IkeMike wrote: He gave man free will. Free will to either love Him, or hate Him. RK responds, The only man that had free will was Adam, and look what a mess he did with it. Now all his descendent are born with a corrupt will and are slaves to sin. Sin is their master. John 8:34 KJV [34] Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. |

John UK, No anathemas intended, just showing the importance of the love of the truth. I agree with you about the deceptive Anglicans, but we must not allow their empirical use of their confession cause us to neglect sound doctrine. Deuteronomy 32:1-3 KJV [1] Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth. [2] My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass: [3] Because I will publish the name of the Lord : ascribe ye greatness unto our God. |

John UK writes, Those who truly believe that Jesus is the Christ are already born again. With emphasis on "truly believe". The ones you mentioned pay lip service to certain doctrines, but it is only mental assent, say, to a creed or confession. RK responds, Even though you didn't say my name, we know of whom this is in reference. But I understand, you still have a lot to learn about faith. There are very few who can understand or define faith apart from some metaphysical feeling or experience. It is these who are ripe for the delusion to come because they don't see that Christ can't be separated from His doctrine. Like the Pentecostals they can't move past the experience or the emotion to "receive the love of the truth". Whether you believe it or not, faith is the evidence of things NOT SEEN, it a assent to the truth with a regenerated mind; this is not the same as lip service. Philippians 2:5 KJV [5] Let this MIND be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 2 Thessalonians 2:9-11 KJV [9] Even him , whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, [10] And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. Liza J, I know you will appreciate the sound doctrine form this old hymn (especially the second verse) Rock of Ages, Cleft for Me Text: Augustus M. Toplady, 1. Rock of Ages, cleft for me, let me hide myself in thee; let the water and the blood, from thy wounded side which flowed, be of sin the double cure; save from wrath and make me pure. 2. Not the labors of my hands can fulfill thy law's commands; could my zeal no respite know, could my tears forever flow, all for sin could not atone; thou must save, and thou alone. 3. Nothing in my hand I bring, simply to the cross I cling; |

UPS, Please allow me to quote CH Spurgeon which reflects my sentiments, and perhaps you will agree; "When a man falls into an error, but reverently conceives that he finds it in his Bible, he is on a very different footing from the man who says that he judges by his moral consciousness, or some other unreliable standard, and declares that if the Bible contradicts him he will sooner renounce Scripture than change his opinions. We can have a measure of fellowship with a mistaken friend who is willing to bow before the teaching if Scripture if he can be made to understand it; but we must part company altogether with the errorist, who overrides prophets and apostles, and practically regards his own inspiration as superior to theirs. We fear that such a man will before long prove himself an enemy to the cross of Christ, all the more dangerous because he will profess loyalty to The Lord whom he dishonors."0 |

Mixed up writes, Maybe you can further enlighten me. RK responds, As I see it, since Jesus is the Word of God which is the mind and thought of God made flesh, to believe him is the same as believing his doctrine. If Jesus taught the doctrine of election (or any doctrine that He or His Apostles taught) and one refuses to believe it, this is the same as not believing in him. John 8:31 KJV [31] Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; |

Mixed up on own from History writes: Biblical Calvinism wrote: I see by your post you are not one of the elect. You don't appear to have the same experience. May the Lord be with you. Well, now that is quite a statement. But here is your opportunity, show me from where you are able to draw that conclusion?RK joins discussion, I think this was the verse he had in mine when he said: John 6:65-66 KJV [65] And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father. [66] From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. AND John 8:31 KJV [31] Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; |

Mike writes, Nary a "can not" there, bro. Will not? Another story, different meaning. RK responds, Mike, how's this for a "can not", John 3:3 KJV [3] Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he CAN NOT see the kingdom of God. or regarding the "will" that you place so much stock in; John 1:13 KJV [13] Which were born, not of blood, NOR OF THE WILL of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. |
