Allie,
I am with you on the basis of not knowing where Moore is going with this,
I'm not used to baptists being nuanced in how they speak of our place in society. I'm very cautious where his discussion will lead too. I do think too many American Christians church became the RNC. That we allowed ourselves to let others speak for us and it's had results for the gospel is left wanting. Irregardless of the current cultural storm, Christianity has always either led the way toward constitutional form of governance or has helped end tyrannical rule. My caution with Moore is that his articulation of being " kingdom builders" has a litmus test for the local baptist church. When in fact the local church is autonomous and decided it's own ways of preaching the gospel. , missionaries, finances, cooperative assistance and community presence. The local church, as unpolished as it is , is the tip of the spear for the gospel.
That said, having South eastern seminary speak for the whole of the Sbc is bit too catholic for my tastes. Having one voice is rather undemocratic given the historical basis for a congregational led denomination.

It's a paradigm shift to go from the known RNC based Christianity to a political pariah in your own country. I think that the harvest was left in the field and tares and goats came to graze. That said, if we are to magnify to risen Savior as his bride, then we need to act as if we've been redeemed.

Yes and now he's invited Oprah and Matt Dameon to the Vatican. Man, Pope Fransis needs to update his cable plan. Oprah isn't on tv and Matt's movie list seem to go to video. But then perhaps he is gathering all the forces evil to one place for the one world religion- babylon.

Hill song is a entertainment "Christian" cabal . How you do effectively minister to souls in an amplitheater. How many "Jesus is my boyfriend" albums or concerts do you have to sell before you've sold out too the world, that ship sailed with the advent of CCM. Just look to Brian Houston's salary for that answer.

The gay activists have been given a green light by Justice "bull Conner" Kennedy. This woman needs our prayers for protection. For threats and violence will be apon her and any person who would rather follow Christ than men.
It is the sign of a bully that picks on clerks, bakers or flowerests. Homosexuals activists are definitely the example of " pearls before swine". We dearly need to be discerning of presenting the gospel before a rich field for harvest and wasting our hope on those who have rejected and are rejected by God. Homosexuality is the cause of God's hand being lifted off and one being left to their own devices.

A friend who is from South Korea has said that the North Koreans know most if not all individuals who have come to the US or west for education, work or due to faith who are from South Korea. They (NK)await for that person to return to South Korea to visit family. However, many run the risk of kidnaping either in transit to Japan or in South Korea. My friend said the DRNK tracks their flights through passport or state department manifest. Scary times that is overlooked.

310,000 jumped the fence and that's fine, but we need to detain these 27, ... So we can possibly send them back? This administration can build the Democratic Party on the wave of people allowed in without recourse but will retain 27 Iraqi Christians yet has plans to settle 90,000 Muslims from the Middle East without problem. Does your congressman answer his or her phone anymore?

The likelihood is that North Korea entices pastors or missionaries are being diplomatically kidnaped and held till we pay some amount of money or the good pastor is sent to break rocks. Is it possible to be wise in such situations or flattered for the invite to your own imprisonment.

It is said that Islamic converts to Christianity have had similar dreams of Jesus, not unlike a road to Damascus experience. In spite of sever persecution people are converting, God's grace and mercy is overwhelming and I pray those called continue to respond.

Amen MC, amen. To end papal authority would mean the Catholic Church would end it's imprisonment of the souls of 1 billion people.

Pagan communist culture meets up with our pagan communist culture. Vietnam and the whole of Southeast Asia will do whatever it takes to keep China form annexing their counties.

Col. Peron had quite a history against the United States during WW2, his legacy continues through out South and Central America, Cuba and Washington DC. Hopeful the Roman Catholic Church will have a belly full of Pope Francis, and decide to end papal authority.

During the holocaust, the Nazi SS , had Jewish members of the Warsaw ghetto act as police, snitches or spies against the Jewish population as a whole.
Our military acts as an occupying force against its own. If the Islamic terrorist had been a christian, we'd probably be on a watch list leading to internment.

Cause and reason why judges appointed by presidents have and will be a detriment to our country. I do not believe we will ever have a return to how it should be, yet, it would be beneficial if we had term limits on congress and a Supreme Court justice to have a reelection term of 6 years, thus, federal judges could serve 12 years or either not be reelected after six years. Start at the state level and work your way up the food change. It won't happen , too many in politics have been made richer and we're a poorer nation because of them all.

This administration and the Bush administration has yet to come to grips that having over 10,000 military and civilian American deaths in addition to perhaps over 200, 000 world wide deaths due to Islamic attrocities is based on Islamic acts of war and terror. If you can't wrap your head around the fact that the Islamic religion is about war , then good luck surviving a Iranian nuclear strike on Isreal, Europe, the middle Eastern and the East coast of the United States. Seriously, RFK was killed by an Islamic terrorist because he voted to send arms to Isreal. Osama began his war against the west because we had a unarmed fighter wing in Saudi Arabia and because the Taliban were victorious over Russia with our help. They do not want the west to have any recognizable influence in the world, thus they are at war with everyone.

Pornagraphy of any form is prostitution. If you watch it, you're participating in prostitution. I am absolutely amazed that in this country we have laws for seat belts, helmets, parking, etc, and yet this nation has no compunction to make pornagraphy illegal.

This is what happens when less that 5% of a city's population votes in a city election. That said, the LBGT cause is a threat to our democratic society. Once a gay individual is elected they become tyrannical in rule, they will bypass laws meant for health and safety and will hire as many homosexuals into governmental positions that would rival the Nazi party or the Communist party of East Germany.

To the governor's perspective they do not want the democratic process to take place in seeking information( pp has been in the skin selling business for 40 years) and thus having to recognize that this business has provided a voting demographic that has voted along with the Democratic Party.. When people are repulsed by pp, they'll take it out on the Democratic Party.

John of the UK,
What is the TBS point of view on the scriptures? I tend to be a majority text guy, but that's because I want a whole bible as opposed to a redacted text. But , my opinion means little compared to biblical scholars or the study of textual criticism.
