David too, I believe it's more a product of the emergent crowd. They have corrupted all of the major 'Christian' publishers. Even Baker Books.

David, I noticed that, too.

If you lived in Georgia (like I do) and knew who Billy Payne is (runs the Masters) you would understand. The UGA Dawgs are like a religion to a lot of folks here. Often to the point of being obnoxious. It's hard to go to any public gathering here without some nut yelling 'GO DAWGS!' at the top of their lungs.

jpw, I'm not at all shocked that these intrusions COULD happen. I'm shocked that anybody with half a brain would suggest that it's OK for them TO happen.

GW Bush and both sides of the congressional aisle declared war on personal liberty and the Bill of Rights via their 'homeland security' nonsense and the American people stepped right into it.

But for otherwise reasonable people to accept the idea that some government entity can be allowed unwarranted access to an individual's home or children is unfathomable. Some of these folks on SA seem to think it's just to be expected! I disagree and anybody who's attempted an even cursory reading of the Constitution should understand why. Where on earth does anybody get the idea that some government agent can get into any citizen's home or personal business without a VERY good reason (and a warrant)?

Never and that's the point. They have not and should not ever. The truth is, it shouldn't even be a consideration in a free country governed by the rule of law.

Isn't that assuming an imaginary negative? Are we to assume that the government has an obligation to enter anyone's home at any time and inspect for 'buggery, bestiality, mormon and muslim polygamy and all manner of evil'? How can it not repulse you to dare suggest living in that kind of police state tyranny? What kind of world must you live in to even suggest that level of government intrusion? Are you aware of the freedoms and rights outlined in our Constitution and Bill of Rights as American citzens? (Assuming Nimfy is an American.) Where do any of you get the idea that any US government entity or agent has a smidgen of unbridled freedom to intrude into my or ANY citizen's opportunity to live as they please within the parameters of our system of law? At what point would you allow the intrusion to end? What you are advocating is facsism.

This thread is so bizarre it's almost surreal.

This is unbelievable.

What some of you (Lincoln, Homeschooler, Dirk Yoder) are advocating are nothing short of gestapo tactics. This is America - it is absolutely none of the government's business whatsoever what goes on in my home or anyone else's home unless there is reason to believe the law is being broken or someone is in physical danger. No government entity or agent should have access without a court issued warrant. How on earth can you justify them entering otherwise? Why is it ANY of their business?

I've known hundreds if not thousands of homeschooling families thru the years and I can't ever remember any of them ever breaking the law or anyone being intentionally injured.

The government schools are where you find metal detectors and roaming police officers, not my living room. If you want the governement to run your life & raise your kids, send them to their schools.

If that is indeed the case, then I sincerely apologize to Jim and I truly appreciate his (Jim's) service to our country. If what Neil says is correct, I am wrong and I am sorry. Thanks, Neil.

But I still believe Jim's posts to be often inane, usually shallow and sometimes even blasphemous. This nonsense he's posted on American homeschooling represents a statist, big government mindset that just gets my goat.

That may be the stupidest thing you've posted yet on an SA thread, Jim Lincoln, and that's saying something.

Where is the world do you get the horribly misguided idea that 'state officials' have any business at all coming into my house uninvited to check on ANYTHING much less to check on my (now grown and gone) children? What is the matter with you? It isd simply NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS.

We homeschooled at our house for over 20 years and I can assure you that if somebody from the 'state' had tried to come into my home without a warrant and an armed escort they would have left sorely disappointed and probably have had their feelings badly hurt.

No 'state official' has any business at all concerning themselves with what goes on in my home (or anyone elses) unless there's a REAL good reason to suspect something. When I notified the county that I would be homeschooling each year, I wasn't asking permission -I was telling them my intentions (as a courtesy).

BTW - How do you manage to post on virtually every single thread here around the clock, Jim? Is your wife still out earning you a living? Does she know what you're doing all day while she's working? Shouldn't you be working? Maybe get a hobby?

Look at the four pictures of the candidates at the top of this article.
Romney is made to look strong & noble. Like some kind of determined visionary. The other three are pictured as goofball buffoons.

Americans are being played again by the media, just like we were with Dole and McCain. It's sad.

No, I'm not a Ruckmanite.

