To add to Praise Him's and Dr. Phil's faithful witness:Lazarus (John 11) was 3+ days dead; Lord Jesus called him ..."he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go." nl: would you put to Lazarus's credit or ability to come forth? No. Same with the salvation which God has accomplished in Himself: Jesus Christ having died, being buried, and risen on the 3rd day. He is Life and it is Him that works in us to do and will of HIS good pleasure!!!!!!!The true REST in the redeemed is our LORD JESUS. All the rest is the fruit of HIS SPIRIT: not our volition. God from the beginning despised man putting his hand even to the stones used to build! not of works, that any man should boast! The new Life in Jesus bears fruit; did you ever see an apple tree strain to produce fruit? Yet you, nl, seem to want to give the creation credit for what only our Blessed Lord God deserves all honor or praise! I hope and pray you will come to know His true rest in Jesus. He who began a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6) |

nl: God will not give His glory to another. You are trying to take credit for saving yourself. Lord Jesus says: "No man can come to me, except the Father, which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the alst day. (John 6:44) nl: You don't believe the word of God; God is showing you mercy with faithful believers here telling you. Be afraid; and harden not your heart; In His graciousness, God treats His bountiful mercy and gifts of forgiveness by the Blood of Jesus Christ, King of kings and LORD of lords, by applying pronouns such as "thy faith has saved thee" His gifts are given without repentance and are truly GIVEN. His graciousness also proclaiims: "Be holy for I am holy" Do you really think you or me or anyone can make themself holy???? If y ou think so, you are in total darkness. The verb is actually in the passive: He makes us holy by the Righteousness in Christ who imputes His Righteousness to wretched sinners whom God has chosen before the foundation of the world. He hated Esau and loved Jacob (Romans 9) before they did good or evil. He is the Potter we are the clay. His Word does not return void, nl, you will be judged by it on the last day, or it will by His Spirit, convince you of sin, judgment and Righteousness. |
