I wonder if somewhere in France, there is a group of churches who think they have discovered the Correct Version of the Bible (in French, of course), the one that God has revealed to them that he has protected and allowed to be passed down to today's date, without changing.

That's about how I see the KJV-Only folk.
I have no problem with them reading their favorite version. The problem is when they propose everyone across the world must use it. In that respect, they become more like Muslims, who believe that their Koran is only valid in Arabic.

In fact, they are 'more Muslim than Muslims' because there is no dispute in the Muslim world about how you interpret this verse or that verse. They are fighting and killing each other over other issues, but not the Koran, which they don't read because most of them can't read Arabic.

Meanwhile, the world continues on with bigger issues that have nothing to do with this issue. People drive down a road and a bridge falls on them. Kids go to school and a shooting gets started. People open a package in Austin, Texas, and..well, you can see how important this is as compared to these things.

This reminds me of the need in the US to teach immigrants English. Anyone who believes that the KJV is the only version that everyone throughout the world can use will agree with me on this, and will be converting their churches into classrooms to offer them free English classes.

I think the KJV-Only folk are much like Muslims who think that the Koran can only be correctly understood in its original language, Arabic.
"Ignoramus Emilkman" has just stated the KJV-Only position clearly, that is so amazingly similar to the Muslim position--that God preserved his word in this KJV.
Logic for him would mean that no other translations are needed , or valid, whether they be in 'Contemporary English" "Today's English" "New International" or German, Spanish, French, Chinese, Russian, etc.
Logic for him would also say that less time should be spent discussing or defending this, and more on teaching English to the many immigrants in the US who do not read English.
If you love the KJV and want more people to read it, then why not teach them English? By the way, they really want to learn English. You can even get visas from Muslim and communist countries to teach English, but not as a missionary.

I think most people have never heard of him, nor his father. Therefore, it may have made more sense to headline the story with "Son of KJV-Only Fanatic Kills Self." That would more correctly identify the story, for those few who are interested in KJV-Only matters.

On that subject, I cannot leave without wondering why KJV-Only folk are not teaching English in their churches to the many immigrants in the US so that they can one day read and understand the KJV. Everyone knows that Bibles in any other language cannot be acceptable to the KJV-Only folk; just take, for example, the Spanish version for Psalm 23:1. Some say it reads, 'El Senor mi pastor es' but others say that is wrong, the correct version is, "Jehovah mi pastor es'
I would guess the same things happen in other parts of the Spanish Bible, not to mention the Russian Bible, the Finnish Bible, the Dutch Bible, the German Bible, and so on.

Attention KJV-only folk: if you really really really believe that the KJV is the Only True Bible, then no other language can be used, whether they call it "Today's English Version" or "Contemporary English Version' or Spanish, German, Italian, FRench, and so on.
Therefore, the Best Thing for You to do is become a missionary in the US, right where you sit! No travel needed. Just go to your church and offer free English classes for all the immigrants in your area, so that they can learn to read the KJV. You can even use select verses of the KJV to teach English (John 3:16, the 'Roman Road' and so forth).
If you are retired, you can teach every night of the week to the immigrants who work during the day. If they work during the night, then you can offer daytime classes. Imagine the impact you will have!

I would like to see what the Rwandan govt. considers to be a lightning-proof building.
As to the KJV only, I think anyone in the US who believes in that should have a large portion of their church converted to classrooms so they can offer free English classes to the many immigrants who cannot read the KJV. Isn't it a crying shame for them to live in the US and not be able to read the Only True Bible? After all, if you cannot trust any other version in English, how can you trust versions in French, Spanish, German, Italian, etc?

The first thing that came to mind was what Jesus said when asked about the people who died when the tower at Siloam fell (Luke 13: 4). Many have a karma-like understanding of God--if I do good things like go to church every Sunday and Wednesday, give ten percent of gross income to my local church, etc., then I will be protected, God will favor me. Even the famous prosperity and positive thinking preacher Joel Osteen says, '..if you stay in faith.'

Always interesting to see the source--Nat Geo of Australia. Not exactly a household word in the US, though I do have my hopes of seeing CNN cover the news any minute now.
Another point is the complete lack of interest that Jews in the US have for what happens in Israel, especially if you compare them to some evangelicals.
When you remember that surveys show a good 30 to 40 percent of US Jews do not believe in God, then it makes sense. Of course, this also means the rest of them are not shutting down life on Friday night to go to their synagogue services, since they don't agree on what is the proper thing to do on that issue.
And most US Jews are life-long Democrats, which makes them shy away from evangelicals.

You have to see it in context, when secular financial guru Suzie Orman is saying, '70 is the new retirement age' because Social Security will not be able to collect enough money from workers to pay for the seasoned citizens requesting it. Of course, this means that you need to plan on taking a lesser amount at age 62 because they will work on cutbacks later, whether that be from direct reductions, or increasing your taxes on why you get.
Most people still think Social Security is their pension, so they spend all they have today. Christian financial guru Dave Ramsey and his staff member Chris Hogan have been promoting that retirement is not an age but a number, when you have enough money saved up to last you until you are ready to kick the bucket.

Hmmm...makes me wonder what the secretary of state has to do with abortion law..probably nothing. Sounds like someone is reaching for straws to support him. Already questions are being raised about the CIA's treatment of suspects (water boarding, anyone?) when Pompeo was in charge.
I always thought Rex was not the right guy. Just because he had a lot of experience meeting with foreign leaders to run Exxon-Mobil did not mean he was a foreign policy guru.
Just saying, Mr. President, why can't you find better people? Doesn't CATO or the Heritage Foundation give their input on these things?
What difference does the Secretary of State make anyway?

Well, if Slick Willie was your husband, you might have good reason to consider yourself as not married. As to white, well, she is just following the self-hating aspect of liberal theology. The problem is that she is then seeking support from white women, so she has to reason around this contradiction. She could say, the white women who did vote for me were good, sane liberals. They were the few who showed up for her campaign rallies.

Their brains are finally maturing at age 25. Neurologists say that's the time it takes for the human brain to mature, and the last part to do so is the decision-making part. Thus, you see under-25 youths doing stupid things on funny video shows on TV. Rarely will you see a 35-yr old, with 2 kids at home, doing anything close to it, unless large quantities of alcohol are involved.
It would make more sense to make all youths in the US serve in the military like they do in Switzerland, before they reach age 25. It would function as that 'coming of age' stage that many today are paying colleges hundreds of thousands of dollars for. Want to see the world?-Join the Navy is the old slogan.

And speaking of science fiction writers who have made a lot of money, can't the same thing be said of Star Trek's creator, Gene Rottenberry? Some might say Star Trek and Star Wars are followed 'religiously' by many.

Aha! I knew there was a Clinton Connection here. The Clinton campaign paid for the (phony)dossier, using a law firm to hide their dirty deed (what would you expect, dealing with them).

I heard of a national convention of a major denomination, and makeup, jewelry, dress was a big issue among the women. The women from the South were more accustomed to wearing makeup, jewelry, and more elaborate clothing than the ones from the North.
Maybe they finally agreed to disagree on the issue.
In Mexico, signs of a Pentecostal Christian woman is wearing long dresses and let their hair grow long. Instead of being plain, that makes them stand out.

Interesting comment 'Adriel' about the KJV. You must believe that no one in the Spanish-speaking churches here on SermonAudio can ever reach the same point, unless you volunteer to teach them English so they can understand the KJV. Otherwise, aren't they wasting their time? And there are many other languages represented by churches here on SermonAudio. Shouldn't you be contacting them to tell them their error in using any other version of the Bible in any other language that is not the KJV?
