Isn't there a higher-authority in Protestantism who can unplug this crackpot?
Now that is a question that needs to be addressed and it needs to be addressed with a right understanding of the Church's government; apostolically directed (Counsel at Jerusalem Acts. 15 and Ephes. 4 would be a good starting place for some, those not foreign to the OT). There were twelve apostles (not Peter only) but remember they were all Jews. They were not starting a new sect, contrary to their enemies accusations. They were now seeing to a much larger degree then most of those who would follow them, the potential of Aaron's Rod Blossoming - see George Gillespie's brilliant work.

But to answer your question; Why Yes, there is..., but if you don't know what follows the Why Yes; there is...I'll ask you a question: Are you really a Protestant?

Do you believe then, that there is absolutely no truth to be found in this article? I find that highly unlikely, or it would have nothing to draw someone to read it, from start to finish. Lies are best promoted by mixing them with some truth. Romans 1 seems to bear that out. Romans 1:14-20 read all quote limited space won't allow
"I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise... to you that are at Rome also... For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ:... For therein is the righteousness of God revealed... The just shall live by faith. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:"

Agreed.
Meditating on this in private worship:
Romans 9:13-16 "As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated. What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.
For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. 'So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy."'

Compared with Romans 11:32-36 " For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all (Jew and Gentile in context). O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor? Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again? For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen."

Are you sure that they are 'laity'? I remember seeing somewhere in France there is a little monastery where the fellows are very adept at computers and there is some good they are performing for the RCC. We know that Mr. Sarcozy is rather fond of the papist 'clergy'. In the west especially right now, he is definitely not alone, but maybe chief. Appears that their internet liberty is in no way hindered. They seem to have access to a lot of personal info, maybe they are really just selling something and they do this on their breaks from work on-line.

The thing about the www. web of intrigue is that you never know for sure who you are talking to.

I have a question for Frank and jpw as regards their agreement on the globalism conspiracy theory. My question is: Do you really think it is possible to copy true religion and accomplish a world wide synthesis and merger of antiScriptural ideas so as to deceive the whole world without the Spirit of God's consent? Where is it written that he will do so?

What about Revelation 11:15 The kingdom(s) of this world are become the kingdom(s)!!! of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. This chapter tells us after the second woe trumpet and the defeat of Islam together with the conversion of the the Jews in a greater number then hsa heretofore been experienced, and former Muslims now too embracing Jesus Christ with other peoples of the east, that the seventh trumpet and vial will turn West as the judgments of God now will be felt upon the papacy and her harlot daughters of whatever ilk in Church and State? That's what I have been taught from sound Presbyterians, though hidden in books for the most part at this time.

Context means a lot to anyone serious about the Word of God. Any speech writer can do a plug in. You see it here, all the time. The only people that can understand context are those who are serious students of God's Word pastors/teachers and Berean's or any that the gracious Spirit grants his leave, for his Sovereign purpose.

In context we are speaking of apostles and possibly a secondary application would be persecuted Christians. It really was a nice try, but he needs better speech writers or to be converted.

The Church needs to teach and correct her people,of course to do that she needs a good working knowledge of both the Old and New Testament Scriptures and not to have quenched, grieved, vexed, nor tempted the Holy Spirit. To do disdain to His Triune Holiness is to be a synagogue of Satan, at least that is what I understood Christopher Love's Sermon to say on Gal.5:17; concerning the war between the flesh and the Spirit.

The Magistrate has to acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord and Creator God and act accordingly starting with the Constitution and then it needs to do its God ordained job.

Then and only then can God's people rest quietly and the gospel flourish in peace; though I doubt not it will flourish in persecution, it always has historically. Lukewarm demands God's rod; otherwise it is a win/win for the 'Lord's' side.

Miss_Virtue,
The Scripture has much to say regarding these things in both the Old and New Testaments. Balance is key. Having read a number of your posts I can empathize with what you say. I thought of something that might be of help.

I once had a minister who was raised in the Scottish/Irish RPCNA in NYC. He spoke often of his mother, never of his father and mostly of his difficult youth. Something he taught that stuck with me was that Paul wrote 1 Cor.7 against the background of present persecution. Scripture is relevant for all times, but particularly relevant when it was penned during a similar time. Imagine; you're under persecution from family, church and state; now read 1 Cor. 7 and ask the Lord to show you his will for you today; if you understand what I am saying.

No, book selling is rather common place. In fact selling anything is rather common place. Perfect example is what the Republican Party is trying to sell; aye Scott? Are you one of it's sales men, or is it just a coincidence you have the same name as a Republican who was running in the last race and probably was elected?

Maybe just an interesting twist. Life is full of interesting twists. What passes for the True Reformed Religion has made twists and turns, as well as total departures, and it isn't easy to figure out for the majority or even the minority. AH BUT GOD! But anyone that is not totally ignorant of historic testimony has a definite advantage.

Lurker, you sound like Calvin; What do you do with Isaiah 58 (all of it); but especially 58:13-14 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

or Exodus 20:8-11 or Matt. 12:7-8 "But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless. For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.

There is a difference between legalism and loving obedience; delighting in the Beloved, in whom, we are accepted.

