"That's a wrap! Thankful to have opportunities like this at a time when there is so much hate and vilifying of Muslims."

The fool is made known by her words.

Thanks for taking the time to consider it and post it here, sure has helped me think about it, but I'm afraid it doesn't help me with the prognosis, in fact I think you're just proving my point, you are saying, "This is how people treat it, therefore it's okay."

2Timothy 3:16 is great on how to instruct someone if they wrong, I don't say I always follow it, I'm not perfect but you sandwich the negative with positive, +--+ that's the sandwich.

I'm curious to what my assumptions were, I don't want unnecessary assumptions.

God bless.

What light can there be in a heart that holds such tangible darkness? I'm afraid the saying of the wise is fulfilled, Their throat is an open sepulchre, and the poison of asps is under their lips.

And John the apostle has shown his testimony to be true, That the darkness hateth the Light, and Jesus as well saying that His disciples shall be hated for His name's sake, and for the truth, but before they hated us they hated Him.

Steve, I will pray for you, I'm afraid that you have a flawed view of faith, for faith in something against the will of God is rebellion and we know that rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft.

Steve, I cannot begin to fathom nor comprehend the fuel by which you run your hatred and insults off of, a confession is needed, not toward or before an old feller in a box, rather towards God Almighty.

And prayer as well, not to a statue, nor towards Mary, not even a saint, but prayer towards He which holds your very breath.

JuneAnnette, thanks for your testimony, it is always good to hear a testimony.

B.McCausland, I've noticed a certain thing, that people are quick to nitpick, and complain about another person, and be slothful in thanking, appreciating, being kind in speech when there is a disagreement and inactive in praying for them.

I think the first thing to do is to take action against the slaughtering of babies, I fear many are so indoctrinated with an erroneous ideal that the church ought not be involved in it, or not be constantly active in the war against it, has only lead to being passive and, though we have an arsenal of resources to save lives, such as pamphlets, literature, DVDS, etc we just turn our eyes away from the war and thus see no reason for artillery.

If anyone wants to know how to be involved in the abortion war in an unbiblical manner, the first thing you must commit to is to not get involved.

Sorry Jon, that last comment was kinda in the works when you posted your comment, forgive me for that brother, I will just close with this, I don't question your salvation, obviously you are passionate about your music, I like your satire, I've seen it in other threads and it puts a smile on my face every time, God bless you brother.

I think anyone who thinks that Pastor Jon is not saved or thinks he's doing something seriously wrong and doesn't pray for him certainly needs to examine themselves, if you're just going to nitpick and not take action, you need to repent, hypocrites nitpick and don't help.

God bless y'all.

Pastor Jon, thanks for answering the question, I do feel that it is kinda fearful the way you put it though, but before I go any further I'm not interested in a debate, I know some people have an attitude, "I'm going to beat this guy" I'm not going to do that, I want to try to reason with you.

I just thought it would be good just to set that forth. Now I your reply was a little troublesome because how I read it was, "Yes it's possible but if so God has not given us tools to discern what is the wrong genre." Since Satan is the enemy of the redeemed and that old serpent and deceiver, I believe that he would invest time in producing a improper genre of worship, and that there would be a way to discern that.

Now, to speak the truth, and I'm not looking to offend you, but that song is blasphemous, "Chilled with no one else" what does that mean? Does God chill with the saved and angels and diss Satan, his host and the unsaved?

" And we can only guess the conversation" I'm not sure there was much debate, Jesus wasn't surprised. And the last part sounds fertility typish, how did we go from God to breeding cows?

Gotcha Dave, that's how I read your first comment that the writer was a "good example of a hyper-Calvinist" I just get frustrated when Christians (like the writer) uses the term "attend church" or "go to church" that frustrates me, oh well not much I can do.

This is for anyone, was John Gill a hyper-Calvinist? I hear some controversy on whether he was or not.

"In 1989, less than one percent of New Yorkers attended church."

I don't attend church, I am part of the church, and I gather with the church, we need to lose this attitude of "Hey honey we're going to be late to church." Christ took the wrath of God for the church, and to say, "attend church" is insulting really.

