Now, US Prof's deny that nature has anything to do with a person’s sex. That’s because of the influence that feminism and “queer theory,” as it is called, have on college campuses. For both of these philosophies, the idea that there is such a thing as fixed or biologically determined human nature, especially with regard to sexuality, is the enemy. If we are, as the Scriptures say, created male and female, then this limits our personal autonomy—which is, after all, the summum bonum of modern American life. And so postmodern academics replace the word sex with gender, a word historically associated with classification&description. This enables feminists to claim that the qualities normally associated with the sexes are socially constructed, that is, imposed from without as opposed to being inherent. “Queer theorists” depict human sexuality as a continuum instead of an either-or.
But being transgender, as it is called, is a violation not only of the moral order but also of the biological order. It takes a lot more to overcome “male and female he created them” than checking a box on a college housing form.

I don't go to the extremes that Luther did, but I self loathe, to a point, almost daily over my incessant sins. I think some Christians view sin as, "Hey, I've been covered" and don't view them as seriously as they should because they've been paid for in blood. Hmmm...nope...it's those very sins that keep us separated from God Himself. Each and every sin should bother us, no matter how big or small we perceive them as being, and we should never allow this world and all we see and hear going on all around us, daily, to allow us to become complacent. Self awareness isn't an ability everyone has, but self awareness and the self honesty that should follow is what gives us the ability to strive, daily, to become more Christ-like in thought, in deed, and in our speech.

- In a recent interview, Justin Welby, Archbishop of Canterbury refused to call homosexual sex a sin. The archbishop is head of the worldwide Anglican Church. GQ Magazine asked Welby, “Is gay sex sinful?” He replied,
You know very well that is a question
I can’t give a straight answer to.”
When asked, further, “Why can’t you?” Welby replied, “Because I don’t do blanket condemnation and I haven’t got a good answer to the question” (“Archbishop Justin Welby,” GQ, October 2017).
We recommend that the archbishop consult the Bible on the subject. The apostle Paul had no problem saying that homosexuality is sinful. In Romans 1:26-28, he calls it “vile affections,” “against nature,” “unseemly,” and “reprobate.”

Finally, federal law, and DOD regulations protect Col Bohannon’s right to the free exercise of his religious beliefs. The U.S. Constitution, the Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 1993, 42 U.S.C. § 2000bb-1, and Department of Defense Instruction (DODI) 1300.17 protect service members’ rights of religious expression, including Col Bohannon’s right to express his sincerely held religious beliefs. DODI 1300.17, Accommodation of Religious Practices Within the Military Services, states:
Unless it could have an adverse impact on military readiness, unit cohesion, and good order and discipline, the Military Departments will accommodate individual expressions of sincerely held religious beliefs of Service members.
In accordance with this Instruction, Lt Gen Rock should have granted Col Bohannon’s religious accommodation request rather than returning it “without action.” Returning a religious accommodation request “without action” is not one of the options provided by DODI 1300.17.
Moreover, the EO investigator’s statement that “even if [a religious accommodation] were granted, excusing [Col Bohannon] from signing a spouse certificate for same sex marriages, it would not apply in this case” defies comprehension. Such a position renders religious accommodations meaningless. |
