"Witness? She was advout Roman Catholic nun..."I did not claim she had perfect doctrine. Pelagius did not either, for here we "see through a mirror half dark..." Better than Calvinism yes, but not all there. However the Christian life is primarily a matter of conduct and is to be measured against the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. She happened to be a Roman Catholic who obeyed the call of the gospel. John Flavel, Joseph Alleine, and Jonathan Edwards happened to belong to one of the worst religious groups in history. Yet they themselves, as individuals followed the call of Christ. You exhibit more and more your carnality even in the simple matters of judging the "tree by its fruits." Paul provides a divine standard of judging "good fruit": "the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law." Yessir, methinks Mother Theresa is anumbered' among the saints [very few, if any here will be, quite naturally]. |

Michael enviously attacks: "Failure to witness to Muslims and Hindus of their desperate need to receive Jesus Christ, the only name given under heaven among men whereby we must be saved - would certainly qualify her as a quite wicked sinner... "She failed to witness?? Oh, you mean she failed to go around passing out tracts and chose rather to be a living witness to Christ in the flesh? Oh maybe you mean she failed to witness in the way our 'Christian' boys are doing in Iraq, and thought rather to draw with "love and kindness?" She didn't come close?!?! My man, she was the living embodiment of Him who preached and taught a gospel of glorious perfection and of her [unlike you heathen who have no merit of your own by grace, and must therefore appeal to the Incarnate Christ's merit who lived and died {and rose}2,000 years ago]it could truly be said, "Yea not I, but Christ ever liveth in me..." For her to "live was Christ, and to die was gain." Don't try to downgrade M.T. to your carnal level simply because you find you cannnot meet so high and noble an example, because you cannot be "the salt of the earth," or a brilliant "light to the world." |

Mike jests: "So you think Mother Theresa is good enough for "sainthood" and heaven itself? Apparently you know more than God as Scripture, that would be God's Word, Stoney, says: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Seems like M.T. didn't quite make it unless God is a liar."Why didn't Mother Theresa make it again??? Because all her conduct betrayed the fact that Christ was in her, the "hope of glory"? Because she actually lived out the Sermon on the Mount? Because she renounced the world, crucified the flesh [which we admit HAS sinned, and come short of the glory of God] and was resurrected a new creature in Christ? Because she didn't waste her time arguing man-made speculative theology but rather spent her time in "doing the will of the Father"? Because her life was one, in ACTUAL FACT, WORTHY of IMMORTALITY! Because she was "pure in heart??" Because she "clothed the naked," visited the sick, fed the hungry, and gave drink to the thirsty??" Perhaps you and the others are envious of one so infinitely superior to yourself, so supremely more pleasing to God, endowed with far greater supernatural grace, one who embodied and represented the highest and noblest of Chri |

Michael from NY inquires: "...why you are so mad that we wretches simply believe the truth that God is merciful and has given us eternal life as a gift?"That eternal life is a gift given without any judgment whatsoever, given to any rascal that happens to be "elect" is indeed abhorrent to all reason, common sense, and yea, the very Word of God itself. All three witnesses concur that a human life, as it is commonly lived, is so base, selfish, wretched, worthless, and stupid as to be completely unworthy of eternal life, especially in the "kingdom of the saints". Imagine for a moment...John Calvin on the one hand, inferior in moral conduct and in great want of spiritual life "elected" for nor reason at all, to ETERNAL LIFE whereas Mother Theresa on the other, rising to a high and noble elevation of spirit, cleaving to perfect obedience, demonstrating the fruits of the Spirit and loved by all those who are "least of these," "elected" to hellfire for no particular reason whatever but the "glory of God." You are very sick people. |

Any comments Jesus??Jesus: "You therefore MUST be PERFECT, as your heavenly Father is perfect." Jesus: "If you love me, you will keep my commandments." Oh Christ! Those who do not "keep your commandments" do not love you??? Then they are at enmity with you, are they not? Surely they cannot enter the kingdom of Heaven for they do not even love you? Hmm...then we may say truly that those who keepeth not your commandments are damned. The corollary of course would be that we must keep your commandments to be saved! But Augustine and Luther and Calvin would disagree. You then, needs be a false teacher preaching against the doctrines of TULIP! Pelagian! Heretic! |

What say you Peter?Peter: "For if, AFTER they have ESCAPED the DEFILEMENTS OF THE WORLD through the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are AGAIN ENTANGLED in them and overcome, the last state has become WORSE for them than the first. For it would have been BETTER for them never to have KNOWNthe way of righteousness than after knowing it to TURN BACK from the holy COMMANDMENT delivered to them." Peter! You are preaching Arminian heresy!!! You are claiming the saved, that is, those who have "escaped the defilements of the world," who disobey the holy command of Christ are in a WORST state than they were before being saved. They are as you say, like a dog who has departed from his vomit only to return to it in due time! Oh Peter, you and the heretic Paul are preaching "costly grace" and salvation by obedience. Heretics! |

Mike from Pa declaims mightily with absolute conviction: "I suggest you ponder the scriptures before quoting verses to prove your idea that people "lose" their salvation by disobedience."Apsotle Paul, who knew he himself could be found a "CASTAWAY" replies with "plainess of speech" and lucidity: "For IF WE GO ON SINNING DELIBERATELY AFTER receiving the knowledge of the truth, there NO LONGER remains a SACRFICE FOR SINS, but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries. Anyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy on the evidence of two or three witnesses. How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one who has SPURNED THE SON OF GOD, and has profaned the blood of the covenant BY WHICH HE WAS SANCTIFIED, and has OURAGED the Spirit of GRACE?" Oh my, Paul! Are you saying that one who has been SANCTIFIED by the "blood of the covenant" will await the fury of eternal hellfire for disobedience? Will recieve a worst punishment than death??? But I thought Christ's righteousness would cover our sins?? How then can you say "if we go on sinning..."?? Oh, my indeed. |

b.a. explains: "...you will see that they are clearly saying that Christ's death simply makes salvation possible and that the actual ground for salvation is obedience and not Christ's substitutionary death on the cross."I, for one, wholeheartedly agree with this sentiment. Oh, and so does Paul: "But now that you have been SET FREE FROM SIN and have become SLAVES OF GOD, the fruit you get leads to SANCTIFICATION and its END, ETERNAL LIFE" A slave of God will obey his master in all things, and his reward will be eternal life. |

As usual, the carnally minded vainly attempt to prooftext verses, in order to support their carnality. Michael cites the beginning of the sixth chapter in Galatians about bearing the burdens of brethren and correcting those in error to vindicate debauched fornicators and adulterers in the Body of Christ. Yet he fails to cite the whole text in its context."Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who SOWS TO HIS OWN FLESH[sins] will from the flesh reap CORRUPTION, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, IF we do not give up." Btw, the One who "was reviled and reviled not," always spoke the truth when it came to judging those who profess to be God's people. To cite one example among many, "You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?" I won't even mention the exchange when he exposed them as "children of devil." Paul himself if you remember, has some very harsh words for the circumsion party. To speak the truth without sentimentality is not be a "reviler." |