We're not saying Pope Benedict was immaculately conceived are we? Because other wise he was under the power of original sin still at age 14. In his youth yes but he did not resist unto blood striving against sin, then or now. If he now claims infalliblity when did that take place; obviously not at 14. At his ascension to the image of the beast's 'throne"; for "whom they (the cardinals) create they worship" I'm of the opinion if he hasn't been turned unto righteousness after all his missed opportunities during the dark days, then these acted on his heart as they did on Pharaoh's. Romans 9:21-23 "Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour? What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,"
By this time it clearly has been used to harden his heart for who else could blaspheme with such impudence and boast to the contrary.

Are Americans Getting Comfortable With Immorality?

Not if they believe the Word's of God unto the saving of their souls,

see John 3:3-17

Note: "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, (1 John 5:5-9)he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again."

Conservative,
If you are correct in that statement you also need to say that civil and ecclesiastical judgment is inevitable,
2 Samuel 23:2-4 "The Spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word was in my tongue. The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God. And he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, even a morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear shining after rain."

How can the Church ask a Christian brother to swear an oath of allegiance to a Constitution that accommodates a plurality of gods/paganism or no God at all/humanism and not deny Jesus Christ before men?

How can a true Christian or Jew swear said oath of office with out covenant breaking on the most basic level between God and man and man and man? First table violation of the 3rd commandment. See WCF SC Q 54-56 and wonder no more, if judgment is eminent unless we repent.

I no longer have my travel weary copy of 'The Free Presbyterian Magazine' Issued by the Free Presbyterian Church of Scotland some where in the early 2000's (01 or 02), I believe. At that time they addressed John Piper's defection from sound doctrine, his strange twist to the WCF SC concerning a the 6 day creation and other attempts to undermine the truth of the Word of God.

I have observed the part that one of his ministers had in spliting a once sound RBC at least into two factions;
Though I believe the real issue was sin against the Regulative Principle of worship choosing their favorite historical ballads, over the inspired Word of God in the Worship Of God.

The Lord is so gracious, he warns again and again but we are slow of heart to believe what is written in His Word.

Some 25 years ago or better, when the home school movement was gaining new interest in the states, there was a couple who advocated home schooling; Better late then early, for a multiplicity of reasons. They believed it was in the child's best interest. One good reason among their many was that a child's immune system was not fully developed until age 8. Day care and nursery school require immunizations due to unnecessary exposure. My medical observations say that their theory is probably accurate.

There is so much to learn, not just abc's and 123's (but not excluding them). Just think of all the positive influence you could have upon your children if they were at home until age 8. I have known children to read at age 3-4 and others who were late bloomers at 8-9 but read they can, when it is time.

There is so much to learn both children and adults need some of life's finer things, like being nurtured in a Christian home that practices family worship, enjoys creation to reflect on and exercises moderation in all things. We need godly families and churches more than we need anything else, that I am aware of. A settled state of the church in any nation is good for your family and good for the nation.

What constitutes the visible and invisible church in every nation is most necessary to define or we will continue on this endless circling over the secondary issues, and never deal with the real problems that need addressing now. I doubt there are any here that would doubt the days are evil. Then let's redeem the time and as someone has already suggested answering these two questions is the place to start.

It is hopeful that before a church becomes apostate, there would have been steps taken to deal with the doctrinal error within it, so as to avoid the schisms that have come to characterize modern day Christiandom. It is the fruit of doctrinal division and the resulting schisms that Paul addressed in 1 Corinthians. We are not left without apostolic instruction to order. These rents puts the visible Church in the position, she presently finds herself in. Which seems to me is to address doctrinal defection head on and reestablish her former faithful boundary lines while mourning heavily for the consequences and our part in it from the most culpable down to the least. This has been done historically by the Scottish Church and it was accomplished at so great a price, that all who love her memory, comeliness and order, her godly ministers and courageous sufferers are bound by our Covenants to set her in order again. False teachers are the fruit of Satan's wiles against a back-slidden church. When back-slidden in doctrine and schismatic in practice so that her love is grown cold the consequence shakes nations. 1 Cor.13:6; Psalm 141:5; Proverbs 25:12

The Psalmist David was a man soon to be king, though nothing in his life would have given that appearance. He had been anointed King by Samuelin Saul's place. Saul did not have a heart after God like David did. He was God's rod of correction on an unbelieving, God rejecting people; nor did he have the necessary faith that David had to obey the whole counsel of God, fearless of men, in the fear of God, as a type of his son and His Lord.

This psalm is best expounded by David Dickson for serious heart searching: is my heart is really after God? All sinners by nature who are being sanctified in the process of time would find comfort here in some degree. There are very few David's these days who could lead a nation in the fear of God, without fearing the faces of men or worrying about their fortunes, or even about appearances. David through God did valiantly. A worthy hero for any true leader of men.

I watched a News Clip with Mr Federal Comptroller, he was mocking that he obviously wasn't one of those that would have been 'raptured' neither he nor his fellow News anchors Ha, Ha. He sang a different tune during GB jr's administration, but one would think he was looking for a Republican platform? Now 60% is good enough for him, I'd guess. That way he only offends who he can 'afford' to offend. I agree, he had serious control issues.

I think these world leaders need to keep their pants on and not be scared of what man can do. The thing is, this time around, it is not man that they are dealing with. God will not be mocked and he not only knows what they do in secret; better yet, their knows their hearts toward Him. Enough with these pragmatic pie eaters anyway.
He also has laws he enforces and he is not scared he is laughing. Psalm 2
