"(1) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that = (2) whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16.

Part (2) of the verse already splits the "world" into two divided parts. Therefore the term "world" never was written to imply ALL mankind in the first place.

WHOM God loved is a bone of contention for some people, for example those who believe mans (free)? will has a contribution to make.

Question whom does God love?
Does God love anyone unto salvation by their own effort/value/merit? No.
God loves *His* people *in* Christ, since only they will be saved IN Christ.
Those who are not IN Christ are not loved by God and will not be saved.

Lets face it God's love will not be thwarted.

Romans 3:23 For *all* have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. = (*us* being the saved/resurrected elect)
1John 2:5 But whoso keepeth his word, = (How many actually *KEEP* God's word?) = in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

“If you ask me today, is it possible to live to be 500? The answer is yes,”

The PreMillennialist is going to live for 1000 years.

The Christian is going to live for eternity.

The reprobate is going to exist in hell for eternity.

The Arminian is going to make his own plans based upon his own decisions.

The Elect are going to the Kingdom of God to live with God for eternity.

So 500 years is a drop in the ocean.
500 years in a fallen world would be hell.

John for JESUS wrote:
It was for His disciples
"The Judaic and Johannine background explains the strange and possibly misleading expression "baptism in or with the Holy Spirit." For it carries with it the suggestion that God's Spirit is an element an energy or an instrument, rather than a person. The outpouring of the Spirit Joel 2:28,29 Acts 2:17,33 similarly reflects the OT thought of the Spirit as God's invisible power, manifest only in its results. When the fully Christian conception of the Spirit is reached as a divine person, as Christ's "other self" John 14:17, 16:7, 2Cor 3:17, "the Spirit of Jesus" Acts 16:7 - then to speak of "pouring" or "baptism in" the Spirit would seem no longer appropriate.

This distinction between the Spirit as person and the Spirit as element or energy is of practical importance, lest a careless use of words lead us to suppose we can manipulate the Spirit's power rather than surrendering to the Spirit's will (see 1Cor 12:11) That danger noted the phrase "baptism in the Spirit" is not more vague or nebulous than "baptism into Christ" Gal 3:27, "baptism into his death" and resurrection Rom 6:3,5 "baptism into one body" (of Christ 1Cor 12:13)" (R.E.O.White)(Elwell Evan Dicty)

John for JESUS wrote:
assuming the baptism
(1) "Holy Spirit baptism was a PROMISE...
a. To the apostles. After His resurrection, Jesus said to them, “...you will be baptized with
the Holy Spirit not many days from now” (Acts 1:1-5). He commanded them to go to
Jerusalem and wait for the “Promise of the Father.”
b. Administered by Christ. John the baptizer, quoting God the Father, said Jesus “baptizes
with the Holy Spirit” (John 1:33; c.f., Matt 3:11; John 14:16-17, 26; 15:26).
c.

(2) Water baptism is a COMMAND...
a. To everyone. Jesus said, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing
them... (Matt 28:18-20; Mark 16:15-16; Acts 10:48).
b. Administered by men to accountable people . “Philip and the eunuch went down
into the water, and he baptized him” (Acts 8:38).
c. Carried out by God’s authority. “...in the name of the Father...Son...and Holy Spirit”
(Matt 28:19)." (C.B.Jennings)

John for JESUS wrote:
assuming the baptism
Receiving, being filled, being baptized in/with the Holy Spirit.

"One major difficulty which immediately faces this doctrine is that the language of the New Testament simply will not allow us to distinguish in this way between being baptized in the Spirit and receiving the Spirit. These––and other terms––are used quite interchangeably. For example, in Acts 1:5 Luke foretells the day of Pentecost as an experience of being baptized in the Spirit. In Acts 2:4 he describes it as being filled with the Spirit. We cannot, in the face of these statements, go on to say that being filled and being baptized are two different experiences. On the other hand, the same experience is foretold in Acts 1:8 as the Holy Spirit coming upon them; and described in Acts 2:38 as receiving the Spirit. Putting all these together we have to conclude that having the Spirit come upon us, receiving the Spirit, being filled with the Spirit and being baptized in the Spirit are one and the same experience." (D.Macleod)

J4J your problem is in interpreting the so called "baptism in the Spirit"

I wonder why God wrote....

Isaiah 3:12 As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.
