I have met people in churches who claim to be Calvinist, but you can hear from their remarks and statements that they are not. Some people seem to like the prestige of being called Calvinist, but don't really provide much evidence of studying and understanding what it really means theologically. This stat quote is a blatant oxymoron.... -- "A greater number of Reformed/Calvinist pastors identified themselves as theologically liberal (17 percent)" It seems to become like the term "evangelical" which has been so redefined, over recent years, that some church goers wouldn't know its real meaning from "epeolatry" ___________________________ Of course as Jim Lincoln will tell you, A good Calvinist is a King James Bible user. Isn't that right Jim. |

"Leaders believe this approach will make faith stick so young people will retain their faith when they go to college or into the work world."I guess the Holy Spirit does not get involved with "making faith stick" in this church!!! Salvation by works - Does not work!! When faith is an intellectual assent in the sinner then the greatest problem it has is being human and not divine. Thus does it fail to be a Christian life for the individual involved. The heart is not quickened and Satan and sin quickly turn it into all kinds of religious fallacies such as Liberalism, Roman Catholicism, J.W.ism etc and the cult takes root. Salvation is not lost by these church goers because it was never available to them in the first place. Eph 1:17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: 18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, 19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, |
