Hello Jessica, I'm sorry for your poor health and I certainly pray for you. I don't understand the personal attacks and then people think they are of God. You shouldn't leave SA. It's a good forum. I stick around for posters like Mike from NY and Jim Lincoln, John of UK, Chistopher, Anne, and Penny. There are so many you can have discussions with and walk away without feeling beaten up. There are a few of newer posters that brow beat and attack, however, they should be ignored and they will eventually go away. Hope you stick around and I will be praying for you as well as the attackers!!! God bless Jessica!

Ginger, Erik and Jessica, we are all in agreement. I think there are people on SA that are not unlike the pharisees. the put the letter of the law above the spirit of the law...

Neither am I Pam, I'm sure the sports sections of newspapers get read far more during the week than the bible. People will read novels of great length but do not read the incredible, historical events that God has given us.

Oh now strat, you know we are not all really equal. It was simply the name of a sports team and no one really cares. I guess they changed it so it wouldn't offend anyone. They didn't ask me and I don't care for sports...

I know Mike, I wasn't trying to bait you at all bro, I promise. I posted this with tongue in cheek. I do feel President Obama has done some bad things while in office, but I'm not convinced he's any worse than any others. We just don't get to vote for the creme of the crop any more.
Plus, I'm sure I could go to fox news or the new American or the wall street journal blah blah blah and get 30 different views from rosy to apocalyptic. I'm really sick of the entire political scene in the U.S. Sorry for the rant, Mike, not directed at you. I trust in God and He is bigger than any of this. It's all in his very capable hands!!!
P.S. anyone that knows anything knows that Hillary will be the next President!!!

"We're going to have trillion-dollar deficits for years to come," said former congressman and presidential candidate Ron Paul.

"When I first walked through the door," said President Obama in 2010, "the deficit stood at $1.3 trillion, with projected deficits of $8 trillion over the next decade."

And on it went. For a while it seemed like no one ever just talked about the deficit. It was always the trillion-dollar deficit.

Except that past year, it shrank dramatically. Jared Bernstein, a senior fellow at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities and a former Obama administration economist, explains that reality defies the rhetoric.

"The budget deficit has gone from 10 percent of GDP in 2009 — it was quite high — to about 4 percent of GDP in 2013," Bernstein says.

Like most economists, he prefers to look at the deficit as it relates to the overall size of the U.S. economy.

"That decline is the largest four-year decline in budget deficits since 1950," he says. "So they've fallen a ton."

Reading these posts and how people tear into everyone I can see why the church is in such a decline in America. Sad really. I'm glad my taxes feed and cloth the poor in AMERICA. I wouldn't mind paying more if they would just use it to feed the poor!!!

Sorry Strat, didn't mean to get your dander up! I have worked since i was 14 years of age and still kicking at age 55. Never been out of a job and never needed food stamps or any other forms of subsistence, thanks to the Lord. Just trying to point out that poor people that do get these services aren't the only ones milking the system. People are getting rich off of our government. It isn't the ones collecting $600 a month in subsidies. I wish you could check a box as to where you want your tax money to go, i would let ALL my taxes go to feeding the hungry. Not to build bombs to kill innocent chilren in a foreign country... There you go strat.

If we want to kill all social welfare programs, even ones that take care of the elderly and disabled, than how about ending 'corporate welfare' that cost $40 billion dollars a year more than the social programs everyone hates?

It's simply because people like you and me have given them far too much control and power over our children John. If this young man has an IEP the mother simply has to put that in his education plan and he can pack his bible anywhere he wants, even in the evil halls of public education.

Chris, i apologize, and must admit some ignorance to the catholic church and it's rituals. I didn't think about the prayers to Mary. There is a catholic church in our town, but very small. Most churches in Williamstown KY are evangelical Christian...

Perhaps I should have kept silent!!!

John, there are several verses about 'graven images' and that was what I was refering to.

Chris, if it where me, I would repect the wishes of my 91 year old grandmother and repair the rosary. If memory serves me correctly didn't people in the bible used tassles on their coats and stones to help them pray? It's no more idolatrous than having crosses or in my opinion, a picture of Jesus in your church. Merely my opinion bro...

Your are right John, added to the fact that contraceptives are so convenient. It's a shame really, I'm 55 years old and some of my grandest memories are of my 5 children growing up!

Hey guys look, I feel that everybody here is missing the bigger picture. The issue I have with the poster has nothing to do with racism. What gets my blood boiling is that it's like everybody seems to have forgotten what really happened at the cross. We always try to magnify the soldiers beating Jesus and Jesus suffering on the cross, but rarely do you hear that Jesus became sin for us, and how God poured all His wrath out on His Son and then in Jesus' darkest hour, God abandoned Him. That's what really happened at the cross.
Good comment TeenChristian, you will soon see that all comments on SA go back to 2 main things. What version of the bible is the best and to whom do you vote for???

Wow.... Homeschooling is such a small % yet the Education Machine goes after them constantly! Hmm!
Just follow the money Gojo, that is why the schools all have a nazi like attendance policy. They just want you to think it's because of the welfare of the child. The higher the attendance the more money rolling in, that is what it boils down to. If they can get all the homeschoolers in the classroom it's more money.

GsTexas, this is interesting, I looked up on wikipedia and Lee did appear not to support slavery, his wife and daughter even started an illeagal school on their plantation for slaves. Very interesting and I think requires a little more research.
