Tap water can mean different things; some people get their water from a well, others have different city systems, and they are not all the same. In Florida I read of a pollution problem caused by dry cleaners dumping their chemicals onto the ground, which polluted the groundwater. Residences nearby, using wells, had to stop using water for anything, not even showering (well, I guess it would get their clothes clean without detergents, and maybe their cars too). And frequently, at the Ft. Lauderdale Airport, they cover up the drinking fountains whenever a construction crew in the area cuts through a water line, decreasing the pressure. I saw a short video on a commercial weather channel that mentioned this tap vs bottled issue in relation to hurricane preparedness. Although it confused the county mayor with the city mayor, it still made good sense. Another problem is the growth of bacteria in water bottles that people refill with tap water. |

I wonder what the boy-wonder of socialism in the US Senate, Bernie Sanders, the man who has never worked on a real job in the private sector all his life, who lived off govt aid and was thrown out of a socialist commune because he refused to work, thinks about Venezuela, Cuba, etc. I also remember the last US President, Barrack Milhouse Obama, visiting Cuba and making great fanfare of what he was going to change the lives of the people there. And what happened in the end? Not much. I happen to know many college students who I asked about the 2016 Presidential Elections. They were not too interested. Hillary Clinton's running mate for Vice President came to their campus for a rally and only a hundred or so people showed up. Of course, same thing happened to Hillary when she spoke at the convention of Black Baptist Churches (I think it's called the National Baptist Convention); they had an entire area of the hotel's convention center set up with chairs, but so few people showed up they had to hurriedly close off entire sections so that it would not appear in publicity photos that she spoke to 200 people, 1800 empty seats. And they still wonder how they lost the election? I think they are in for a rude awakening this November--things will not go their way! |

Elections have consequences! What a difference we are getting from the "Apology Tours" that Obama went on, saying how bad the US is. This was just his "Hate America" Foreign Policy, and his Internal Policy wasn't much different. How many white voters thought that, by voting for him (despite his mother being white, he is still considered black, though in Latin America, he would be mulato), they would usher in a New Age of Racial Reconciliation? Instead, we saw the country more divided than ever, and blacks around the country were more upset than they had been under Bush. I don't remember any group like Black Lives Matter in the Bush Administration, do you? |
