Too radical for you, the teaching of the Lord Jesus Christ?
Preach on, Bro John!

Jim Lincoln,

This little boy bravely spoke out publicly and gave the praise to God in the article, and you are quoting from your perverted NASB about money?

This probably shouldn't surprise me because you and your teacher, Gil Rugh are still babes in Christ using and promoting that counterfeit bible. I am very grateful we have a God of patience as well as second chances. Perhps one of these days someone will show you and/or your pastor an omitted or changed scripture that will wake you both up!

Unfortunately, I also wasted a lot of time in the NIV, NASB, NKJV, etc.but a scripture omitted in the first chaper of Revelation convinced me in 1998 to only use the KJV.(I had started with the KJV in 1938 in Omaha when I was 5yrs old and attended a Methodist church on Woolworth Avenue.)

Your concern ought really to be the worldwide preaching of the gospel to every man, which the 'church' still has not accomplished, even though this is the revealed will of God as found in scripture. We are falling further and further behind, and if we do not get off our behind and start working for the Lord, he will continue to be disappointed with us.
Bro John,

Your comment was very well said with the bibical truth you used! That was excellent as it is very timely!

"Can it be said that you "lift up your voice and seek God"? How often do you take advantage of the wonderful blessing of prayer? The moment Christ died on the Cross, the veil in the Temple that separated the Holy of Holies and man was rent in two. God no longer needed a divide from the sinfulness of man; Christ had paid the price. Man is now free to approach God at any time and speak with Him.

What a wonderful blessing! As a child of God, you have direct access to God's throne through prayer. Just as my children have access to my office anytime they need me, so you too can seek your Heavenly Father about anything.

Thank God that through the shedding of His Son's blood, you have access to Him. Thank Him that He not only hears your prayers but answers your needs. Spend time right now enjoying the presence of God through prayer. Take time to approach Him, abide in Him, and enjoy the presence of your Heavenly Father. Baptist Bread)

Bless you Bro John for showing up. I got occupied with some other endeavor and I forgot about the last part. Reading these messages first thing in the morning is a very good way to start the day by geting your focus right. I hope all is well with you and I will be sure to keep you in my prayers. Please do the same for me.

Dear Pastor, Do I have to say grace before every meal? Even when I am only having a peanut butter and jelly sandwich? Wesley. (Age 9)

Dear Pastor, Thank you for your sermon on Sunday. I will write more when my mother explains to me what you said. Yours truly, Justin. (Age 9, Westport)
Dear Pastor, Please pray for all the airline pilots. I am flying to California tomorrow. Laurie. (Age 10)

Dear Pastor, We say grace every night before we eat dinner even when we have leftovers from the night before. Yours truly, Jacki. (Age 9)

Dear Pastor, I say my prayer before I eat my supper but my mother still makes me finish my spinach and drink my milk. Julie. (Age 9)

Aren't you thankful for prayer? God has given us direct access to Him whenever we want. No longer are sacrifices needed to reach God. And no man must interceded for us. We can approach God at any time through His Son Jesus Christ.

The Psalmist spent much time in prayer to God, "My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up." It didn't matter if he needed advice on an important decision or if he simply wanted to speak with God, the Psalmist lifted up his voice to seek God.

Sorry about delay, was handing out gospel tracts (Con't

Thankful for Prayer
Friday, November 27, 2009
by Dr. Paul Chappell

"Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation. Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray. My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up. For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee. The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity. Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the LORD will abhor the bloody and deceitful man. But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple. Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face."
Psalm 5:1-8 (KJV)

No longer must we approach God through a sacrifice; we have direct access to Him anytime.

A list was once compiled of requests children had made to their pastors. The following are a few examples:

Dear Pastor, I know God loves me but I wish He would give me an "A" on my report card so I could be sure. Love, Theresa. (Age 8, Milwaukee)

These daily messages are too long for one comment. I will post again in an hour.

"We may complain about how others make a mockery of Thanksgiving Day with football and shopping, but how you give thanks to God is what is important. One lady made a difference. What difference are you making? One little lady drove a nation to the throne of God in thanksgiving for His benevolent blessing and constant care. If ever our country needed to bow at His feet-it is now! What a difference that would make!
-Pastor Chris Staub, Silver Ln Baptist Church, Dearborn, MI

just a thought,

Amen to your comment as that was well thought out!

