John...The hour is late the day has been long, and so is the length of the parable that you wanted me to address so a small bit here and the rest I have sent to you via your e mail address that you so kindly list here at SA.....so
The Rich Man and Lazarus

We will now review the parable of the rich man and Lazarus that is recorded in Luke 16. Improper understanding of this parable has resulted in a wrong understanding of God’s judgment process.

The parable describes two individuals. The rich man has all of the joys and comforts this present world can bring, but he is not saved. The poor man, Lazarus, has none of the good things of this world, but he is a saved man...............

John ,please confirm at some point that you did receive the email.
thanks

Joe the P wrote ???
concerning "THE LAW "......He posted a bit back. Now since this is longer in length I may have to continue for a couple of posts John I will get back to you re: the parable asap.....hang in there John.
The Old Testament law which allowed divorce for adultery no longer stands and God obligates Himself to follow His own law. This is a wonderful truth because it means that Christ cannot divorce a saved individual because of sin (spiritual adultery). Death is the only thing that can end a marriage, but once we become saved we receive eternal life so we will never die. Of course, neither will Christ ever die. In other words, the marriage between Christ and the true believer will never come to an end. This ties back into the fact that we cannot lose our salvation.
"GOD IS UNDER THE SAME LAW !
Gal 4:4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,

HOW MUCH PUNISHMENT?

Deuteronomy 25:3 Forty stripes he may give him, and not exceed: lest, if he should exceed, and beat him above these with many stripes, then thy brother should seem vile unto thee.

John what did "GOD " tell Adam?if you eat of this tree you will surely......?
and also "GOD" the wages of sin is ......?
to continue and I have not forgotten about the parable.....will get back to you later this day

We find this teaching reiterated in Ezekiel 14:17-21 and Ezekiel 25:13. The destruction of unsaved man
is like the destruction of any other creature on this planet:

I will consume man and beast; I will consume the fowls of the heaven, and the fishes of the
sea, and the stumbling blocks with the wicked: and I will cut off man from off the land, saith
the LORD. (Zephaniah 1:3)

Notice once again is found the significant phrase “cut off.”
An animal lives for a few years and then it dies and that’s it. It does not continue to exist in any
way, and so too is the case with mankind if he is not saved. The Bible teaches that we are spiritually
dead. We’ve always known that, but we used to say that somehow an unsaved individual’s dead soul
would be alive to experience eternal torment in a place called hell. Now we can see why that doesn’t
make sense.

John we continue...psalm 49;12 & where we left off..... Ecclesiastes 3: 18-20
I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them,
and that they might see that they themselves are beasts. For that which befalleth the sons of
men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea,
they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.
All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again. (Ecclesiasts 3:18-20)

Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish. (Psalm
49:12)
We have learned that as a result of sin man has been cut off. This is the same fate that befalls
the animals:

Son of man, when the land sinneth against me by trespassing grievously, then will I stretch
out mine hand upon it, and will break the staff of the bread thereof, and will send famine
upon it, and will cut off man and beast from it (Ezekiel 14:13)

John...I'll come back to the "parable"
but let us continue...
John, let me start where I left off.
. There is no indication in John 5:29 above that the unsaved will be resurrected to any
kind of life or conscious existence. We just read that they will be resurrected to damnation. We will later see that the resurrection of the unsaved has to do with their remains being spewed out of the graves in preparation for the final destruction that will come when this entire universe is destroyed by
fire. Unsaved man was already spiritually dead when he was born. Then when he died physically he was entirely dead, both in body and soul. For all practical purposes, an unsaved individual’s physical death
marks the end of his existence. However, God’s destruction of the unsaved will be a total destruction. Once their corpses have been spit out of the graves and destroyed on the last day, then all of the unsaved
from the history of the world will have been entirely destroyed and truly cease to exist.
Our reaction to this might be, “Well, then man is no different than an animal.” In a sense, that
is true. In fact, God teaches that
All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again. (Ecclesiasts 3:18-20) .

John,For those of us who grew up in a church, learning that unsaved man will be destroyed and
cease to exist may cause us to ask, “But doesn’t the Bible speak of the dead being resurrected?” In fact,
it does:

And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that
have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. (John 5:29)

So we have to ask, “What does the resurrection of damnation mean?” We get a little help when
we look in the book of Daniel:

And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life,
and some to shame and everlasting contempt. (Daniel 12:2)

This language tells us that the resurrection of damnation is also a resurrection to be shamed.
We read in Jeremiah about the shame that will be brought on the unsaved:

And I will bring an everlasting reproach upon you, and a perpetual shame, which shall not
be forgotten. (Jeremiah 23:40)

There is no indication in John 5:29 above that the unsaved will be resurrected to any
kind of life or conscious existence.

