JD Said On Eph 1.4 "If that verse would have said that we were chosen to be saved before the foundation of the world, we would be amening one another right now and slapping one another on the back. However, that is not what it says. It says were were chosen "in him" before the foundation of the world"4 According as he hath chosen us IN HIM before the foundation of the world..... 5 Having PREDESTINATED us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, "In Him" All that God the Father did is "In Christ" The whole creation unto salvation is "In Christ" God knew from the "beginning" that the Lamb of God - the Son of God would have to walk among us and by death and resurrection save His chosen people. Thus this does NOT restrict the omniscient perception of our sovereign God, our Father in Heaven. JD you are trying to limit God, by your refusal to accept the simple truth of the words of the text. This is not doctrinal debate. It is just reading what Paul actually wrote. Beginning - Means the real beginning. Chosen before the foundation of the world means the same "beginning." If the "In Him" implied a different time frame (of the act) then the term *chosen-before* would be superfluous. |
