Y'all need to fire nearly the whole congress! There is so much emphasis on the presidential campaign, but It will make little difference which candidate wins. With good men in congress you can at least keep POTUS in check.
Great Sermon! Thank you Pastor for such a convicting message. It is true that we do what we want to do. The Lord has used this message in my life to examine what are my priorities.
Must Listen for PARENTS!!! What an encouraging sermon!! The principles Pastor Conway brings out, especially regarding the character of God as revealed in the Old Testament concerning laws about vows are AMAZINGLY strengthening for a Christian's convictions about Biblical manhood and womanhood. One of the many practical applications for our family (with two teenage sons) was how dating (as opposed to courting with marital intentions) is "playing" with another man's wife. For instance, one day this girl who has had her lips kissed (defiled) by a man not her husband, will be married. Will you want your precious gift from God of a wife defiled by another man in that way? He has meant her for you alone, not to be emotionally toyed with and fondled by some man who will not be her husband...And what about your heart? Are you going to play the dating game and give your dreams, emotions and love to a women who will just skip on over to the next guy? The sacredness that God has designed for marriage is supported from a perspective not often preached on in our day. Highly recommended.
Parents Must Listen!!!! Do not be deceived about your role as a parent - let the Word of God exhort, correct, rebuke and train you in raising your sons and daughters God's way. This powerful sermon was so encouraging to hear, it goes against not only the culture's idea of femininity and parental responsibility, but it goes against wishy-washy soft or just plain circumvented preaching on the subject as well. Highly recommended.
Thank you Lord! What a blessing. This woman was asked to address a regular ladies bible study class when as pastor would be away and did the Lord ever use her as a "substitute" to bring correction and growth to me as she shared from her own experiences as a wife. Here's one example: Ladies, we are constantly judging and advising. "Why are you late?" That's a judgment. "You should have gotten here earlier" That's advising our husbands. Our husbands need us to exude understanding, not judgment and advising. "Oh I'm sorry you're late, you must have had a rough day, I'm so glad you're home. What happened?" This address was just so helpful in showing me wrong attitudes and usurping my husband's authority unintentionally. Thank you!
just a comment on taking up arms The state that Paul exhorted to be subject to was indeed evil and oppressive. The revolution that one of the listeners want is actually what the elite wants. They are provoking people to rebellion just as they have done before during history. We as christians shall expose evil and warn others, but we are not called to take up arms against the evildoers.I don't think that it should be forbidden to have a gun in the house, because that would only give the criminals the guts to rob just any house they want. Just by knowing that there COULD be a weapon in the house prevents some criminals from breaking in.
But christians are not supposed to kill!!!!
Bob Jones should go to the library and check out the mormons Doctrine and Covenants book and also their "Gospel Principles" book. this cult believes that their "apostles" still receive new revelations. scary thought when Christ plainly declared at Calvary "IT IS FINISHED". Just who reveals to them their NEW revelations.
God only knows "At the last day" could also mean end of the age. I've been pretty dogmatic in interpretations, and later, held a different view. The presentation was interesting, but it would be nice to know who the sermon speaker is on this subject matter. I use the King James Bible also.
Great Sermon! Hey. I heard some references to towns I'm familiar with in S. Illinois. Just wondered where you guys are located. I used to live in DeSoto, IL. Great message.
