So what you and Brother Saint John are saying is that neither of you have an inerrant Bible?Unprofitable Servant wrote: why pastor, doctor, bishop, elder, evangelist, brother, saint "Elmer" you have such a dilemma. Maybe you should concentrate on it rather than random posts here on SA. How do you know if the English translation is the accurate one???? What if you are supposed to use the Spanish or German one instead? People used to use the Latin Vulgate and before that the Greek Septuagint, maybe that is where you should go, who knows???? Maybe your only hope is to become a scholar of Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek. Oh, and then you should also develop a time machine so you can pick up the original manuscripts. Of course you might could exercise faith that you have a reliable copy of the Word of God to study and that it is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteous, but you are only choosing to rely on man's reasoning not faith. If I were you I would give myself to finding an answer to your dilemma and then you can come back and enlighten us. |

Is it true that the Jews do not believe in eternal torment?ladybug wrote: Dolores, you say "Interesting that Dr. Carson is Seventh Day Advent and lost as a goose because he is." One is not saved based on their denominational allegiance, one is saved by God's grace. With that said, here's what the Seventh Day Adventist church teaches: they believe that Christ is Michael the Archangel, that Satan will bear all our sins, that death means you no longer exist, and that hell is not eternal. These are just some of their unbiblical teachings. This denomination is founded by a 'prophetess', Ellen G. White. It's hard to fathom that an entire denomination is built upon a woman and her dreams and visions and NOT solely upon the written word of God. In 'The Great Controversy' she wrote, “How repugnant to every emotion of love and mercy, and even to our sense of justice, is the doctrine that the wicked dead are tormented with fire and brimstone in an eternally burning hell; that for the sins of a brief, earthly life they are to suffer torture as long as God shall live.” {source - ]]http://www.challies.com/articles/the-false-teacher.. } |