UK John,

If you read this, my address is a medium po box not one on the street. It is too small for large packages . This is much more convenient when you get a larger delivery and don't have to track down some delivery from UPS or FedX.

Perhaps if this country remembered what God has GIVEN us and were thankful instead of what we don’t have, it wouldn’t seem so gloomy during this season!

“One Lady Made A Difference”

“And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, “Luke 17:15 AV

One Lady made a difference. Her name was Sarah Hale. She was the writer of the famous children’s poem, Mary Had A Little Lamb. But if it were not for Sarah Hale’s determination, we might not even have a Thanksgiving Day. She believed that the US needed a national holiday to give thanksgiving to God. The pilgrims had celebrated the first thanksgiving in 1621. In 1789, George Washington issued a Thanksgiving Day proclamation. However, by the time that the third president came around, it was discontinued. Sarah Hale petitioned leaders, wrote letters, and sought appointments to have a thanksgiving day of thanksgiving. She was politely refused time after time. In 1863, Pres Lincoln listened to her passionate plea that the North and South would lay their enmities aside for one special day of thanksgiving. He granted her request and declared the 4th Thurs of Nov to be the official Thanksgiving Day. Congress finally ratified a national Thanksgiving Day in 1941. Continued

"I then express my thankfulness to the Lord Jesus for volunteering to come to earth, His virgin birth, His virtuous life, His vicarious suffering, His victorious shedding of His blood, His victorious resurrection, His valuable intercession, His soon-visible return, and His vibrant reign of the earth.

By this time, all my mountains have become molehills and I am ready to face another day with gratitude in my soul. Try it, it might work for you also.-TW

Bro John, What do you think of the Defined KJV? Don't you agree that one of the reasons that Christian bookstores aren't selling it is that it would do away with any need for other versions?

Beautiful artwork, Bro, should I be checking my mail before Christmas!

“Thanksgiving Everyday”

“Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!” AV Psalm 107:8

"I am glad we set aside a day in Nov. every year to think about the pilgrims, to eat turkey with our families, and to count our blessings, expressing gratitude to God for His bounty.

Thanksgiving, however, ought to be a daily habit and a way of life. When I get out of bed in the morning, I go to my place of prayer and begin to tell the Lod how grateful I am for His loving kindness, tender mercies, amazing grace, wonderful love, blessed forgiveness, abundant life, peace that passeth all understanding, joy unspeakable, the promise of a glorified body, the privilege of living in the New Jerusalem, and the opportunity for serving the Lord Jesus in His millennial reign upon the earth! Then I cry out with the Psalmist, “Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!” I have praised Him for His work of the creation of the universe, inspiration of the Bible, salvation of lost souls, sanctification of life, preservation of the believer, glorification of our bodies, and the culmination of the last days on the earth."

Would someone let me finish this, please?

Lurker,

"It is my honest opinion that when there is contention in the heart of two persons debating, there are two things which generally result. Most people would claim only one problem exits, that being, that one side is unwilling to listen; but I am convinced, and these Sermon Audio threads have thoroughly persuaded me of this fact, that not only does that attitude cause the person listening to shut his ears (rather his understanding, or perhaps his willingness to understand), but it also affects the person speaking in such a manner as causes him to communicate in an unclear manner.

"Communication is the exchange of ideas, but there is no profit as long as those ideas are rejected. And often they are rejected because they explode upon impact."

Those were the comments I was referring to. If the person is teachable and listening, that is not wasting our time whether here or on the street.

Lurker, I did tell JD he could make better use of his time rather than have his head "spinning" all the time debating. Hopefully they have all found better ways to serve the Lord than an endless debate. Christians should be edifying each other not "combating" as we don't know who else reads these comments.

Thank you for responding kindly. May God bless you.

Alan H,

You just made a very wise comment. The AV is very clear on what you stated in two scriptures.

2Ti 2:23 "But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do engender strifes."

Tit 3:9 "But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain."

Lurker has been doing this type of thing when JD was posting here. John Y has been advised to leave the RCC and and others have told Jim Lincoln he is promoting a counterfeit Bible, all to no avail!

