Tony and Jerry, or is it Tom and Jerry?

I guess you've forgotten that the Bible has already been deemed hate speech in Canada. The culture war is in full throttle and in the end who wins will determine whether your pastor is preaching in a church or in the local jail.

It is true that Christians need to be concerned about the more important things. At the same time my children are facing the homosexual agenda in the public schools that my tax money is paying for. If I complain, I could end up in jail with my kids being taken away. I won't be able to go on the radio because of the fairness doctrine. I won't be able to afford to put my kids in private schools because of higher taxes.

Do politics matter, not if you don't mind throwing your kids away and your religious freedoms.

As per Israel, I don't agree with everything they do, but I would rather err on the side of blessing than cursing.

The problem with young people is our lack of revival. We will never have it while we are content to live without it.

I haven't recommended sermons on here before, but today I will:

Brother Don wrote:
Intelligent Design is just as corrupt as the teachings of human evolution. It is impossible to properly teach the truth of creation apart from the name of the Intelligent Designer--the Lord Jesus Christ.
This doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I understand that there are those who are against I.D. because it is too ambiguous and not clearly representing YHWH. Hugh Ross for one example is a creationist who does not agree with the I.D. position. For you to say that I.D. is as corrupt as evolution is over the top. It is true, contrary to Dawkins and advocates of evolution, that I.D. proponents do wish for this intelligence to remain somewhat anonymous for the sake of having a place in the scientific establishment. This is because spokesmen such as Philip Johnson wants the teleological argument for the existence of God and the fallacies of evolution to be pointed out in the science class without breaching the court imposed separation between church and state. In Professor Johnson's own words, it is up to others to argue who this intelligence is. The wall of separation has almost completely expelled all religious dialogue from the public market place of ideas. I.D. is one tool that Christian scientists can use to fight back.

I think that the biggest thing about Pentecostalism that draws them is that salvation is only the beginning of the Christian life. The fact that Jesus promised power to witness is the central core belief, not prosperity.

I have several African Pentecostal friends, two are from Nigeria. As far as I know they do not adhere to the prosperity doctrine. Blessing Adeoye is starting a Christian reading room in Nigeria, where he is originally from. He is very particular about the books that he makes available. As a Pentecostal, he will not accept any books that propagate the prosperity message. He is also an elder at the Urbana Assembly of God Church where I used to attend.

The point I am making is that Pentecostalism is not automatically equivalent to prosperity. Secondly, not all Nigerian Pentecostals subscribe to the prosperity doctrine.

George Washington was not much of a dedicated Mason. I think he went to the lodge once or twice.

"Freemasonry's basic tenets are:
1. brotherly love (tolerance, respect, kindness and understanding of others, especially to their Masonic Brothers)
2. relief (caring for the whole community through philanthropy)
3. truth (morals)"

It is NOT a Christian organization, but there are certainly many worse non-Christian organizations around like the Knights of Columbus!

I agree that there are worse organizations. One quick point however that you forgot to add to your list, giving false testimony to save brother masons.

The difference between honor in Islam and honor in Christianity:

Muslim's honor is to kill in the name of Allah.

Christian's honor is to die for the name of Jesus.

Peter Marshall has some excellent material available on early America and its birth. From Sea to Shining Sea is one book he wrote. He also has a new DVD series. Marshall describes William Bradford as being on a missionary objective to spread the Gospel to America when he came.

First of all I want to commend you for staking your pro-life stand among Democrats. The Democratic Party has decisively ignored you for too long and continues to.

You accused the Republican party of only caring about the rich, upper class, particularly in regards to taxes. In the year 2005 my wife and I made around $45,000. We received checks in the mail from the IRS three times due to Bush's tax cuts for the "upper class". It totaled up to around $1500. We used this to go on vacation, which we other wise could not have afforded.

The newly elected Democratic controlled Congress intends to close these loop holes that we rich people are using to get tax breaks. They have no plans to extending Bush's tax cuts. This means that I will have to find a better job to pay for my children's Christian schooling. Since the liberals have taken over the public education system with the homosexual agenda, the sexual revolution, revision of history, usurping our children's Christian freedom (speeches, prayer, etc) and even want to deny me my own educational tax dollars to help pay for it. Clinton and the rest of these high dollar liberals can afford to pay for private schools, but want to deny it to me, because I'm wealthy, making a whopping $45,000 annually supporting 3 children.

First of all the New World Order was being experimented with at the dawn of The American Revolution. The back of our dollar bill states plainly, NOVUS ORDO SECLORUM, New Secular Order. The interesting thing about all of this is that the conspiracy watchdogs don't know which way to look. For example Bush is purportedly controlled by the Bilderbergers which supposedly want to raise taxes, including implementing a carbon tax. Bush did the opposite. I'm not denying that Bush has somewhat of a globalist agenda, but it doesn't exactly come through with flying colors. He is not overly friendly with the UN nor does he favor the world court. I think that it is fairly obvious that Gore on the other hand is a proponent of each one of these things.

