To Polemics Just a thought: When I want to know what a Calvinist believes I read or listen to a Bible believing Calvinist. For example… Dr. Alan Cairns is a great man of God, but I do not agree with everything he says. What someone thinks Dr Cairns says may be misleading. A good book to read by an Arminian is, “Quest for Truth” by Leroy Forlines. Armininanism and Calvinism differ in this way: “In both views regeneration is solely the work of God. In Calvinism, the order is regeneration, faith, justification and sanctification. In my view the order is faith, justification, regeneration, and sanctification.” Forlines You have been taught that faith is a work, but we believe faith is a response to the calling of God. John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him:. This makes faith the condition of our salvation, but the grounds of our salvation is Jesus Christ and his work on the cross. I do not know who KK is, but he gives a lot of good verses that must not be ignored. Please keep in mind …there are people in both camps that are in error. If they believe salvation is by works they are wrong. If they believe you should not preach to the unsaved they are wrong. |
