Blog Entry of Christa Brown of JANUARY 25, 2017

Hopeless and Hopeful: Reflections on the past and thoughts for the future
A decade ago, when I first began calling on Baptists to institute protective measures against clergy sex predators, some people warned me that “Baptists are hopeless.” But I was an optimist.

I thought that, if only Baptists understood the extent of the problem, they would surely choose to implement clergy accountability systems similar to those that exist in other major faith groups.

I was wrong.

I thought that, if only Baptists understood the soul-murdering trauma that comes from sexual abuse by clergy, they would take action to better prevent the harm and minister to the wounded.

Again, I was wrong.

The inaction of Baptists derives not from a failure of understanding but from a denominational lack of will and a surfeit of institutional self-protection.

Another word of commendation of Roman Catholic Mystic "Madame Guyon" by renown Baptist Pastor / Preacher C. H. Spurgeon,

lauded as the "prince of preachers", one greatly admired by so many professing Christians, a gifted man well-versed in the Scriptures and highly regarded as a teacher and guide in all things Christian.

Mr. Spurgeon has gone so far as to refer to "Madame Guyon" as a "Christian woman", as cited below in my prior comment.

Yet another admiring word of "Madame Guyon" by C.H. Spurgeon . . the "prince of preachers" . .

1) “When you read books like Rutherford's Letters, or Madame Guyon's Sonnets, or George Herbert's Poems, you must not think that everybody may speak so.

These were the Johns and the Marys, the favourites of heaven; they had dwelt so long with the King that he permitted to them, nay, he fostered in them, things that would be impertinences in strangers, and might not even be seemly to beginners in the things of God.”
****
Wow . . the "Johns and the Marys, the favorites of heaven" ? ?

This "little light" shines for the many clergy abuse victims whose voices have been silenced. Silenced by shame. Silenced by the false instruction of religious leaders. Silenced by church shunning and bullying. Silenced by church contracts for secrecy. Silenced by suicide. The mission of StopBaptistPredators.org is to break the silence of Baptist clergy sex abuse.

Madame Guyon was a Roman Catholic Mystic.

As cited in a prior comment I made below, Madame Guyon is listed among the Roman Catholic mystics endorsed by
The Billy Graham Training Center at the Cove!

but long before Billy Graham,
Renown Baptist Preacher C. H. Spurgeon, lauded as the "prince of preachers", commended Roman Catholic Mystic Madame Guyon . . referring to her as a "Christian woman"

1) “But, brethren, even in the midst of the coldest church we need not depart from a near and elevated fellowship with the Lord. The church of Rome is a church defiled with error trod debased with superstition, but was there ever a nobler
Christian woman in this world than Madame de la Mothe Guyon? She did not depart from Christ, though in the midst of a pestilent atmosphere.”

Graham Center Pushing Contemplative Mysticism / 9/30/2013
The Billy Graham Training Center at the Cove is scheduled to host a contemplative prayer retreat by the Renovaré organization October 29 - November 1. The goal is to "enter into a connection with God" in the "quietness." Renovaré was founded by Richard Foster, who has done more than any other individual to promote Roman Catholic mysticism among Protestants and Baptists. Speakers at the Cove conference will include Richard's son Nathan. Foster's book Celebration of Discipline, which has sold more than two and a half million copies, was selected by Christianity Today as one of the top ten books of the 20th century. Foster advocates Roman Catholic mysticism with absolutely no qualms. He recommends Ignatius of Loyola, Francis of Assisi, Benedict of Nursia, Teresa of Avila, Catherine of Genoa, Julian of Norwich, Brother Lawrence, Dominic, Catherine of Siena, John of the Cross, The Cloud of Unknowing , Madame Guyon, Thomas à Kempis, Catherine Doherty, Meister Eckhart, Thomas Aquinas, Hildegard of Bingen, Francis de Sales, Alphonsus de Liguori, Bernard of Clairvaux, John Henry Newman .

The Untold Story Behind Billy Graham
February 26, 2018 Jim Duke

NOTE: I am a former Roman Catholic, converted to Christ by the grace of God.

Roman Catholicism is NOT Christian. Their popes are Antichrists; their doctrines are doctrines of devils; their traditions are vain; their gospel is "another gospel" . . which is no gospel at all, their rituals are superstitious.
Roman Catholicism is diabolical God-insulting and Christ-dishonouring.

Those professing Christians who promote Roman Catholicism are traitors to the cause of Christ

2 Corinthians 6:14-17
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,"

What most Christians don't know is that the late Billy Graham, so loved and admired by many, promoted Roman Catholicism through his crusades.

