Irrelevant Jim. We know that there are Republicans that have supported anti God choices. BUT, the democrats all but demand that you believe their party platforms or they don't want you or let you speak up. If a person claims to be a Christian then they are saying they want to follow Jesus. Jesus said if you love me you will obey my commands. A person should not say I love God and I want to follow Him, then say I'm going to support everything that's opposed to God's command of Holy living. Jim, You quote John MacArthur frequently. I like MacArthur and his teaching. But have you not listened to his sermon posted on YouTube in Oct 2012 titled "Homosexuality and the Campaign for Immorality" where he says that the Democratic party affirms many things anti God and that brings judgement down on a nation? You might want to listen to it. While there are people on both sides who want to do things for gain, we are all sinners who need a Holy God. But it is evident the democrats policies' are anything but Godly.
Jim not only missed the boat, but he wasn't even close to the same dock. The "state public tv system" really Jim. Probably biased toward public school and against homeschooling also. Jim's argument is flawed. Lets use this one example to say this is how all homeschoolers act, when in reality a very small percentage abuse the system. I didn't read the article Jim posted. As Voddie said in the video; why do we turn our children over to Caesar and not expect them to be like Caesar(Romans)? John 13:16 says a pupil when fully trained will be like his teacher. So we send our kids away to be trained in a secular, humanist worldview for 12-14 years and expect them to be Christian. The Bible says we are to teach and train our children, not the world. John Dewey is highly credited for the educational system now and he and others signed the humanist manifesto in 1933 and implemented his ideology into it. He was probably also closer to belief in socialism. The church fought against public education for the first years of being started in the late 1800's. BTW education is not in the constitution.
There is a 2 part series that Voddie Baucham has taught about why we should homeschool our kids called- Children of Caesar. That pretty much was always the purpose. Anyone that has children needs to listen to it. It's informative and convicting.
