What was Abraham before the promise?
Israel is a nation of a promise.
You and I were once pagans. God called us, gave us a new name just as he did Abraham, and made us a holy nation to praise him.
Remember Ismael is of direct descendant. Also Esau. Are they children of promise? Or are then part of ethnic Israel. Have they entered into the rest Christ brings. Will all the ethnic Jews who died before the incarnation be part of Israel. Will those who died in the wilderness inherit the promise given to Abraham? Will dead Jews receive a circumcised heart, according Romans 2:29.
Is everyone who attending a Christian church part of the Body of Christ; the true Israel. If so, then every ethnic Jew continuing to offer the required sacrifices given them is spiritual Israel and part of the corporeal Body. We can ignore Paul's grief over those who held his view about the true Jew. I am equally grieved that many in my family profess Christianity while siding with the world view about Christians. No unity.

As to "Israel." I believe the Israel of God is one people throughout history.

Too long we've used misnomers that water down the truth; assuaging the effectiveness of God's word.
We are to speak the truth in love.
And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, (2 Timothy 2:24).
And love as God loved us while we were yet dead in our trespasses and sins.

Know that posters are praying for you to come to the knowledge of the truth. You are in the situation you're in because you have rejected truth, In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them (2 Cor 4:4).
Prayerfully, the God of all grace will extend your days that you will come to know Him who is true. Then like most of us who post will rejoice with you.
We were once in darkness and boy it was dark. We thought we could see. But when the light of the glorious broke through our vile mindset, we rejoiced. This saviour cannot even be imagined. He has to reveal himself to you in truth. You'll discover that Satan has blinded millions like yourself.
Guess what? He'll even give you a new name.
We are praying that soon you will see the salvation of the Lord.