Article: The Untold Story Behind Billy Graham

Decisions Into the Hands of Rome
It is known that the Billy Graham Crusade send many of their “decisions” to Catholic organizations. Is this of the Jesuitical loyalty Graham has sworn? It has been reported that many of the “decisions” have been lost to the Catholic organizations and to the doctrine of Catholicism.
According to a report, the decision cards are not sent to Bible-believing churches in most cases. Many of the cards signed out are sent to Liberal churches in the community. In 1952 the Pittsburgh Sun-Telegraph reported that Graham’s in his own words said,
"Many of the people who reach a decision for Christ at our meetings have joined the Catholic Church and we have received commendations from Catholic publications for the revived interest in their Church following our campaigns. This happened both in Boston and Washington. After all, one of our prime purposes is to help the churches in a community. If after we move on, the local churches do not feel the efforts of these meetings in increased membership and attendance, then our crusade would have to be considered a failure."

After my learning on this forum and the links that were provided, I stopped treating Graham as if he was a Christian and that includes his son Franklin. So, you and I agree fully about him. If FG does something that appears to be Christian, then I will argue that it was done for the wrong reason and that would negate anything spiritual. If we are not in Christ, then we cannot please Christ.

It is hard for me to imagine just how many folks were sent back to their catholic churches from his crusades.

Truly tragic!

Frank,
Yet most on this forum, regard the popes of Rome as Antichrists and the RC "church" as
"MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.” (Rev. 17:5)

Graham has been proven to be an Ecumenist and a promoter of the pope's religion, and he should be exposed as such.

Matt. 7:15
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Billy Graham Led Millions Astray With False Hope, Altar Calls / Source: Pulpit & Pen
Feb. 23, 2018
Excerpts:
Billy Graham was undoubtedly an ecumenicalist, as he praised the pope as his “brother” and treated Roman Catholicism as a valid expression of the Christian faith. Speaking of Pope John Paul II after his death, Graham stated,
I think he’s with the Lord, because he believed. He believed in the Cross. That was his focus throughout his ministry, the Cross, no matter if you were talking to him from personal issue or an ethical problem, he felt that there was the answer to all of our problems, the cross and the resurrection. And he was a strong believer.
Billy Graham not only affirmed Roman Catholics as valid Christian brothers and sisters, but, during an interview with the Universalist, Robert Schuller, Graham denies the exclusivity of Christ

Connecting the dots . . what Christans need to know but may not know

When interfaith bonding rings false
How Christian goodwill was exploited to spread Islam and 'globalize' America
By Susan D. Harris - Opinion/Analysis
Washington Times / 10-17-2017
- Excerpt:
” an array of funders have supported initiatives aimed at pushing back against anti-Muslim sentiments and fostering interfaith dialogue. Groups that have received backing for such work include the Interfaith Alliance, Sojourners, the Shoulder-to-Shoulder Campaign, and New Evangelical Partnership for the Common Good. Because most of these groups work on a range of issues, it’s difficult to identify grants that specifically have supported their work on Islam.”
If you want to play Six Degrees of George Soros, let’s start with the interfaith ShoulderToShoulderCampaign.Org which leads us to 8.5 Million which leads us to ReThink Media which leads us to George Soros‘ Open Society Foundations.
I’m sure my interpretation of what’s happening would be considered intolerant at a tolerance-teaching interfaith meeting: As an evangelical Christian, it sounds like we’re being herded toward the one-world religion the Bible warns us about.

The “Christian denominations” that have forged a bond with Roman Catholics & Muslims in the Interfaith Movement dare NOT speak against these other faith traditions which they have a deep respect for.
Their voices of PROTEST have been effectively silenced and muted. Such is the price of compromise. Not unlike Essau who forfeited his birthright for a mess of pottage.

"Unity must be according to God's Holy Word, or else it were better war than peace. We ought never to regard unity so much that we forsake God's Word for her sake." -Hugh Latimer

UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
The United Methodist Church (UMC) was created in 1968 when it united The Evangelical United Brethren Church and The Methodist Church. Today the UMC is the largest mainline Protestant denomination with over 7.7 million members in the US and Canada. ISNA’s Washington, DC office is housed in the United Methodist Building, and the two organizations work together on a number of interfaith initiatives, including Shoulder-to-Shoulder.

Planners for the third national Baptist/Muslim dialogue at Green Lake Conference Center/American Baptist Assembly in Green Lake, Wis., invited Baptist and Muslim leaders under age 50 interested in establishing ongoing relationships between congregations.