Some say that all politically conservative radio programs, including Christian ones are secretly working with Bush, however they are the ones who stopped Bush and congress from passing the immigration bill. I don't think that every one is the enemy. At the same time I think it’s obvious that God intends more for us than this world has to offer, politically and otherwise.

When Jesus said I never knew you, He was first of all speaking of a future point in time. Secondly He was not necessarily refering to the beginning of time. It can just as easily refer to the actual birth, or the time(s) when the person ignores God's voice and rejects His grace.

I am not saying that there are not good arguments for divine election, but I am saying that this is not a good one.

Connected to this and pertaining to earlier mentions of being in God's hands and eternal security: There are three characteristics of Christ's sheep, 1) My sheep hear my voice, 2) I know them and 3) they follow me.

Cross referencing this with Matt 7:23 makes it rather intense considering "know" can mean "test" or "prove". "And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."

Yes I believe that the not so "Obvious Truth" is one in the same as "gwb=666". He said that he was no longer allowed to post under that title.

By the way Robert, how is the rest of Led Zeplin doing? I met Bob Seger on here a few days ago.

I'll take a look at the web sights Susan. Just one quick point: You wrote that The New World Order will erode our national sovereignty. However, if you research conspiracy theories you will undoubtedly know that the USA is a product of The New World Order. NOVUS ORDO SECLORUM is on the back of every US dollar bill to testify to the Masonic presence. Our nation’s capital was built in an arrangement resembling Masonic symbols. The original colonies numbered 13, an important number in witchcraft circles. One could even point out New World Order conspiracy ties to the American Revolution. In other words the very machine that gave us our religious freedom is what fuels the New World Order.

I do not deny a movement towards a New World Order. I have been to numerous conferences over the years. I have met Gary Kah, author of En Route to Global Occupation as well as Bill Schnoebelen (another Mike Warneke), Ed Decker, Dave Hunt and others. All these tend to lean on conspiracy theories. Gary Kah impressed me as a man who is down to earth. Here is a good book review, http://www.sermonaudio.com/addcommentnew.asp?WhatsNewID=24006

The bottom line is Satan is the conspiracist. God isn’t worried about it. One might even say that God is a conspiracist too (John 3:16).

Need I say anymore?

"gwb" or the not so "Obvious Truth" has proven my point very well. As a man thinketh in his heart so is he.

Because I call for the facts, now I am an 'idiot' that 'condones torture'. If you knew my address, I should expect a lynch mob at my front door on account of my guilt by association; that is association with other Christians in public discourse (i.e. Janet Folger). Because I called a spade a spade, now I am a bonesman and 'idolater'. Because I appreciate the judicial nominees of GWB and reject hyper conspiracy theories, I am not even a Christian.

This is exactly what I exposed this conspiracy mentality of. It is an exclusive mentality that is fueled by pride, not Scripture, where only the enlightened elite will be saved. Any opposition is shot down by character attacks, a question of motivation or written off as mislead at best.

Alright "gwb..." I think that your lack of serious and meaningful conversation is quite beyond yourself, at least here on the boards. Anybody can construct quick witted nasties. Let me here the facts!!! Off with the lame cuke theories that have no more support than Joseph Smith's golden tablets. You need to get back to the Bible man! It is all so really plain and simple you see. You don't need to buy the Bible code software to decode hidden messages, it is all right there in black and white. The Bible does not say that we should automatically presume suspicion on everyone we meet.

I Corinthians 13:4-7, Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 13. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

I wonder how you would have responded to Jesus had you lived in His day. Would you've considered Him a false prophet from the East? Perhaps a propigator of Eastern religion? A cynic sage who learning the impossibility of His political coop, opted for martyrdom to seize history? LOL!

"Jacob have I loved and Esau have I hated" Paul is quoting from Malachi 1:2-3, not Genesis.

Keep in mind that many times nations are actually called by the name of their ancestral heritage. This can be confusing at times, but I think that it is fairly clear here in the context that Paul is referring to that this is the case.

This verse is not the best argument for Divine Sovereignty ruling over man’s God-given free will.

Any serious scholar and historian would reject Jack Chick's revisionist history out of hand.

I use to love to read Chick tracts and I dare say that I have probably passed out more than any other person who has posted here. I would literally spend my last quarter on Chick tracts.

Over the years of study and research I have learned a thing or two, not even close to everything, but a thing or two. A common sense look at history tells us that the Catholic Church is no more responsible for every thing bad in the world, than the devil is responsible for every thing bad that happens to us.

I'm sure that Chick probably thinks that the the devil was a member of the Church of Rome when he was in heaven and that is why God gave him the boot. Get real!

“When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.” (1Cor 13:11).

Gnosticism was an early cult that mislead many Christians. There are some similarities found in the "secret knowledge" of the special elite Christians who pride their self as the higher echelon believers and the only ones who know the truth. What truth? Not the simple Gospel truth, but rather the hidden codes that are in the daily newspapers and fangled web sights.
