that come unto God by Him.” (Heb. 7:25)Citation: 1) Source: Pope Boniface VIII, Bull Unam Sanctam, November 18, 1302 |

Jim, Catholics are wrongly taught of their church to look to her “pope”, her “magesterium”, her “priests” and her “sacraments” . . to the merits of Mary . . the saints and their supposed good works for salvation. And thus through their traditions they have made the Word of God of none effect. (Mark 7:13) This is a denial of the fulness that is to be found in Jesus Christ alone and the perfect work Christ wrought out for the salvation of His people, which Christ Himself declared to be “finished.” (John 19:30) It denies the sufficiency, efficacy and virtue of the saving work of the Lord Jesus Christ as He is presented in the Gospel, and as such, is God-insulting and Christ-dishonouring. This is not the “truth as it is in Jesus”! Catholics are told what to believe but those who are taught of the Spirit are expressly commanded to “look unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.” (Heb. 12:2) It is by God-given faith we are enabled to do so. Praise God I now possess such faith! Praise God . . I have Christ . . the “one thing needful.” (Luke 10:42) that “pearl of great price”. (Matt. 13:46) “For there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12) JuneAnnette, A Christian & Witness for Christ . . by God's grace alone (Titus 3:3-7) |