Leaders from the Islamic Society of North America, American Baptist Churches USA, Cooperative Baptist Fellowship and the Alliance of Baptists joined to organize the first Baptist/Muslim dialogue in 2009.
Sponsoring bodies for the third national dialogue between Baptists and Muslims included American Baptist Churches USA, Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, Lott Carey Baptist Foreign Mission Society, Progressive National Baptist Convention, National Baptist Convention of America International, Alliance of Baptists and Canadian Baptist Ministries.

Protestants no longer PROTEST. Now in league with papal Rome in the RC-driven Interfaith Movement. What an affront to the Reformers who were burned at the stake by the Antichrist popes. What contempt the Interfaith collaborators have shown these godly men who took an uncompromising stand against anti-Christian papal Rome.
What a mockery these One-World / Interfaith religionists have made of the religion of Christ, those who say “there are many ways to God.”, repudiating the very words of the Lord Jesus Christ:
“I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
- - John 14:6
They have effectively called Christ a liar! What a contemptible betrayal of the Lord of life and glory! How God-insulting & Christ dishonouring!

PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH (U.S.A.)
The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), with denominational offices in Louisville, Kentucky, has approximately 2.3 million members, more than 10,000 congregations and 14,000 ordained and active ministers. Presbyterians trace their history to the 16th century and the Protestant Reformation. The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and ISNA work together in interfaith coalitions such as the Faithful Budget Campaign, the Interfaith Disability Advocacy Coalition, and Shoulder-to-Shoulder.

More on Bob Roberts, Jr., Evangelical Texas Pastor who figures prominently in the Inter-faith / Multi-faith Movement

1) The New World Order: Church / by: The Lily / Source: Arts & Culture

Leighton Ford promotes Roman Catholic contemplative prayer (Eastern mysticism) in his book The Attentive Life (2008). All his spiritual heroes are mystics.
Ford’s brother-in-law Billy Graham is an ecumenical 33rd degree Freemason; his Lausanne Movement promotes contemplative prayer. Graham and Ford also endorse Eugene Peterson’s The Message, a New Age paraphrase of the Bible intended to lead sheep into the New World Order. The phrase “as above, so below” in the Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6) refers to syncretistic Jewish cabbalism, or the occult. It isn’t Christian.
The most alarming name is Doug Coe. He was mentored by Billy Graham before leading The Family or The Fellowship Foundation, a position he’s held since 1969. Coe likens this group to a “Christian mafia.” The phrase is apt, since the Jesuit-controlled Knights of Malta supply most of the money. The goal of this Vatican-based secret society is to lead Protestants back to the Pope so they can create a one-world religion. The secret global membership list is archived at the Billy Graham Center at Wheaton College.

Bob Robert's "spiritual fathers"

Doug Coe – spiritual mentor; leader of The Family (National Prayer Breakfast)
Leighton Ford – spiritual mentor; Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (VP), Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (board member), Lausanne Committee for World Evangelization (honorary life chairman), Leighton Ford Ministries (president), World Vision USA (board member)
Kent Humphreys (d. 2013) – businessman; [email protected] (president), The Navigators (board of directors)
Jim Hylton – retired pastor, Northwood Church (staff pastor)
Bob Roberts Sr. (author’s father)

Some of these men are apostates. They teach dominion theology, ecumenism, and New Age religion – anything but real Christianity. The philosophies of Buford’s mentor Peter Drucker drove the church growth movement through Rick Warren. Leighton Ford promotes Roman Catholic contemplative prayer (Eastern mysticism) in his book The Attentive Life (2008). All his spiritual heroes are mystics.

1) The New World Order: Church by: The Lily

Bob Roberts Jr. is the founding pastor of NorthWood Church in Keller, Texas (near Dallas). The statement of faith for this non-denominational charismatic church appears doctrinally sound. I cannot say the same for Roberts, his church, or his new book Lessons from the East (2016).[1]
One of Roberts’ many lessons is “family connections,” which he believes will guide the Western church “from sterile institutions to authentic relationships” (75). One such connection is the “apostolic and prophetic” role of “spiritual fathers and mothers” who will mentor young people (87). Roberts then describes his spiritual fathers. Mentorship is biblical; we must follow leaders who themselves follow Christ (1 Corinthians 11:1). So who is Roberts following? Who are the spiritual fathers that he names in Lessons from the East? Let’s find out.
Bobb Biehl – executive mentor; Focus on the Family (board of directors), Jesus People International (board of directors), World Vision International (executive team)
Bob Buford – author, philanthropist, and cable TV pioneer; Drucker Institute (founding chairman), Leadership Network (co-founder) [church-growth think tank]
