“ Very, Very Good! ”
Thank you for your take on this familiar incident in Scripture, Bro. Jason. Love your example of hot dog vendors at a church service. And yes, I've seen the lamb loving, "shampoo model" Jesus on the postcards at the Christian bookstore, but I ain't never seen that "whip held high" Jesus. Wouldn't sell too well, you know.

According to this article I found (posted in April 2016), when the federal law in 1974 mandated a 55 mph speed limit the unexpected benefit was fewer deaths. The study showed that there's been a steady rise in fatalities with the partial repeal & final repeal of the law.

http://www.iihs.org/iihs/news/desktopnews/speed-limit-increases-cause-33-000-deaths-in-20-years

Lets see, most folks are already driving over the current limit; distracted driving, like cell phone usage, continues to be the rule of thumb; more & more young, inexperience drivers are on the road.... Yeah, lets show how smart we legislators are & raise the speed limit. All in favor...

(Years ago I use to go flying along at 5-10 mph above the speed limit until this question was asked of me: "Self, as a Christian what principles would you be violating if you were to drive the legally posted speed limit?" I didn't have a good answer for myself, so I've been driving the legal limit ever since.)

“ Convinced ”
Alright, young man, I'm gonna have to get that book (OH LOVE THAT WILL NOT LET ME GO). I want to read for myself what they said. ☻ My best friend & I say that it's not death that bothers us, but the way we may die, the dying process: "Don't want to be eaten by a shark; don't want to be buried alive, don't want to be lingering for days; etc, etc." I think this book is the boot in the behind that we need to bring our thinking into balance. (Self, in that last sentence, do you hear a little alliteration going on? Maybe, but don't go changing the subject because it's about facing death.)

Thank you, Bro. Jason for this talk about facing death. Funny how even we Christians don't really think about dying. This is a good reminder. I'm looking forward to the other messages in this series.

“ WOW and WOW Again! ”
"The older I get the more forgett'n I get." (Sorry, the informal writer part of me loves the various dialects I've heard through the years, and by the way, fake sorry :-) ) With that said, I see I listened & commented on this in 2014. I vaguely remember the comment, but I don't remember the message. Because his death has been major news, I've been listening to the pro-Billy, pro-Billy-with-caveats, & anti-Billy messages. This particular message, with behind-the-scenes info, has me shaking my head and saying, "Oh, Mr. Graham, what was it all about? Why'd you do what you did?"

“ Another Comment ”
As I listened to these four sessions I was reminded of how even believers can practice creature-worship and not be aware that that's what they're doing. When we use the words of humans to interpret what the plainly revealed Word of God is saying, we are declaring that ascendancy belongs to the created "puffs of air" instead of the ever-living Creator. These are very good sessions. The speaker has placed the Word of God, because it is what the only true God has said, as the authority by which we interpret what we observe.

“ Another Great Presentation! ”
I know that when I die or I'm translated--in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye--I'm going to know & comprehend much, much, much more than I do now, but I'm so glad that the Lord has let information like this come to light doing my lifetime. As a young person, I believed in evolution & the Bible too. Maybe because I didn't run into anyone on either side that asked questions to make me think. School taught evolution as fact & my Christian community's concentration was on social injustices. In high school I came across a tract called "Big Daddy?". The head of a ape-like creature was drawn on the front. Inside was some information (that this presentation gives) like how a extinct pig's tooth became the foundation for a completed form of an ape-like human, how fraudulent materials were passed off as evidence for evolution, etc. And then in college the Lord hit me between the eyeballs with "male and female created He them" while the professor was giving a lecture on Nebraska man (mom, dad & two kiddies were on the screen). Then & there I knew evolution was a lie; the Lord had shined forth the light, the truth of His Word, and expelled that dark place in my mind.

“ The First of Four Great Presentations ”
Sound starts at 1:49. The speaker's parents were not Christians, he grew up an atheist, becoming a believer when 27yrs. old. I like all his sessions because he's not bashing folks, he's just giving commonsense questions to ask people and commonsense information to use. He lets it be known that the Bible is true because it is the Word of God, given to men by God. And God, being there before the beginning of all things, and being the Creator, and therefore the Observer and the Cause, well, what input can any human give that we should let supersede God's statements on the matter?

“ Excellent Presentation! ”
I liked all four of the sessions but this was--well...maybe--my favorite (they're all good). The speaker presents the Word of God, what is written, as the truth because it comes from God. He shows the harm done to people when believers don't hold to the straight forward truth because they've accepted the interpretations of faulty-thinking, fallen men (which interpretations, by the way, are blown away by observable things like the aftereffects of Mt. Saint Helen's eruption). The speaker's way of putting things is much better than my comment. He's worth the listening. I think your mind will like what your ears are hearing.

“ Fundamentalism and Evangelicalism ”
Thank you, Bro. Matt. You've given the good things and the bad things about both Fundamentalism and Evangelicalism, what some of the people within each movement thought was the best strategy to, I guess, presenting, as they understood it, the Lord's message to the world.

“ A Very Good Message! ”
The Lord has commanded some things of us and "We need to get to gettin'," as some older folks that I knew would say. And I am again reminded not to worry about what the other person is or isn't doing, I need to concentrate on the assignment(s) I've been given.

“ The Truth Is... ”
Thank you, Bro. David for speaking about this often misquoted/taken out of context verse. We believers should always want the truth. I hope that the people who have felt beaten up by this verse will find comfort from the truth of the Scriptures.

@NotSure: 1300 x 2 or 3 or 4 or 5, etc., comments = a multitude of words. Happens often in SA's news section. And, like I'm doing now, the posted comments aren't about the article.

“ Remembering... ”
A memory from my youth (I won't tell you how far back I had to go to get it): The older saints in our black Baptist church, those born in the 1800's - the beginning of the 1900's, were always calling the Lord Jesus their "Good Master." Yep, they didn't have any problems being Christ's slaves. And they were a lot closer to the evil abuses of slavery and the aftermath than any of us.

“ Excellent, Excellent, Excellent! ”
You have so wonderfully answered the question about slavery, Bro. Jeff. Thank you. It's cleared the matter up for me. I've heard others Christian teachers that seemed almost--or were--apologetic about God's Word on slavery because of the world's view and I was becoming a little confused about things.

You know, I had forgotten that there are different kinds of angels, that they have different forms. Thanks, Bro. Bob, for this reminder. Most pictures have all angels looking like male humans with a couple of wings on their backs. All three parts of your "Sons of God" series were interesting.
