GG~ again, you seem to defend sinful men based on a loyalty to a denomination; by doing so, you go against Christ. Any lost sinner, regardless of denomination preference, is always exposed by their actions. This reveals the true condition of their hearts. In this case, we have an ongoing thievery taking place over a span of numerous years. This makes it pretty clear there hasn't been repentance or remorse for what they have done--they've knowingly sinned against God the whole time. They may be sorry now, that they have been caught, but it would be a worldly sorrow.
It just so happens this story concerns two priests, which verifies you cannot judge a book by its cover. Just because they hold a 'title' does not mean they belong to Christ. This hold true for all denominations, thus the necessity of being a good 'fruit' inspector.
Faulty doctrine and teaching produces faulty converts.

Add this to the list of sodomite priests, preachers, pastors and teachers of all denominations, and you can see God bringing down the hammer on these false teachers, preachers, pastors, priests.

This is a reflection of proclaiming to be 'Godly', yet being void of the Spirit. We cannot truly be saved unless God grants it. These two men are unregenerated in their hearts {which are dead to the things of God}, their minds are depraved and void of Godly wisdom. Their 'fruit', in this case, 20 years of stealing, is evidence they are not born from above. You do not habitually repeatedly steal what doesn't belong to you if God has truly done a work in you {"everyone who confesses the Lord MUST turn away from wickedness" 2 Tim. 2:19}
These lost souls followed a 'tradition' taught by men, and placed that tradition above God's Holy Word as being their first authority. Look at what they wanted to spend it on...SELF!

May the Lord humble these men and truly save them, according to His grace.

John Y said, " If I believe that salvation is by justification by faith in Jesus alone then I am a true believer. That is the mark of a true believer".

With all due respect sir, you base your salvation on your 'work'. You have named it, now you claim it. The real mark of a true believer is a regenerated mind {which comes with reading His word and obeying what it says}, an inward change reflected by outward talk and actions. Salvation is God's gift, He must give it. This isn't based anyone staking claim in Christ, or repeating a pre-written prayer. God must first do a work in the heart, breaking through and exposing to the lost sinner his/her true spiritual condition...lost, without hope. This brokenness leads to true repentance, and prompts the cry, 'O God have mercy on me, a sinner'.

GG~ according to Catholic teaching, the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit are, wisdom, understanding, counsel, knowledge, piety, fear of the Lord, and fortitude [courage]. However, that's not what scripture teaches.
1 Cor. 12 includes the gifts of healing, tongues, faith, miracles, prophecy, interpretation of tongues {verses 7-11}. Romans 12:6-8 also lists the gifts; serving, teaching, encouraging, leadership, helping others...with the greatest gift of all being love {1 Cor. 13}. Some of these gifts no longer apply {speaking in tongues, healing, performing miracles}.
Whatever gift the Holy Spirit gives, it is only given to those whom God has saved by His grace alone. The Pope does not consider the Holy Bible the final authority, therefore, he cannot be saved. His 'fruit' is not in accordance with the word of God. He bears no evidence of being changed in his thinking, he clings to RCC teachings as being more authoritative, or equal to Holy Writ. This is sinful.
Yes, Sola Scriptura is all we need! We stand on God's word, nothing added, nothing taken away, as the only truth we possess.
Being saved does not mean you will possess every gift from the Holy Spirit, for instance, women are not to preach, so that gift will not be given them.

GG~ Christ makes it quite clear how to tell genuine, blood bought born from above believers from apostates...by their fruit. A true believer is a new creation in Christ, they are being renewed in their mind {Romans 12:2} through the studying of scripture as God reveals His truth through His Spirit. That's why so many who claim to be 'born from above', yet are clueless to what that truly means, or how it is obtained, do not bear good fruit. Only God can grant the new birth, not through any tradition, or ritual. That is why Ephesians 2:8-9 are such key passages...the 'gift' of God is salvation, given by His 'grace' to all who truly turn from sin and receive Christ as Lord and Savior. It's called the 'doctrine of regeneration'. Ezekiel 36:26 makes it clear who gives the 'new heart' and the 'new spirit'...God alone. There is no procedure to acquiring it, you can't get 'born again' through any denomination. God grants His gift to whom He humbles and saves. May God grant you understanding GG.

John Y~ you claim you are saved because you repeated a prayer, asking Jesus to be your Savior. You are basing your salvation on your own work...where is the brokenness over sin? Or the call to repent? I am not trying to be mean, this brand of salvation runs rampant throughout the Baptist churches, say a prayer, make a decision, walk an aisle. The Holy Spirit must convict the rebellious sinner of his/her wickedness, breaking through the DEAD hearts [minds] that by nature reject all things pertaining to God. You must be changed from the inside out {born again John 3:3}, and only God, by His grace, can do that. PLEASE!! Don't think you're saved because you repeated a mechanical prayer! You were dead in sin {Eph. 2:1}, therefore, it is IMPOSSIBLE for you to bring to life what is by nature, dead.

“ Great Sermon! ”
What a sobering message. While many waste time arguing secondary issues, the enemy is closing in. This brief warning is a must listen for every true believer.

