Christopher000,

Re: 'No apparent reason'

But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death. James 1:14-15

Also, remember Cain/Abel.

Jim Lincoln wrote:
So, Homeschooling parents may very well have to teach some of the basic ideas of he religion of Evolution, so their children get into secular universities, but they don't have to treat it kindly.
There are many opportunities to teach about evolution (or millions of years) because kids are innundated with it in the media (e.g. National Geographic, Ice Age movies). Even a trip to the San Diego Zoo or Sea World is an (unwanted) lesson in evolution. No need to get it in curriculum (unless being shown in contrast and erroneous to the Biblical view) We have lots of videos from Answers In Genesis so our kids can spot this stuff a mile a way. I agree with AIG. It is a Biblical Authority issue. Can't trust Genesis 1?---then you can't trust the Gospels.

Interesting that this issue was brought in as a sign of self-righteousness:

"I try to avoid spending time with people who are openly gay or lesbian.
"

Seems like a political agenda here. Why not replace "gay" and "lesbian" and see how it sounds?

"... who are openly pedophiles and adulterers"
"... who are murderers and racists"
"... who are liars and blasphemers"
"... who are thieves or use foul language"
"... who are into pornography or are fornicators"
"... who worship graven images"
"... who are drunks and drug dealers"

"Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" 2 Corinthians 6:14

"Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.”" 1 Cor 15:33

"a companion of gluttons shames his father" Proverbs 28:7

"a companion of prostitutes squanders his wealth" Proverbs 29:3

etc etc etc

Now, of course, we need to go out into the world to preach the Gospel, but a Christian prefers to hang out with his brothers and sisters in Christ. It only becomes pharisiacal if we think we are better than unbelievers or anybody else.

Yet another reason why not to have faith in this country, but in Christ alone. Relativism and lawlessness seems to be the norm in government decisions.

His faith is not grounded in the absolute authority of the Word of God so what do you expect?

I'm glad whenever Christians show their true faith in Jesus Christ by not backing down from the Word of God. Let God be true and every man a liar.

Paul (after conversion) would be a Pharisee according to this survey. The survey is too simplistic and some criteria are wrongly labeled as self-righteous.

Jim, It is the manner of how the Romans Road, five or four things God wants you to know is used that makes it easy believism. You accurately quote Paul, but others who use RR just popish then declare someone saved because they simply said the prayer after acknowledging all those truths. The prayer ends up being the clincher. Paul did not say to the Philipian Jailer, "pray this prayer". He said, "believe on The Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved..." People end up trusting in the prayer instead of looking unto Jesus.

Missing a couple of words.

"Pastor Laurie's message is out of step with what the majority of people of DEAD, FALSE faith across this country believe," said Dr. Sharon Groves

“ Great Sermon! ”
Broussard's comments were more direct and clear than those of others in high profile positions that have been asked the old question of whether homosexuality is a sin. Love that he kept saying, "The Bible says..." I think we need to go further and say "thus saith The Lord" or "Jesus says..." and bring up the fact that you are either for or against Him. Make it less opinion and more about what He says.

Let us assume that there have been and are Catholics who get saved on their death bed by embracing Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Do you believe that they have gone to Heaven even if they did not leave the Catholic Church?
I'd say as much chance as the thief on the cross . "But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness." Romans 4:5

The parable of the laborers in the vineyard (Matthew 20:1-16) is a good reminder.

Agree. The very act of ensuring no reference nor giving thanks to Jesus or God in school means the school is promoting atheism. There is no neutrality.

"Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God: But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God." Luke 12:8-9

Remember the millstone, too, for those who cause the little ones to stumble.

No one in the Church community at No time challenge that or called it Sin.
True Christians (both leaders and lay people - e.g. John MacArthur, Ray Comfort, my pastor, you, me, others, ...) in the True body of Christ did and are still calling it sin. However, let us remember, 1 Corinthians 5:12-13:

"For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Is it not those inside the church whom you are to judge? God judges those outside. “Purge the evil person from among you.”"

I thought the song, because of its theologically accurate lyrics, was good. I had my kids listen to it. I first heard about this on worldmag.com. To me, this kind of rap music is more theologically sound than the stuff coming out out CCM.
