GG wrote: If I understood what BXVI said to Hawkin, he was merely assuring the scientific community that, Bible-beater venom aside, there is no barrier between faith and science. A casualy reading of the article seems to imply that no discussion of "Evolution" was had, simply an attempt to build a commonality between two old adversaries. If Science is really after the Truth, which is something mankind must insist upon, then there should be no fear that Science will banish an honest belief in God. Faith says that God, "Did it!", and Science will one day show vaguely how it was done. The problem is a Faith that insists that it knows everything, when "all Knowlegde" is clearly beyond us, or a Science that forbids the possibility that Nature is ordered by an all powerful entity. God's ways are too vast to be contained even in as wonderful a book as the bible. Words fail to describe the glory of God. GpopeG strikes again. The usual pro-pope misinformation!! Christians do not build commonalities with adversaries!! What fellowship has darkness with light and what accord is there between Christ and Belial!! HAVE NO FELLOWSHIP with the unfruitful works of darkness but reprove them!!!! 2 Corinthians 6:14,15 - Ephesians 5:11 - |

Scott McMahan wrote: The censorship simply won't work. You'd think by now that anyone could figure that out. Amen! You cannot legislate morality and you cannot 'ban' it out of existence. Beside, those who want to promote their agenda WILL! One way or another! |

GOOD!!! Now, maybe, we will begin to see a separation of sheep and goats. This nation, both socially and religiously, is so hell-bent on materialism that if God strikes our economy He will have hit us in the one spot that will make an 'overall' impact. In fact, economy is more of a god to most Americans, including 'christian' Americans, than the one true God is. |

A new category...'Faith Based Voters'?? But faith in what? What is faith, if it has not Christ as it's object, except wishful thinking? Oh well, who cares as long as it garners votes for 'faithless' politicians!! |

Scott McMahan wrote: People still watch network TV!? This is the thing that confounds me. Network TV is just plain dumb! The comedy stinks (not that I've watched that much of it) and the acting is atrocious. I guess that the dumbing down of America is more advanced than I thought! |

Mike wrote: Hi, FR, I have no problem with the chapter titles either. God is certainly sovereign. But rather than me read the book, I think Bible Thumper who won't directly answer certain questions, but recommends the book, should point out to me where in the book the answers are. After all, if he has been convinced by Pink, then he should be able to show me where the convincing points are that convinced him. I understand that he may feel that I could become of the reformed persuasion, if only I might read it. To save time, lets say that won't happen, whether I read it or not. In any case, repeatedly saying God is sovereign (done much here) is not an answer when His sovereignty isn't the question. Many people think that they believe in the sovereignty of God until they discover what that truly means. This book is an entire work that must be read in it's entirety to get the full and accurate picture. One small part, although possibly helpful, is just that, one small part. |

Faithful Remnant wrote: Just looking at the titles in the contents, I would say Pink's work makes sense to me. I glanced at the section about God's sovereignty and salvation. God is sovereign, no doubt and that certainly gives me peace. Give it a whirl, Mike. Thanks Faithful!! |

Perhaps, JUST PERHAPS, God will open young Schuller's mind to the doctrines of demons preached by his reprobate father and the truth of scripture! Pray for that!!! |

KK wrote: Mike / NY Evidently BibleThumper is one of those who clings to ReLiGiOn that promotes a system without "FREE WILL" ----- he doesn't believe man has a participatory "CHOICE" WITHIN THE CONSTRUCT OF GOD'S DIVINE ENTERVENTION !!! Free will in a limited sense, yes, free will to rise above God's will? Not possible!!!! P.S. has Mike NY ventured into Pink's work yet???? It explains what I cannot in a few words! KK, repentance is a gift of God to men not their own work initially!! Acts 11:18! |

Pikestaff wrote: I believe the problem with your scenario is that you are allowing the so called "celibate" homosexual, to retain their conviction that homosexuality is somehow acceptable to God. Clearly it is not. Lev 18:22 "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination." - Thus even the concept of this act is an abomination. Then Jesus said on adultery that; "But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart." Matt 5:28. If the thought of lust/adultery is this sinful, then entertaining the idea in society, whereby homosexuality is acceptable - if latent - is acquiesing to evil lusts. Further we only have to remember the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah to observe God's total rejection of it. WELL said!! |
