Scott,
Whilst understanding where you are coming from, the problem here is not really only about the Bible! It is the fact that slowly we are being turned intoi a muslim country! This is soimething we are expected to stop and not tolerate! Look what happened and happens to Jews who compromise with the enemy?
In Holland there was a muslim man who refuses to shake hands with women and was therefore refused a job . he took this to some anti-discrimination court, and won! Why is he not willing to take another job as indeed we would?
They always win and we always lose. Quite simply because we are not inclined or able to stand up for ourselves. in a free country ! We may be subject to authority but not to some airline authority. I do not believe that is what the Bible means at all!

I don't think the US supported Saddam killing Kurds, or thousands of his citizens. yes they supported him during Iran/Iraq war. it was a difficult one for the west remember. Should they get involved or not? of course we would rather they did not, but think about it, Iran winning? A middle east eventually under control of the mad ayatollah? SO they supported the lesser of the two evils at the time. This is what politics is all about. It is mostly a gamble. Not nice and never fair.I would not like the respponsibility which is why I take the Biblical command to ¨pray for those in authority seriously.
When the US does something it is criticised and also when it doesn't
it is criticised. I remember all those petitions flying around the net pleading with Clinton at the time to 'do something' about the taliban...
What was he supposed to do anyway?!

OK John Y, I understand better and I
understand your need to worship in a certain way.
Maybe you could find a Lutheran church?
Or worship with likeminded others at a house church, if you felt the need to
change but know not where to go?

I know the problem as I also encountered this at first but noticed it was out of habit, what we are used to brought up catholics. My children, now teenagers never knew the RC Mass so had no problems.

9/11,
It is possible to make phone calls from planes !!!!Has been done although disallowed for obvious reasons.

Sure, those friends of my friend who were on those planes did not really fly and are still alive although it is unknown where they are all part of Bush's plan of course..
Where could they be do you reckon ?

In the days of Jesus, no, there were no flat-packs etc ! In fact in the days of Jesus there was not much at all compared to today.
So what do you 'anti-Ikea' crowd suggest, that we revert back to life as it was 2000 years ago ?
I doubt myself Kenny, if God cares where we buy our furniture , whether we use cardboard, plastic or wood.Do you?
For those with less money, Ikea can be a blessing. It is even a luxury for those with even less money who have to do with second hand
Now tell me, what does God think about buying second hand do you all reckon?
After all goodness knows where it originated

We have done so when just married and no cents to our names... yikes I admit it, have even bought things at Ikea before..they have the very best storage systems around....oh no what a terrible sinner
I am..

Old school
Shhhh, please don't tell everyone that I am 'lady', I prefer to keep my aristocratic status offline
many thanks...

it was muslims who did it
Phone calls from the planes confirm they were arabs and muslims ...who would pretend to be a muslim to obey bush and kill himself ?
'pretend muslims' ? sure like all the other fake muslims committing terrorist atrocities all over the globe
beheadings, riots, war suicide bombings- imans preaching hatred and jihad
are all pretend muslims..all brainwashed by Bush of course..
sigh...

what about that muslim cleric now under lock and key for life who tried to blow up the WTC when Clinton was president?

A friend of mine lost TWO friends each on a different plane that day so do us all a favour and do not blame the wrong people for their murders.
thanks

more Christian attitudes from one of Ricks minions :
critics are either
nuts
over-imaginative or hey
on drugs
hmmmm

ok..why do pastors need to go on a course to teach purpose driven stuff?
and all the expensive way to saddleback in USA ?
Seeing as its not the Bible and just a book written by a human and therefore has no spiritual authority..what is the big deal

I believe too that we are to prepare and that
we have enough warnings in scripture to do so when we see the signs. Indeed they are getting stronger.
Many disagree and believe they will be supernaturally protected without the need to 'do' anything. I hope this is true but am personally not sure.

Throughout history those obeying God escaped. But they had to DO something out of faith. One example amongst many:
In Armenia begin last century an illiterate boy prophet received a message from God at 11 and drew a map. At age 50 God told him to warn others and go.
About a hundred families believed him and left Armenia for the US which they recognised from the map.Two years later the Turks attacked Armenia.

Well Pezz, indeed, who knows what Rick will do next to attract attention?
You are right- ejecting members from a church has all to do with the pastor and not Rick. But isnt it strange that
this happened over the purpose driven programme? These pastors have mostly all attended courses at saddleback at some time or other too.

and yes it happened, and I dislike your demeaning attitude towards brothers and sisters who have experienced such pain. Have some neutral sympathy at least instead of dismissing them first hand in fanatical defence of one man.
he is not a god you know

People trust that which they experience to be trustworthy.

A rather silly survey anyway. It does not mention if they trust God which the church is not !

Old school:
seems I missed that commandment
'thou shalt not shop at Ikea'

Pezz
Books are the least of my problems with warren.
The cultish manipulation is frightening and yet according to you we may not protest this? Do you know how many people have been ejected from churches because they questioned purpose driven stuff? THEY were not I assure you the bitter ones but the ones who threw them out were (warrens lapdogs)

9/11
Agree with you about CFR

Scary thing about Rick is all those I know seemingly brainwashed by him. They become really aggressive when faced with questions as if they feel the need to defend him with their lives!
he has become their god .

We actually made the painful decision to leave our church after Warrens purpose driven drivel was thrust down our throats (or else )Oh yes, if the various group refused to study all this stuff they would lose funding for one example.
For all it's faults the RCC is no worse than all this !

I did not leave the RCC years ago to be faced with other deceptions and so we have remained at home. Not easy with 3 teenagers but through God's grace we are managing and pray, read scriptures at home and with others.
I do not think we will ever attend church again. After a year we were interested in a church only to find out a little later they were joining the purpose programme (for 'growth')

We ran a mile ! It is like some contagious disease !
Our church lost many people over the 'rick question' and may not recover, but as the pastor has now left after ruining ours he has moved on to a better paid post as a Baptist minister (we were an independent church) which he was originally.

“ wonderful sermon ”
Great sermon, on a section of Scripture rarely spoken about . Good insight into the true meaning of service in the church. Very helpful for examination.

Too right Jim, and its maybe too late to turn the tide I fear, as demography alone has us beat as it is.The west especially Europe seems to care little
and I fear an eventual bloodbath when they finally wake up and smell the jihad.God help us all.

Christian persecution worldwide is on the rise .
We must pray for these brothers and sisters and for ourselves, because we in the west will also not escape as persecution is and will come here eventually too

Exactly my point .Fear of islam will be a catalyst. The deception is ecumenism with RCC.Am I not making myself clear in my posts or do others not read them properly?
