Where do they think of these things!
And worse yet, there are probably many others like them that would agree with them that ISIS is not evil, and all we need to do for World Peace is to hold hands and sing kumbaya.

It's a wonder to me why so many here are carrying on a conversation about what the Pope says. It's as if we respect him as some kind of religious authority. And, that it is about something in the Italian version of the Bible is another mystery to me--does anyone posting here (except Phillip M.) read Italian?

Yes, that foundation sounds like one of those phony liberal groups that are nothing more than one person with a fax machine, and today, a website and robot programs set up to send out mass emails to make it look like they are coming from thousands of people.

At the same time, we cannot think that any military chaplain represent our views on religion. Just look at the wide variety of views you read here among the dozen or so people who comment here.
I think even chaplains in hospitals or large factories cannot represent any one particular religious view.

This reminds me a lot of
Isaiah 5:20
Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Obviously, they need a short-term missions trip to Cuba or Venezuela to see socialism in practice.

I can't wait to read the comment on this story from the one poster, Phillip Mezzanelli (or something like that), who has posted here before.
I have heard of this problem of interpretation in the prayer, and it goes to show you how different languages don't translate the Bible in the same way as English.
Those who think the KJV is the only correct version to use have a real problem in dealing with foreign languages, because they basically mean that no foreign language is valid for the Bible. The Muslims hold that to be true for their Koran, which they say is only valid in its original Arabic. If you want to read it, you have to learn Arabic.

I checked the SA church finder tool and found 4 churches broadcasting on SA in Vermont. It might be interesting to ask them what their response will be to this news item. Maybe we should hold them up in prayer, since they are obviously a 'voice crying in the wilderness'

This case makes you think of Matthew 5:10
Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Even the Skin Cancer Foundation recommends that everyone wear a head covering:

Cover up with clothing, including a broad-brimmed hat and UV-blocking sunglasses.

Of course, I think they mean when you are outdoors, especially from 10am to 4pm.

Podcasts are simply a way for people to zero in on what they want to hear or watch. Gone are the days when you had to listen to 15min of commercials to get to 20min of the info you wanted. If a podcast has commercials, you can just skip over them with your playback device. You can also speed up the playback so you can listen to more, even faster than usual.
But to illustrate how fast technology is changing, Apple is no longer making its earlier models of the ipod shuffle that you could use to listen to podcasts.
Now, everything is on your smartphone or on the cloud, accessible at any time, unless, of course, you just had a hurricane or tornado knock down all the cell phone towers.

So, for you "Amish..." and others, making all the girls and women in all Alabama public schools wear hats would be more important than having the Ten Commandments posted? How about posting John 3:16 or I Corinthians 13?

Well, it makes a lot of sense that Dems like socialism--they are very close to it. That old geezer Senator from Vermont, a confessed Socialist, nearly won the nomination for President of the US by the Democratic Party in 2016, if it weren't for the lying and cheating done by Hillary Clinton. Too bad, since she had very little support from the people, despite having collected over $74 million, much more than any other campaign. Bernie had a lot more $$ than any Republican candidate.

Do you think his power is equal to that of God's? Is God at work in South Carolina?

What is the 'next step'? Good question.
Maybe it will be the 'antifa' warriors protesting outside churches that dare to affirm traditional marriages. Maybe they will protest at every wedding between a man and a woman! Maybe they are already doing this in sodomite-friendly towns like Seattle, Portland, or San Francisco.

'Frank', I don't think the comments below were about attributing anything. They were just simple statements of fact. Maybe it doesn't occur in the same frequency as the RCC, but that it occurs cannot be denied.
But even with that, the same thing has happened in public and private schools, and people are still sending their kids to them.
And, didn't we see the same thing in Hollywood with that famous director? Ever heard of the 'casting couch'?

I wonder if Florida is the only state that has such a system. Maybe in other states, they need a 12-year old to hack into the system.
It makes you wonder about the worth of voting at all, and that's before you realize that the Democrats in control of the govt. offices that control elections, are loathe to cleanse those rolls of dead people. Thus we have the common joke of the Democrats going to cemeteries to get out the vote!
States need to elect Republican legislatures that will then cleanse those govt. offices, though in Florida that still has led to lots of whining from Democrats.

Eureka! This is the solution to the earlier news story posted here about South Carolina losing churches. If the SC govt would just bribe members to leave, you would have more people attending in the first place! They would come just to get the bribe later on.
And they could get cheaper Christian health insurance through one of those health-cost sharing plans, unless they have previous medical conditions that will not be covered, or expensive dental or eye problems that will not be covered. Oh well, life is not perfect, what can you do? Vote for Dems and hope they come up with a new govt plan to rescue you.

Doesn't this remind you of that verse, "With their lips they proclaim me, but their hearts are far from me" Isaiah 29:13

So go ahead and post the commandments, but don't think you have earned a place in the hearts of the students.
Remember, according to an earlier story posted here, the kids are watching on average 21 hours a week of TV.

This reminds me of whenever I am in a situation involving technology, like using a remote control for a TV, or setting up a computer to project slides onto a screen in a large room, and there are problems, the call goes out, not 'is there a doctor in the house' but rather, 'is there a 10-yr old in the house that can fix this?'
And you have to wonder about how they manage to watch 21 hours a week of TV (according to an earlier story posted here). I guess they get the smarter kids in China to do their homework and send it to them overnight.

Yes, it does seem this is not limited to RCC, and that might be a reason why people are leaving churches today, though they might never cite it when given a survey, and a survey with prepared answers might not want to include it. If you were given a survey with these 4 answers: don't have time, don't like the people, don't like the sermons, or have to work on Sundays, and then 'other' would you cite other and then pencil in 'abuse by leaders'?

For the same reason, people would not send their kids to their city's summer camps in parks or after school programs. I don't see that happening.
Schools have also had to deal with this abuse problem, but I don't see a huge flood of people home-schooling their kids because of this.