Now, this happened before, after 9/11 hit (in 2001 time period) there was a great rise in attendance, but that was over, I'm sure more Cubs fans are going to church, and we only know that this is due to Trump being elected for president, and emotionalism.

If this is of God, great, if it is of man, that's not great, they'll receive greater punishment for denying Jesus as Lord.

It is a thing to be lamented, I was reading a commentary of 1&2Peter by R.C. Sproul, and he says when Justin Martyr addressed his apologia, his defense of Christianity, to Emperor Antoninus Pius, he sought to defend the truth claims of Christianity.

Not only did Justin Martyr give the normal arguments for Christianity, he also challenged the Emperor to examine the lives of the Christians, and observe their purity.

R.C. Sproul then says, "No apologist would use that as an argument for Christianity in our culture today. We cannot." What a sad commentary on us.

S.Taylor, I think it's due to a lack of understanding or searching of the holiness of God. By the fear of the Lord men depart from evil, many are so caught up with stuff...just stuff, unnecessary, vain things, a lot of people would do well to say that they live in Vanity Fair, and buy and sell rather than say they are pilgrims and strangers, because their lie puts a blot on those who desire God.

Very funny Mike. Pastor Jon, I would say there would have to be a corrupt form of music because of the nature of man and the Devil, we can affirm that there is a false gospel, can we both agree that there is a false gospel?

Now then, would it be reasonable to say that, since Satan or man created a false gospel, and certainly Satan can disguise himself as an angel of light, would it logically follow that man or Satan can manufacture a genre of music that God is appalled at?

We know that the most important part is the heart, and that's the hard part, it's easy to not listen to a type of genre, it takes the Holy Spirit to guide you on a path of true heartfelt worship...that's the thing at least I pray for, that I have the right attitude of worship, and I hope we all pray that we worship God in spirit and in truth.

Rnel, I like the Galkin Evangelistic Team, West Coast Baptist College, R.C.Sproul's Glory to the Holy One and Michael Card has some good stuff, I have his hymns album.

Before I was saved my playlist consisted of some rock n roll, and parodies, I'm thankful I didn't have any money before I was saved, I would hate bought a truckload of ungodly music.

2nd law of thermodynamics, everything is getting worse, one day we will die, what testimony do we pass on, the great godly men living and dead didn't become spiritually disciplined overnight, rather perpetual repentance, looking for opportunities to abound in the work of the Lord.

Pastor Jon, how about heavy metal rock n roll with deep theologically rich lyrics? Do you accept that form? Where is the standard?

I've listened to African Christian music, it certainly is different, they were singing it in Afrikaans, which made it even more...I don't know, original? I tried singing with the music, still remember some lyrics, just not the translation. I like it, at least the song I listened to.

I've also listened to Indians (Native American) sing and preach, (personally) that is not the most interesting language, not listening to a native American sermon again...and I'm part native American!

Irish or Scottish style can get you in trouble, I listen to Irish hymns and Scottish hymns on my Kindle Fire HD, I listen to that more than any other kind.

All this said, I'm still convinced that there are some musical genres that God doesn't enjoy His name being paraded through, like rock n roll, disco, rap, beatbox...

Dave wrote, " Anti Semitic certainly wasn't what I was suggesting to anyone."

I was kinda startled by Jims link "Exposing Hidden Anti-Semitism in the Church" that's why I put the ,"I hope I'm not being accused of Anti Semitism"

I hope that makes some sense, maybe I'm blabbering, well I'll at least say something edifying, Ligonier has a $5 Friday deal, you can start shopping now, there's about 59 products available for $5 each, I got three and it cost me altogether $15, I think Florida has free shipping in the U.S.A.

Also Living waters has a 20% code you can use for black Friday, it's well worth it.

I must say I'm discouraged as well by many who claim to be independent, fundamental conservative Baptist, who do alter calls, sinner's prayer, don't know how to use the law in the gospel, seem to concern more about the outside than the heart, and they claim and preach that they are conservative then the whole congregation is hoodwinked into thinking that.

Because when someone, a Christian, will say, "Hey, I don't see any scripture to support alter calls." What happens? Everyone will think, "This guy is not conservative, he's not wanting people to be saved he's making it harder."

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding, in all thine ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.