Christian~ Women do have a strong nurturing instinct, maybe this plays a role in sexual immorality being more of a problem for men? However, when a society starts becoming infiltrated with lesbians, you know God has abandoned it. From Romans 1:26, "For this cause, God gave them up unto the vile affections, for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature." As John MacArthur puts it, 'Paul mentions women first to show the extent of debauchery under the wrath of abandonment, because in most cultures, women are the last to be affected by moral collapse'.

Your statement, "just the mere fact that there are so many more male homosexuals than lesbians in the world shows that THESE SINS ARE NOT THE SAME." To say that male homosexual sin and lesbianism are not the same {in regards to both being a sin against God} is simply not true. Both involve same sex sex, both are an abomination, and all who continue in it will perish. I don't find anything in God's word saying lesbians get lesser punishment. ALL SIN, regardless of 'type', will be judged by God.
May the Lord strengthen you as you battle this sin, may He grant you all wisdom, power and might to overcome...God bless

AAC~Since you insist on dragging my name in on most of your postings, I must, once again, press you for a truthful answer to your contradicting and confusing claims.
From your 9/30 9:37 post--"here in the United States of North America persecution is alive and well"
From 1/01 3:25 post--"Bernie wrote, 'are you an Israeli soldier?' In a sense, yes."
From 1/01 2:16 post--"YES, I AM IN ISRAEL. Sometimes I can't handle the daily persecution and would like to leave"

You owe all who post here a response to your conflicting claims. A follower of Christ does not purposely speak falsely, or strive to cause confusion among the brethren. These conflicting postings have been brought to your attention on numerous occasions, but rather than answer, you evade them with accusations- possibly to keep from having to address them upfront?
You come on these boards, accuse others of all kinds of things, stir up dissension and strife, and cause division. What is your true motive here?

YOu seem to be the one 'policing' these boards, hunting down offenders, and posting the S.A. forum compliance policy repeatedly, like some kind of authoritative figure.
Forget the analogy, obviously over your head.
The bottom line is your accusation from your 1/4/09 post, where you say 'quit harassing me kiddo'
Now, in light of the recent posts by you on this thread alone directed towards me, who is harassing who? You are very good at dodging questions {you never did clarify your true place of residence}.

One final time, since 'dullness' seems to prevail... a 'cop' patrols and polices the neighborhood, in this case, these boards. Following certain posters from thread to thread and harassing them is the accusation from your 1/4/09 3:18 post. I have made it simpler and clarified for you by using your exact words from that post 'quit harassing me kiddo'{instead of borrowing the 'christian cop' analysis so as to prevent any further confusion to another story on this thread}. Now do you understand?

Quickly, a better way of putting it is this, now who is harassing who?

from your 1/04/09 3:18 post directed at me...

'Stop harassing me kiddo'

now that that is clarified, back to ignore

Christian~ I am, in no way, trying to teach you. I too was under the bondage of homosexuality; however, I don't believe the hold is stronger on men than women. At least that's what I gather from scripture. Do I still struggle with this? By His grace, power, and wisdom, NO! The fear of sinning, instilled by God in my heart, keeps me from even thinking such thoughts. I believe this comes in time for all who have repented of sexual sin. ALL sexual sin is birthed in our hearts; God, upon saving us, gives us a new heart and a new spirit {Ez. 36:26}. This is how we overcome sexual sin.
My original point was to express concern for the terminology used when speaking of homosexuality. This is not a behavior disorder, it is a sexual, lustful sin. That is what scripture teaches, and we must never stray from God's word. To do so often times lessens the severity of sin. To soften it with flowery terminology is dangerous, that is all I was trying to get at!

Christian~you refer to homosexuality as a terribly addictive and destructive 'behavior'. I respectfully disagree with such a view. Homosexuality is a horrendous sexual sin, birthed from the forbidden lust that lies within our hearts. When anyone lusts after another and desires sexually to be with that person, this isn't just 'bad behavior', this is SIN {even in our thought life-see Matt. 5:28}. This sin lies within the heart of all mankind {Mat. 15:19}, stems from within our own nature {James 1:13,14}, and must be repented of.
The born again sinner should hate his/her past way of life; the fear of Almighty God should be the driving force behind this hatred. The heart is shamed and should break over past sins; by His power and understanding given, even the mere 'thought' of this sin should be replaced with His word, this is how we overcome any temptation.
As a former homosexual, I praise Him for a clear understanding of the severity of this sin, and the fear and reverence to overcome.
To call homosexuality anything less than sin is to treat it too lightly.

GG~ I am not trying to offend you, I just want to share with you the truth as written in His word. Time and time again throughout the Old Testament, conflict was a way of either judging rebellious Israel, or her enemies.
True peace is found only in Christ, being reconciled to God through His Son. A peacemaker isn't one who goes around saying 'settle your conflict'; instead he/she overlooks offenses, shares the Gospel of Jesus Christ, has a gentle spirit, and desires for others to be reconciled to God.
I apologize for any past offenses, and pray for God will draw you to His Son. Truth is only found in one place; not my denomination or yours, but in God's word alone. May the Lord touch your heart GG.

aac-not sure what those links have to do with this particular story...
It is troublesome to consider you a true brother or sister in light of previous divisions you've caused with nearly everyone on these boards. Your postings are twisted and contradictory; it is best for those who follow Christ to reject you, as scripture commands in Titus 3:10. However, we all will continue to include you in our prayers.
