Hear all ye who doth post on the SA forum, even ye which do post by computer, yea even ye which do post by tablet or by phone. Behold how that Jim doth not understand that which hath been written in old English. Yea, even that English which doth use words as "thee," "thou," "thy," and "thine." Therefore, if thou shouldst desire to write that which may not be understood by him, do so as I have done unto thee: even write thou in old English. For it shalt be that when thou shouldst do so; lo, he shalt be confounded. Yea he shalt be confounded from rising of the sun until the going down of the same, so that it wilt not be knownst to him what thou shalt write, neither shalt he know the meaning thereof. And lo, if thou shalt hear my words which I write this day, and if thou, even thine own self, shalt write in the manner thereof, he wilt be as one who graspeth at the wind; even as one who voteth for liberal politicians. And he shalt post links. Yea and his links shalt be many and they shalt be repetitive. And ye shalt know in that day, even that selfsame day, that a great confusion has been wrought amoungst thine boards; when thy words which thou shalt write do cause him to be confounded.
Makes more sense to me than Jim's posts.

There is no scripture ..changing the Sabbath, from the 7th to 1st day.
So I would be grateful if you could show me otherwise
The example of the NT church:

1.Jesus rose from the dead on the first day of the week (Matt 28:1-7).
2.Jesus appeared to the disciples on the first day of the week (John 20:19).
3.Jesus appeared inside the room to the eleven disciples eight days after the first day of the week. The Jewish way of measuring days meant that it was again Sunday (John 20:26).
4.The Holy Spirit came on Pentecost, the first day of the week (Lev. 23:16, Acts 2:1).
5.The first sermon was preached by Peter on the first day of the week (Acts 2:14).
6. 3000 converts joined the church on the first day of the week (Acts 2:41).
7.The 3000 were baptized on the first day of the week (Acts 2:41).
8.The Christians assembled broke bread on the first day of the week.
9.The Christians also heard a message from Paul on the first day of the week (Acts 20:7). Note: the reference is until midnight - not the Jewish method - but the Roman system.
10.Paul instructed the churches to put aside contributions on the first day of the week (1Cor 16:2).
11.Jesus gave the apostle John the vision of Revelation on the first day of the week (Rev 1:10)

Sorry, friend, you are in a different track of thought all together.
Though what you state is true, this is not what it was being conveyed, discussed or talked about, neither was the heart of the matter in question. Sorry to say you are in a different trail of thought.
Please, you are welcome to explain the connection you make with the topic discussed.
No intent to offend, just being honest in case you have misread the thread's direction.
Take care
Your contention is that the reformation was mainly aimed at the religious world and did not entail in the main the political world. What I am saying is that the reformers saw the church and state as one and the same and therefore in their minds there was no such distinction and therefore political activism was viewed as a legitimate way of advancing the kingdom of God.

There was a measure of political factor, but the Reformation thrived on the wings of a biblical belief system. ...
You err greatly.

The reformers, like the Romanism from which they emerged, viewed the church and state as one, and that is why every individual born was baptized into the church and seen as part of it.

Why do you suppose that they were so jealous to retain infant baptism? Or come to it the power of the magistrates, who they assumed should always be Christian?

Some Christians seem to think that wholesome apples can make rotting apples better if placed in the same barrel! And, somehow this madness is perpetuated from generation to generation and then these same Christians wonder why Christendom is at such a low ebb!

Because God had chosen to 'rest' after six days of creation - HE then *blessed* and *sanctified* A DAY - BECAUSE He had rested from creating. The day commemorates GOD's rest.
And likewise the Lord of the Sabbath rose on the first day of the week and entered his rest - his work was finished and the day of rest for Christians became therefore the first day of the week. Only the Lord of the Sabbath had that authority to change the day. The moral obligation to observe the Sabbath has never been abrogated.

Not all puritans were separatists. Many thought that the CoE was capable of reform from within and therefore remained within.

Want to give examples 1517, explaining how 'proper church teaching' differs? Please also explain how one recognises 'proper church teaching'? What it looks and feels like?
Thanks.

Matt 19:8 He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.

Heterosexual Christians may jump from bed to bed to bed as long as they remarry and repent. Homosexuals must never be party to such sin.

We watch heterosexual Christians engage in strings of adulterous relationships but as long as they finally marry someone and repent, they're good to go with God. However, Christians with powerful same-sex attraction must stay celibate. If you're born with an opposite-sex attraction, you're blessed. If you're born with a same-sex attraction, you're accursed.

John for Jesus wrote:
Whenever someone gets divorced and then marries someone else, they have commited adultery.
MacArthur clarified that the adulterer must repent. Once he remarries and repents of this sin, he's no longer an adulterer.

Homosexuality is entirely different than adultery. You just repent of adultery, but stay married to your 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th wife and you'll get to heaven.

But if you're married to your first same-sex spouse, you can't repent of homosexuality, stay married and still get to heaven. You have to break up even if you love the Lord, are 100% pro-life and have four or five children with your gay spouse.

Heterosexual Christians may jump from bed to bed to bed as long as they remarry and repent. Homosexuals must never be party to such sin.