I believe the original authors who penned the original Hebrew and Greek manuscripts were certainly inspired by the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit literally breathed the words of Scripture that Lincoln is referring to into the minds and hearts of the men who penned them. They reveal the very mind of God and they contain all that we need to know regarding all of life and our eternal destiny. I love those words and they have been my constant companion for most of my life. I love the God who gave them.

For someone like JL who apparently considers himself to be a follower of Christ (I don't believe that) to speak or write about the inspired words of Scripture in that way is incomprehensible. You could almost expect as much from a rank infidel but for someone to claims the name of Christ and who appears to spend 99% of their time cutting and pasting links on a good Christian website is inexcusable. I'm not offended personally - I am sickened and disgusted. I am reminded of when Peter told Simon the Sorcerer, "Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee".

Some may think I'm making more of this than need be but I take Jesus' words regarding blasheming the Holy Spirit very seriously. Jim Lincoln should, too.

Yes, you did, Jim.

Here is your exact post from the thread 'Museum To Mark King James Bible's 400th' on 9/22/11 at 3:06 pm:

"Ah, the sweet sounds of Satan, eh, John? The AV is a bloated, bombastic, version of the Bible made to sound great, including it's errors. Ah, the sweet siren song of Satan. God is plain speaking, he doesn't need artifacts to get his message across."

Deny it again, Jim. That is one of the most sickening things I have ever read. You are a disgusting, blasphemous human being.

No, Jim Lincoln.

If I'm not mistaken the statement you made was something to the effect that the words of the AV are the hiss of the serpent. I pointed it out to you at the time you posted it. That is outright blasphemy and you ought to be ashamed of yourself. God's Word is not a toy to be trifled with or something for you to play games with. To dispute a point with facts (Gil Rugh's or otherwise) is one thing. To say something like that is another and has no place among believers. Your flippant remarks regarding the Psalms of David are almost equally as childish.

You absolutely disgust me, Jim, and if SA deletes this post or blocks me for saying so, so be it. To stoop to the levels that you have to win a point in a discussion that you appear to know little or nothing about is foolish and wrong.

Psalms Only: You are wasting your time discussing anything with Jim Lincoln. And you are 100% correct about his blasphemy & this isn't the first time. Recently he attributed God's Words in the AV to satan. I want nothing to do with him and I would encourage others to ignore him as well. If you sleep with dogs you'll wake up with fleas.

Jim doesn't know anything that Gil Rugh doesn't post online and what he does think he knows is usually wrong.

Beware Jim Lincoln. I'm surprised anyone still talks to him. I've seen Sermon Audio block others for far more minor infractions than Lincoln's blasphemous comments.

I find it amusing how even as recently as 50 years ago men wore suits & ties to big league baseball games in America. Folks used to dress up for everything. Now I often see women at so-called 'worship' services dressed like whores and men often look like they've been surfing. Personally, I believe it's the rock & roll culture's influence.

I doubt if God cares one way or the other how one dresses when believers gather for corporate worship as long as they dress MODESTLY. Sadly, modest dress is rare at churches or anywhere else these days.

I've known a lot of people thru the years who wouldn't attend church because they felt like they didn't have clothes that were nice enough or didn't own a suit. That shouldn't be.

No child from a Christian home should ever darken the door of a government school under any circumstances.

I don't believe the government has any business being involved in education at all but I also understand that there will always be those who will clamor for this equivalent of educational food stamps.

Government schools are little more than free day care warehouses and humanistic initiation centers turning out little Godless statists.

No Christian parent should EVER turn their child over to the government to be educated.

I've known tons of children who've read the King James Bible and I've never heard even one say it's difficult to understand.

How did we end up with adults who are apparently too stupid to comprehend it? One man I know even goes so far as to literally blaspheme God's Word because he's incapable of understanding it.

John Yurich,

It can be and IS evil because it's based on a rhythmic style that originated in the dark jungles of Africa and moved to the Mississippi Delta with the slaves and called (once in the States) 'the blues'. It was a noise up until then unknown to a mostly Christian & western culture. Elvis, the Beatles and many others adopted it, prostituted it for profit and sold it to young people. Now those young people have grown up, moved it into the churches and they call it 'worship'. It's worship alright but not of a Holy God. They even 'rap' in churches now which means they've pretty much come full cicle.

I'll be made fun of and ridculed for saying this because that's a rock & roller's only defense but I do not care. What I've said here is 100% true. I do know what I am talking about.
