There is so much focus on worship or praise music these days that it almost seems as though the word of God itself has taken a back seat to this form of entertainment. This is nothing more than chaff compared to the wheat of God's word. Every band and musical style is here today and blown away by the wind tomorrow. No where in Scripture are told to base our faith on the emotionalism of music but on the foundation of God's truth. We need to limit the Christian mini concerts that are getting passed off as worship in our churches today.
"I would refuse to go to a homophobic heaven"? Does Bishop Tutu not know his Bible? Jesus said that those who are counted worthy to attain that life neither Marry nor are given in marriage, but are like the angels. Paul said in Christ there is neither male or female but a new creation. Apparently Bishop Tutu believes that the kingdom of God is just an extension of life on earth. I think the Bishop needs to read his Bible a little more carefully.
By allowing such an organization to engage in discussions with Christians lends legitimacy to the wicked and unbelieving. We are commanded to be simple concerning evil (Romans 16:9). I don't need to have conversations with the wicked to discover that their lifestyles are evil!
Even if the church remains silent, God will not! Even now the hand of God's judgment is beginning to fall. We've become a debtor nation, we have no defense against local terrorist threats, we've been hit with one natural catastrophe after another, aliens and strangers are becoming the majority in this country, and our leaders are so weak nations no longer fear us, e.g. North Korea. God has made us the tail and not the head! Need I say more?
Great Sermon! I'm in complete agreement. A line has to be drawn, otherwise people, including Mormons, will persist in believing a lie. Jesus said, "don't be deceived, many will come in my name but they are false prophets". Was Jesus guilty of name calling? No, He was calling His disciples attention to beware of false teachers and their doctrines. By remaining silent on this issue it will give many the false impression that Mormonism is another aspect of Christianity, which it clearly isn't!
God bless you brother! That is one Spirit inspired message! It's time for Christians of all color, gender, and ethnicity to wake up to what these politicians are doing to our country! God give us ears to hear what the Spirit is saying to the church in these last days!
