What concerns me are statements like this: Rubio said the "next step is to argue that the teachings of mainstream Christianity, the catechism of the Catholic Church, is hate speech, and that's a real and present danger." If I read this correctly, he is equating Christianity with what is taught in Roman Catholic Catechism. While I am glad he qualified Christianity with the term "mainstream" most readers today might miss the point. It is not a mainstream Christianity that needs to be fought for, but a biblical one. The papal catchechism hardly reprensents the Bible's teaching on the things it affirms and in many, many affirmations is diabolically opposed to Holy Scripture. In the days of the Reformation it was the lack of the Bible and its availability that the papal antichrist used to keep the people under their authority until the light of God's Word and truth broke the bondage. Now, it seems, the deception is more pernicious in keeping people in ignorance by suggesting that the Scriptures agree with these same papal heresies even though we can read for ourselves. It is like Jesus said that even if one were to rise from the dead, they would not believe.
