Be careful what you quote Mr Williams....for truly all are equal in God's eyes. We are a all sin-ridden shriveled up souls deservinging NOTHING from God but His wrath.. Now, Galations was written to baptized repentant Christians. Who are still equal in God's eyes except that because they repented of their sins and believed in the Lord Jeaus as their Savior....God sees His Son covering those sun sickened souls. But one has to have both of those key ingredients to become a Christian....acknowledgement that Jesus is the Lord and Savior of your soul AND repentance of your sins. (Where repent means to turn around and do the opposite not just ask for forgiveness). Now Mr. Williams you also have to separate the LGBT individual from their sinful behavior. True Christine's do not exclude LGBT ( or divorced , or those who had abortions) from anything ... Where we draw the line is when we are asked to participate, and therefor ordain or validate, sinful behavior like same-sex marriage (the same for divorce proceedings and going to get an abortion) God says it is wrong so we don't have a choice...we can not condone it. It doesn't limit the defensive action of the victim. Rather it sets the guiltenalty that may be laid on the thief. If you attack the thief and he dies...He (his family) owes you nothing ( no blood guilt) if he survives He had to pay restitution or be sold into slavery! Someone below in comments said we must all agree that the Bible doesn't say we can carry guns....but he forgets that it also doesn't say we can't carry guns either! No mention of guns either way ! They weren't invented yet!
Jesus several times talked about a strong man defending his household. So Jesus was not advocating a defenseless house. Loving our enemies is not the same facing them unarmed and it may even be easier to extend grace from a position of power then from helplessness. Jesus didn't limit the number of weapons the apostles could have ...they only had two swords and Jesus said that would be enough for the purpose He had. He didn't say "go and only get two swords..." God is far from shy about killing. Yes He abhors murder and senseless killing, But when an enemy Atttaxked He lead the battle and often times called on His men to leave no survivors ...even among women and children. True if you pull a gun in self defense , you should be prepared to kill I need be. But being ready to kill and wanting to kill are NOT the same thing. We as Christiand are to be gentle as doves l, But also wise as serpents.
Jesus was not a refugee. Any evangelical leader who claims this is suspect in his ability to handle God's Word. As a human, he was born and raised and lived his life in Israel. He sojourned into Egypt as an infant for a short period to dodge killers ...but his family didn't settle there and start a new life. As God , He create s this planet and everything on it. He holds it all together. He would not be a refugee anywhere in the world ...it is all His! So his time in Egypt is just like you or I going into another part of our home. Jesus was no refugee. What most are asking for with Syrian refugees is to adhere to our strict vetting and background checks... A realistic and wise precaution. We are , as Christians, called to be as wise as serpents ....that doesn't preclude compassion..
To "Christians" who believe that the creation account in the Bible and Groups like AIG are full of lies, and this is what is driving the youth away....You Are Wrong. Kids today are very savvy and astute especially when it comes to hypocrisy. If the church tells them this is the infallible Word of God and then turn around and say well...God wasn't quite accurate in His Word or maybe He was mistaken (or worse He lied to us...) if the kids sense that you don't believe the bible is true, then they won't either (and they may not trust you anymore either!) and if the Bible isn't true then nothing in the Church is true and why should they waste their time with it all? The fact is most Christians are afraid of the world judging them as being different (gasp!) and so they go to church, but the other 6 1/2 days they live like the world does and agrees with the world in its lies. If Cheistian families would live and act like Christians all the time....the kids would see that we all the talk and maybe it is true! It is interesting that the gov't and the pharm. companies claim how safe vaccines are and yet the gov't has had to make special exemption for the pharmaceutical companies that make vaccines to protect them from ANY lawsuits...why? If the vaccines become mandatory then I say, open up the big pharmaceuticals to lawsuits. Tax payers have already spent Billions with a b to cover sickness injury and death caused by vaccines....sounds safe? Let the pharmaceutical companies defend themselves! NCAA is going to be Ina a rough spot...as 13 other states already have this law on the books the federal government does too....there are 20 other states with this legislation pending including Akansas which just passed it...looks like NCAA is going to have to move to Canada...
