In defense of the poor scattered remnant in The USA it is one thing to charge a rebellious nation with the holocost of 70 million children; and quite another to charge the visible church. Unless of course they are complying or silent for fear with either those who usurp Christ's Essential as Magistrates or Donative Dominion as Creator.

The Reformed Churches I am familiar with in the US are less visible and I have observed them moving away from all forms of birth control.

Many of the Lord's people in the US have stood firm on necessary issues, and have been blessed for their obedience though they in many cases suffered loss when it involved even guilt by association. John Knox addressed this issue in his Debate with Secretary Lethington on the Duty of Christian Subjects to execute judgment on criminal Magistrates. It must be noted that Knox as a gospel minister was not confused as to his place calling and station. He was debating with A PROFESSING CHRISTIAN MAGISTRATE the MAGISTRATE'S responsibility as A MAGISTRATE in order that he not be guilty by association with the acts of a persecuting Queen. Knox both knew and kept his place in his office as a minister. In our day there is great confusion as to who is what and does what.

Does God Have a Future for Israel?: A Study of Romans 11[/URL] an interesting booklet you can download.
Yes, Jim note verse 5 the inspired Psalmist asks for no gracious dealings for treacherous workers of iniquity. The inference is then grace to the righteous in these nations.
or like Psalm 66 and 67

Jim ,Gil lost me in the intro 'Why all the confusion?' Sorry to say Gil is misinformed here, that is not the echatology of the true reformed religion as he suggests. He ought prayerfully consider Psalm 25

Ah! Jim EP is the thing. If the church had been singing from the prayers and prophetic Scripture in the Psalms there would not be so much confusion about Eschatology, for the prophets didn't contradict one another in the inspired Word of God. and praise the Lord it was translated into our mother tongue by the much to be thanked, Church of Scotland into meter for the praying, prophesying, praising people of God in their generation with their posterity in view, of course. God's folk could be praying with the mind of Christ or 'the Spirit of unity in the bonds of peace' by the Truth, who is King in Zion. He is always politically correct!

Luke 21:24And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

Commentary D. Brown "24. Jerusalem . . . trodden down . . . until, &c.--Implying (1) that one day Jerusalem shall cease to be "trodden down by the Gentiles" ( Rev 11:2 ), as then by pagan so now by Mohammedan unbelievers; (2) that this shall be at the "completion" of "the times of the Gentiles," which from Rom 11:25 (taken from this) we conclude to mean till the Gentiles have had their full time of that place in the Church which the Jews in their time had before them--after which, the Jews being again "grafted into their own olive tree," one Church of Jew and Gentile together shall fill the earth ( Rom 11:1-36 ). What a vista this opens up!"

Context

Genesis 18:20And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous; 21I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know.
22And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the LORD. 23And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked?...
Abraham intercedes and concludes 32And he said, Oh let not the LORD be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten's sake.

It appears that God could not find 10 righteous in Sodom, His judgment, not Lot's. Will he find 10 righteous in NY State, God's judgment not mine, but I know this; to whom much has been given much will be required. Not every state in the Union had J.R.Willson and his brethren's testimony.

EP, thanks for the reference to Wilson's "Prince Messiah". I am reading it now. It is very good. I had never heard of this fellow before.

Frank,

I'm so encouraged that you found this, and are reading it. I can't imagine that you will not be edified and instructed, I was. Some few years ago now on the same sight I read his recording of God's decrees in Creation and Providence when this legislative body refused to open their assembly with prayer which previously had been lead by the local elders in the city. Mr. Willson had no problem with Christ's Authority Essential and Donative. He didn't mind helping his neighbors come to understand that glorious truth. If I remember correctly one of the two branches in legislature held out longer but finally caved into peer pressure. Willson records God's acts in disease and disaster that followed their unwise decision. They were no where near as far gone, as they are at the present day. God have mercy on his weak ones and grant them his help and strength. Isa.44:3

Contrasting marks
Antichrist's subjects:
Rev.14:9-12 "And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

The Lamb's followers:
Rev.14:1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads.

Ezekiel 9:4 And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.

Where are the men like James Renwick Willson (1780-1853) when you need them?

I have read his famous sermon, "Prince Messiah", that historically made a stir; not only in his own day, but even in mine. It made enough stir in his generation to take up the Albany Legislature's time and energy in persecuting him with great deliberation and zeal. They cast him out of their assembly with his prayers; that they feared. He later escaped from their hands my Almighty intervention, they in wrath, burned him in effigy, instead of his house with him in it. But not before he had completed his generational work and left his testimony not only of warning but of proof positive that God will decree the greatest calamities on the State of NY if they contend with Him. He has done so historically, as can be verified. Prince Messiah as Creator God is Immutable; if NY State cooperates with the Beast and his Image who has a seat there, our Immutable Prince will make history repeat itself. Take care NY State Legislature what you do! Be very afraid, God is not mocked!

this psalm came to mind as applicable:
Psalm 14

1The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. 2The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. 3They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one. 4Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the LORD. 5There were they in great fear: for God is in the generation of the righteous. 6Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the LORD is his refuge. 7Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! when the LORD bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

Balanced with a proper understanding of Romans 11 is also helpful.

Is this a discussion for men only? I will venture, not exactly since its format is a bit unusual or at least I wish it was. Might I just add two thoughts from this poor observer.

I have always understood the text in essence but consent every word is important in the original manuscript(s). I am basing my thought on that of those of greatest agreement in the visible Reformed churches. In context this is an immoral person to be avoided because she is unfaithful, but the word following the one in question implies she is not in covenant.

Next thought; WCF in the Directory for the Public Worship of God 'Of the Preaching of the Word'; but the servant of Christ whatever his method maybe, is to perform his whole ministry #1 Painfully, not doing the work of the Lord negligently. #2 Plainly that the meanest may understand delivering the truth not in the enticing words of men's wisdom... Granted this is not a sermon, but does this not apply?

The Pope's open policy is anti-abortion. The vaticans secret policy is one of continual support for abortion evidenced by the Roe v. Wade decision which overturned anti-abortion laws of over twenty states. The Masonic/Opus Dei/CFR-controlled U.S. Supreme Court, and thus its choosing to hear certain cases in which the Justices can then issue their predetermined decisions, is overseen by the Jesuits from Washington's Georgetown University
