Dear Fredrick, I had a born-from-above-experence twenty years ago, but only recently came to some peace, and a somwhat ordered life. As for me the blessing came from understanding the answer to the question "how is a person made right with God". This is known as the doctrine of justification. You can get a free booklet from Chapel Library titled "Justification, the Law, and the Rightousness of Christ" by Charles Hodge. email them at [email protected] For me I never had any power over sin because I was depressed and still looking to the world for pleasure. Now I understand that my sins are paid for. They are gone. I am free from the penalty of them. I also understand that God has given me the very righteousness of Christ as a covering. These were both legal transactions in glory that I had nothing to do with. I am now out of danger. I can never be lost because I am united to Christ by God given faith. All that comes to me is love. Even if it is the rod, it is still love. No one can fight sin who thinks he might be damned. Fight to understand, believe, to pray, to read His word. Never give up. Find a Calvinistic Church and attend, but remember salvation is in Christ and not the Church. The first battle is to believe that God is good, willing to save you. |

How much damage has TV done to us?Yet we still love and defend it. Where is our zeal? Where is our gut level hatred for TV? 1 John 2:15-17 15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. The time to get RID of the thing from your house is NOW. |

Jim, I think your viewpoint on this is a mile wide and a inch deep. You mean to tell me you think it is OK for the State to grab 400+ kids with no hard evidence of wrong doing? What is your axe to grind with this cult? What do you have that you were not given? 1Cor 4.7 If I died I think I would rather have my kid given to one of these people than to a modern so-called christian who would send them to public schools and then let them look at TV. Come on brother, THINK! |

It goes a little deeper than that, Mark M.Who has the right to determine the correct Greek manuscripts to base our English translation of the NT on? The Church by usage, or liberal scalars? The diferance between the Textus Receptus and the hodgepodge that is the foundation of modern versions is not minor. As you look into it, try and ignore most of the KJV-only crud. J.P. Green's literal and Young's Literal NT are the only other choices that I know of that are based on the TR. There are sound reasons to stick with a TR based version of the NT. May God bless you as you look into this. |