The Greek word for “destroy” in the above verse is the same that is translated as “perish” in Luke 13:3:
I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish [be destroyed].
If we don’t become saved we will be completely destroyed, both body and soul. This notion that
man simply ceases to exist after physical death is hard for us to accept. This is because God has written
eternity on our hearts:
He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart,so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.
(Ecclesiastes 3:11)..The Hebrew word for “world” here is olam which means “infinite time” and is translated elsewhere in
the Bible as “everlasting,” “evermore,” “eternal,” “for ever,” and “perpetual.”
Mankind senses that somehow he continues to exist beyond this life. What that means can
vary greatly from one religion or culture to another, but mankind as a whole believes he will continue on somehow after this life. This is because we were created in the image of God and designed to live
forever with Him. When mankind sinned it brought spiritual death, but eternity is still written on our
hearts .

First things first ....John this is a parable ...a earthly story with a heavenly meaning...And I will get back to you in a bit later this day but I want to continue with what was posted prior..only because of room as continued..
Therefore shall the Lord, the Lord of hosts, send among his fat ones leanness; and under his
glory he shall kindle a burning like the burning of a fire. And the light of Israel shall be for
a fire, and his Holy One for a flame: and it shall burn and devour his thorns and his briers
in one day; And shall consume the glory of his forest, and of his fruitful field, both soul and
body: and they shall be as when a standard-bearer fainteth. (Isaiah 10:16-18)

We find in Matthew chapter 10 a reiteration that the soul will be destroyed along with the body:

And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him
which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. (Matthew 10:28)

Man will be burned to ashes:

For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that
do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of
hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. (Malachi 4:1)

Man will not survive the fire any more than thorns can survive a fire:

And the people shall be as the burnings of lime: as thorns cut up shall they be burned in the
fire. (Isaiah 33:12)

This destruction of man is permanent and, once again, we find that the focus of the punishment is on
our loss of eternal life with God:

Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from
the glory of his power (2 Thessalonians 2:19)

The Bible indicates that both the body and soul will be destroyed by fire:

I quoted "GOD'S Word only,HIS word's not my interpretation.
God gives us an example of how we should understand the phrase “everlasting fire”:
Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. (Jude 1:7)
(The Greek word for “eternal” in this verse is the same as in Matthew 18:8 and Matthew 25:41 where it is translated as “everlasting.”)
The fire in Sodom and Gomorrah is"NOT" still burning, but God tells us that this is an example of everlasting fire. “Everlasting fire” does not imply that the fire itself will burn forever, but rather that the destruction it causes will be permanent. In other words, there will never again be a chance for existence......In other word's "consumed"

Now John UK,Since we are so close to the end ,even if you do not believe it .In any case when the end comes ..( 5/21/11 )
how do you John UK deal with this question ?
"GOD IS UNDER THE SAME LAW !
Gal 4:4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,

HOW MUCH PUNISHMENT?

Deuteronomy 25:3 Forty stripes he may give him, and not exceed: lest, if he should exceed, and beat him above these with many stripes, then thy brother should seem vile unto thee.

So then John UK the question must be asked !

How then can "GOD " "PUNISH " a person...on-going & forever ????

I await your reply.

Correct .....Now who are the Jews ,those being referred to ? Romans 2
27 And shall not uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfil the law, judge thee, who by the letter and circumcision dost transgress the law?
28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
So it turns out that the Jews mentioned here are in fact the "true believers "
then it follows that...
Ecclesiastes chapter 8 verse 5
5 Whoso keepeth the commandment shall feel no evil thing: and a WISE MAN'S HEART discerneth both time and judgment

which brings up this question are we to believe that "YOU BELIEVE "in a 1000 year reign here on earth ? and that the temple will be rebuilt ?etc...etc...etc...

be sure to attend the forum !

I encourage everyone to check this information out in the Bible themselves. Remember, we
must approach the Bible with a willingness to accept whatever it teaches, no matter how much we don't
like it or how unpopular the truth is. If we continue to think in our day that we already know what the
Bible teaches, then the Bible will remain a sealed book to us.........

For the LORD hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes
the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered. And the vision of all is become unto
you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying
Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed. (Isaiah 29:10-11)
May the Lord bless you and give you peace.

In other words, God is telling us that there is important information concerning the time of the end that has been recorded in the Bible (“the book”) but is not to be revealed by God until the world is near its end.
In Revelation 22:18-19 we read:

For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things...........
These verses absolutely assure us that after the Bible was completed about 95 A.D. no other words could ever be added to the Bible. Therefore, whatever end-time information had been given to Daniel, but was not to be understood until the time of the end, had to have been included in the Bible before the Bible was completed. However, God wrote it in such a way that it could not be understood until the world was almost at its end. Remember, understanding comes only from the Lord Jesus Christ, as we read in Luke 24:45: “Then opened He their understanding, that they might understand the Scriptures.” This explains why the Bible is written in such complex and difficult-to- understand language. It is one reason why Christ spoke in parables, even as we read in Mark 4:34: “But without a parable spake He not unto them.”
