I have the same sentiments. After church service, men usually talk about teams and sports figures with whom I am unfamiliar. Often, I am an outsider of the conversation.

I have not read the article. However, Mohammed consulted his sister-in-law about his visions in the cave. His sister happened to be a nestorian "Christian"--a heretic who gave him affirmation that the visions were from God.
Jesus told Peter to put away his sword because violence was pointless at that moment. Jesus had to die on the cross and Jesus had future plans for Peter to do the Great Commission. I do not see in the Bible a prohibition from carrying a weapons especially if Jesus commanded two swords to be in possession of the disciples.