Perhaps JY and JL will come to their right mind before they take their last breath, but neither are listening at this time.

There are people that are dying every day that need to hear the gospel. This seems like a much better way to spend the time than on SA. That is not just my opinion as the two scriptures seem to apply here to what you said .

It's time we tell them, "You don't have to pray; you don't have to say the Pledge of Allegiance; you don't have to believe in God or attend services that honor Him. That is your right, and we will honor your right; but by golly, you are no longer going to take our rights away. We are fighting back, and we WILL WIN!"

God bless us one and all...Especially those who denounce Him, God bless America , despite all her faults She is still the greatest nation of all. God bless our service men who are fighting to protect our right to pray and worship God.

Let's make 2009 the year the silent majority is heard and we put God back as the foundation of our families and institutions. And our military forces come home from all the wars."

I don't always agree with Andy Rooney on a lot of issues, but this one he got right!!!

But what about the atheists? Is another argument. What about them?

Nobody is asking them to be baptized. We're not going to pass the collection plate. Just humor us for 30 seconds. If that's asking too much, bring a Walkman or a pair of ear plugs. Go to the bathroom. Visit the concession stand. Call your lawyer! Unfortunately, one or two will make that call. One or two will tell thousands what they can and cannot do. I don't think a short prayer at a football game is going to shake the world's foundations.

Christians are just sick and tired of turning the other cheek while our courts strip us of all our rights. Our parents and grandparents taught us to pray before eating, to pray before we go to sleep. Our Bible tells us to pray without ceasing. Now a handful of people and their lawyers are telling us to cease praying. God, help us. And if that last sentence offends you, well, just sue me.

The silent majority has been silent too long. It's time we tell that one or two who scream loud enough to be heard that the vast majority doesn't care what they want. It is time that the majority rules! It's time we tell them, "You don't have to pray; you don't have to say the Pledge of Allegiance; you don't have to believe in God Continued

Andy Rooney and Prayer

"I don't believe in Santa Claus, but I'm not going to sue somebody for singing a Ho-Ho-Ho song in December. I don't agree with Darwin, but I didn't go out and hire a lawyer when my high school teacher taught his Theory of Evolution. Life, liberty or your pursuit of happiness will not be endangered because someone says a 30-second prayer before a football game. So what's the big deal? It's not like somebody is up there reading the entire Book of Acts. They're just talking to a God they believe in and asking him to grant safety to the players on the field and the fans going home from the game.

But it's a Christian prayer, some will argue. Yes, and this is the United States of America, a country founded on Christian principles. According to our very own phone book, Christian churches outnumber all others better than 200-to-1. So what would you expect -- somebody chanting Hare Krishna?

If I went to a football game in Jerusalem, I would expect to hear a Jewish prayer. If I went to a soccer game in Baghdad, I would expect to hear a Muslim prayer. If I went to a ping pong match in China, I would expect to hear someone pray to Buddha. And I wouldn't be offended. It wouldn't bother me one bit. When in Rome...

What about the atheist? Continued

Jim Lincoln,

If you are content to use the NASB so be it because that is your business. But your comments to demean the KJB on a Christian website are despicable which means they are so worthless or obnoxious as to rouse moral indignation. I too also hope there is no one that takes what you have said seriously because you have been deceived with a false belief regarding biblical perservation and think you are doing a service sharing this deception with others!!!

Let me clarify what The Defined KJB is for those who might be interested.

"There has been NO change whatsoever in the AV as it has been kept as the standard which has united English speaking people throughout the world. There have been only clarifying footnotes based upon sound English dictionaries and, where needed, the orginal Hebrew and Greek languages. This bible is not only a teaching tool, but also a devotional blessing.

These are two portions of Scripture concerning the understanding of the Words of God. The first is Neh. 8:8: "So they read in the book of the law of God distinctly, and "to understand the reading." It will cause you to know "the sense and "to understand the reading. They do not need to go to one of the modern versions which have inferior Hebrew and Greek texts, inferior translators, inferior translation technique and inferior theology.

A second portion is in Acts 8:30 states that Philip, when he met the Ethiopian Eunich, "ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?" The Eunuch's reply was "How can I except some man should guide me?" The footnotes in the Defined King James Bible will act as a "guide" so that you, too, might understand "what thou readest."
